Neat selection of three estate cars here. Sadly I can't quite make out the late on the Datsun Bluebird 910, but it looks to be a Y-reg.
The Cortina was XNF 661X, a 1982 1.6 model that made it to 1993. A purposeful roofrack on it.
Sierra estate behind the Bluebird.
This Streetview image from 2018 is interesting, with a SAAB 99 and Hillman Imp: goo.gl/maps/WNv9aG8G4ay8PAk78 At some point 2010 and 2015 the road was made one-way. T&G Super-Seconds is now a takeaway.
Unsent card printed for Tegwyn Lloyd, no reference.
A frustrating card here, with it showing a couple of cars of particular interest to me but the image isn't great quality.
What I can make out at least are the Datsun 180B and Laurel 200L on the right. The latter is the C130 model which I really like (I owned a couple when they could be picked up for £200, those days are long gone).
NSU on the right also interesting to see.
Looks like the Lloyds Bank on the left has gone within the last year or two: goo.gl/maps/B7zgtQvAmv9yeaBs8
Unsent card published by DVP Co, ref. BT 782.
An interesting variety of cars here, with the Toyota Corolla 1100 on the left being of particular interest to me. A similar car makes an appearance on another card I have, but I don't recall any from my younger days.
Range Rover and Triumph Stag probably the newest cars?
I wonder if the Land Rover with the yellow roof is a coastguard vehicle? I think the yellow has been emphasised/retouched however, so that may not be the case....

One or two interesting things here. The Subaru on the right looks like it might be a Turbo?
Fiat Regata Weekend D523 OEJ was a 1986 85C which made it to 2001. By coincidence, when I was searching for photos of a Subaru Turbo I stumbled across photos of an RX Turbo registered D755 OEJ.
Chances are the gold saloon beyond the Fiat is a Mitsubishi Galant or Sigma, although it would be great to think it was a Lonsdale.....
Unsent card published by Judges, ref. C10381.
A challenging car park shot here, hopefully the quality is good enough to make out a few things.
Most of what I can easily identify is from the domestic makers, but there are a couple of Volvos, the VW camper and maybe an Audi 100. Nothing obviously Japanese.
Unusually for a shot like this it's possible to get a similar Streetview image: goo.gl/maps/v28LXQ3UP2YsY2fM7
Unsent card published by Judges Ltd, ref. C4023.
A slightly older view here, could be very early '70s but everything looks that little bit older.
The Cortina Lotus is particuarly good to see, I can't work out the registration but I'd say it wasn't very old at the time of the photo.
Everything else looks fairly typical of the time, although the Minor is a little more unusual in being a convertible.
Unsent card published by Judges Ltd, ref. C. 1851X.
Play spot the difference between this and the other 1960s card.
Cars aside, the only significant changes I've seen so far are the yellow banner over Timothy Whites and the lack of sign for Queens Hotel (which is visible in Glen's 1970 photo flic.kr/p/2dNLFmq and 'my' 1970s card).
Looking at my older card (below) the windows above the bank (formerly Keswick Cafeteria) have changed, and the entire roof storey above Timothy Whites has been removed.
Unsent card by unknown publisher, ref. PT21154.
Even by the standards of the time the car park looks unusually empty here.
Looks like an estate version of the Citroen DS by Paupers Gate. Not sure about the van.
Unsent card, unknown publisher (Photo Precision Ltd?) ref. PT6351.
An unusual card this one, very glossy and more like a photo.
Good to see this alternative view of The Square, see also the cards I've previous uploaded (below).
The blue Mini looks to be on an F-reg and with the Viva HB and Minx being the most modern cars obvious to me, I'd say this was taken 1967-69.
Smart Consul Capri on the end of the row.
Is the plate on the Minor DAS 108? If so it appears to have lived-on, but confusingly it shows up on two different vehicles! Cartell have it down as being on a Toyota Yaris Verso, but DVLA and the MoT check site both state it's worn by a 1958 Bedford. There's a photo of the latter here on Flickr: flic.kr/p/NLPPCb and it appears to have been sold by Mathewsons at some point: mathewsons.co.uk/auctions/auction-dates/vehicles/10754-ne...
Unsent card, Dixon-Lotus production by J. Arthur Dixon ref. L1/5415/Roxburghshire.
Datsun Stanza (T11) saloon taking centre stage here. I can't make out the plate on it, looks like it might be a Y-reg though. The chap standing next to it (maybe the owner?) is wearing some fine holiday trousers.
Sticking with Datsun I think there's a 4/5-door version of Cherry N10 behind the Cortina. The latter is notable for being a rare 2-door model.

Possibly just this one card to be uploaded today, there are more to come but one of them in particular is going to give a me a lot to research....
That Manta A looks absolutely perfect, they're one of my favourite '70s cars and despite being scarred by the ownership of a rough one in 1991/92 I'd happily have another.
Fiat 127 looks like an early model?
I can see an Escort Mk2 so we're in the middle of the decade at least. As often the case on cards of this time, the 1960s stuff seems to have disappeared from everyday use quite quickly.
A couple of mysetery cars here. First is the dark estate just beyond the Manta, maybe an Avenger?
The other is the metallic blue car just past the yellow Mini. Simca, Renault 16, VW 411/412? Could be something really obvious and I'm just being dense.....
Unsent card published by J. Salmom Ltd, ref. 1-33-11-02.
I've recently managed to pick up a few postcards with Datsun content, this is a good one with clear shot of the 100A FII estate.
DVLA says VAW 319S made it to 1987, just under the usual 10 years old.
A couple of Rover P6s on the right, and mystery blue saloon. Maybe an Audi 100?

My favorite lines from Alanis Morissette’s Unsent
Dear Jonathan
I liked you too much I used to be attracted to boys
who would lie to me and think solely about themselves and you
were plenty self-destructive for my taste at the time I used to say
the more tragic the better the truth is whenever I think of the early 90's
your face comes up with a vengeance like it was yesterday
I just realized that there's something missing or awkward about this picture. He's actually sitting on a stool but I think from this angle you can't see it. Now it's bothering the eff out of me. Heh.
Not the most obvious tourist destination, which may be why it's from a smaller, local publisher rather than one of the usual big companies.
Most of the vehicles suggest 1970s, but there's an Escort Mk3 on the left (maybe an XR version?).
I hope the Cavalier at the back isn't travelling too quickly, the pair of pedestrians look rather close to it....
I presume the photo was taken from the roof of the Old Town Hall building at the bottom end of St Peter's Street: goo.gl/maps/21aVLFhtq8FFabV2A

In contrast to some cards of this period this one has unusually natural colours, to the point of being a bit dark - could have done with taken on a sunnier day?
One or two unusual cars here. Thanks to the comment on another card I think that RKF 84 is a Reliant. I'm not sure what's following it however, initially I thought Jowett Javelin but now I'm not sure.
Morris Oxford van on the right, and a Mercedes behind it?
Like the sister card, this was taken during International Eisteddfod Week. Apparently a musical festival which is still held annually (although not this year).
Later card showing this view below.

Yet another High Street in Essex, and another one I visited when I was young, as my grandparents lived in nearby Danbury and we went to Chemlsford with them. This scene is a bit before my time though, but my mum worked in town back then and I'll have to see how familiar it is to her.
Location here: goo.gl/maps/Mu5Md6SwErHWfXp4A
Many of the buildings are recognisable, but the block that includes the shop and Queen's Head pub on the left has now been gone, replaced by some typical 1960s/70s town centre architecture. Boots look to have moved across the road into one of the newer units.
Vehicles typical of the era, with an early fintail Morris Oxford/Austin Cambridge, Minis, Triumph Herald, I think a glimpse of a Hillman Imp, Ford Anglia van and Bedford TK.
Unsent card, no publisher's name given, ref. PT8287.
One or two of you are good with old caravans, so a few things here to consider? Some good period tents too.....
People in the foreground obviously like their VWs. RTY 108G was a 1969 model which made it to 1995 (by which time it had become red).
One particularly interesting car to me is what looks like a Toyota Crown estate at the back right. I can imagine that made for a good towcar.
No clue as to which site this is/was, there several near Coldstream. Presumably this one is by the River Tweed.
For some reason I'd never thought about Coldstream being a place, it's just one of those names it seems like I've always known from the Guards regiment.
Unsent card published byETW Dennis & Sons Ltd, ref. C.0413.
Main attraction of this shot is the view of Grove Garage on the right. Glen recently uploaded a couple of excellent photos which shows they remained as Rootes/Talbot dealers for some time. That wasn't apparent from my late '70s card (below), which also shows the fuel pump having been removed.
Difficult to be too sure about many of the cars beyond the Mk1 Cortina and Anglia van.
Unsent card by unknown publisher (probably Photo Precision Ltd), ref. PT6859.
The Jockey Club was supposed to be the point of interest, but that hasn't changed much so let's consider the vehicles instead....
The Avenger looks like it's in use as a taxi, not something I can recall being a common choice. If it's a local one it obviously pre-dates the time when they had to be painted black with a yellow bonnet and boot (see the next card along).
Escort Mk1 maybe a sporty model with its black rear panel? Likewise the yellow Mk3 Cortina across the road looks to be a 2-door with sport wheels and twin round lights, so maybe a GT?
DAF/Volvo estate behind the Renault 5?
I don't recognise the livery on the Bedford TK.
I was slightly puzzled by the grey pickup pulling out into the road, but I now think it's a Marina?

This card appears to be a companion to one I've previously uploaded, being the next number along in the series (see below).
The Triumph's front wing looks a little battered, and it's good to see Ranger Rover's split tailgate in use.
Interesting to see the 'JJ' plate on the Cortina, I have a later one on my Datsun Laurel. If I'm reading it correctly as HJJ 661K then it was a 1600 Base model that made it to the end of February 1986.
Unsent card publisjed by ETW Dennis & Sons Ltd, ref. S.3202.
Something of a theme to tonight's uploads.......
These all nicely follow on from the slightly older card I already have on here (see below). Initially I thought this one was late '60s too, then I saw the Vauxhall Viva HC just beyond the red Escort Mk1. The lady on the right is helpfully pointing it out to us. I think there's another HC parked on the left.
The cars parked on the right are rather drab and dark, or is it just that they have escaped the retouching artist's attention?
Unsent card published by Photo Precision Ltd, ref. PT28571.
Even if the patchy red saloon was the only car visible I would still have bought this card - it's a Datsun 1300 or 1600 (on a 1968-69 G-reg?). Widely known elsewhere in the world as the 510, it was an early model for Datsun here in the UK and sales were limited - maybe 3,500 total? Interesting to compare it with the Cortina Mk2 nearby, it's obvious competitor.
There's also a Datsun Cherry hatchback just visible to the left of the maroon Marina estate, plus a 120Y.
I would say the most notable of the others are the Renault 20/30, Bedford CA fish and chip van and the green Lada, maybe a 1600 ES?
The Castrol sign is visible again, outside what we now know was a garage.
Unsent card published by Colourmaster International printed by photo Precision Ltd, ref. PLX20059.
Edit: Having looked on Streetview I've just noticed that Norman F. Brown are still there. They look to be an independent firm of estate agents and surveyors with three local offices, established in 1967. Good to see one of the small companies survive the buyout days of the late 1980s.
A shame the photographer didn't catch another car or two on this clear, bright shot.
The Mk4 Cortina SSM 374T was a 1.6 GL, which made it to 1989. The silver lower half looks non-standard to me, I can't recall a special edition with this treatment.
The Carlton (another facelift 1.8 GL, as seen at Moffat) was A802 HSW, taken off the road in 1998.
Bedford HA van, Citroen GS/GSA and possibly a Granada Mk1 in the distance?

A good mix of 1960s and '70s cars with examples from the big four domestic makers of the time.
Mk3 Cortina looks like a it might be a GXL? The Avenger estate looks smart, might be quite new?
The trees are bit larger now, but I believe this was taken by the Martello Tower here: goo.gl/maps/N7Fy5bCbh2v6LckW7
Despite being such a popular place for daytrippers and holidaymakers I haven't found too many Clacton postcards of interest to me. There's no obvious large car park, which is a shame because they'd offer some fantastic potential.

Could be late 1950s?
I'm not great on cars from this era, but is the third one along a Talbot Sunbeam?
The bike fairing seems unusual for the time.

Could be 1980s? This is a revisit of a view seen on a couple of other cards I've previously uploaded (see below).
Colt Galant in a smart metallic bronze colour on the right, and a Datsun on the left. I was hoping it would be another Laurel, but I think it's a 120Y.
Unsent card published by ETW Dennis & Sons Ltd, ref. B.3302.
Very pleased to find this card. A very familiar setting, as I was born in this town, lived nearby and eventually worked during 1986-89 in an office overlooking Market Hill. I have other images (below).
I suspect it should be possible to date this shot to quite a narrow period, as the spire on the church has been removed (in 1968 I believe) and traffic is effectively driving around Market Hill as a roundabout, but I only remember it driving down the hill on both side of the parking/market area.
Most of the cars look to be of 1960s vintage, maybe one or two from the '50s? Volvos 144 and 145 and Renaults 16 and 8 are the only immediately obvious non-British vehicles.
I wonder if there might be a Hillman Avenger near the top on the left, and is the Renault 16 a facelift model?
The colourising 'artist' has been at work, with an overly blue sky and several cars being a little more yellow than they should be....

A good mix of 1980s cars here with the odd '70s model, the Datsun 160B/180B (810) behind the Fiesta Mk2 being of particular interest to me. There's also a Nissan Sunny estate (B12) next to a Renault 25 across the road.
I read the Citroen's plate as MFC 382W, but that comes back as a Datsun Sunny (which lasted to 1998) and I haven't yet tried any more combinations.

Of all the things that could be said about this scene, the caption on the reverse of the card reads "Bull and bear-baiting took in what is now the car park."
The white paint/render has now been removed to reveal the stone walls: goo.gl/maps/w3QW5YvRM6sfZngE9
The large building in the background appears to have gone.
Good to the see Datsun 100A. The Capri (a Ghia?) looks good, I really like that style of alloy wheel. Is the Cortina Mk3 a GT?
Edit: Just made out the Capri's plate as YCW 893N, it was a 2.0 Ghia that lasted the usual 10 years with DVLA showing it as untaxed in 1984.
Jaguar XJ and Mercedes parked in the posh row....

I think this is slightly earlier than the other Burnham Market I've previously uploaded, although we're definitely in the '80s with the Mk2 Fiesta and Mk3 Escort.
The Renault 18 TS NNG 336V was a local car that made it to 1991.
Shame the plate on the Lanica Beta isn't visible.
Looks like there's a Minor up the road, the quintessential rural car for many years.

Not a town I'd heard of before, looks like it would have been quite a trek to drive there.
The Fiat 132 on the left looks like an early example, possibly an M-reg? The pair of BT Commer Spacevans are also good to see.

A rather grey scene, despite it being a bright day.
The Capri on the left looks smart, probably a Ghia? Edit: It was registered JBF 10V and it was a 1979 2.0 Ghia automatic, last taxed in 1993.
The most interesting one to me however is the Honda Civic at the junction, with its racing numbers and stripes. The work of an enthuiastic owner or a genuine competition car?
Google Maps describes it as Former Town Hall, location here: goo.gl/maps/HVcQzyuSCn1J24P67
Unsent card published by Shaws (Wolstanton) Ltd, ref. R70206.
Twin Cortina Mk2s this time, with a tidy third one on the left. Capri Mk1 looks good in silver, presumably a 1300 or 1600.
Humber Sceptre on the right makes for an interesting comparison with the Cortina 1600E.
I wonder if the blue Viva HB is one of the sporty models, with its black rear panel?

Any thoughts on the estate next to the Austin A30/A35 van?
Certainly a busier scene then the 1990s card I've previously uploaded.
Unsent card by unknown publisher, possibly Photo Precision, ref. PT20102.
Standout car for me here is the brown Mazda 929, looks like the later facelift model (as glimpsed on one of yesterday's Burntisland postcards).
Several Escorts both Mk1 and 2, rearmost one loos like a Popular with the black bumpers and hubcaps (but with an optional/afternmarket vinyl roof).
I have nothing to offer on the horse and cart.

Minimal vehicle content, but I like this card and I was inspired to upload it tonight after Glen added a photo taken just before construction of the new flats on Dover Promenade.

It looks like 3-bedroom flats with a seaview go for up to £280,000.
Unsent card published by Valentine & Sons, ref. M3839.
Nicely linking this to one of the other Woodstock postcards, we have another NSU Ro80 to enjoy. I know the colours can't always be trusted, but I think it is a different example.
Of equal importance there's also the Chrysler 2-litre, appropriately next to an Avenger and maybe a Hunter.
The green Triuph Herald could be a late one, so might only be a few years old, but there's something with more of a 1950s look parked the other side of it.
Unsent card, no publisher's name nor reference given. However, there is a stuck-on caption that reads "The ancient and historic borough of Woodstock was for centuries a royal hunting box and was famous for the making of hand-made gloves. Nearby, in its walled park, stands the magnificent Blenheim Palace."
I have been to Blenheim on a Cotswolds trip some years ago, chances are I would have visited Woodstock or at least driven through it. The towns and villages there are undeniably attractive, but they do blur into one in my memory.
Maybe early 1980s? Interesting to compare this shot with the photo recently uploaded by Glen: flic.kr/p/2hJwhhd
The caravans and Bedford TK (used as a mobile gallery, we can see from Glen's photo) look to have been fairly permanent, and there are still caravans there now: goo.gl/maps/WDBCCp6fgtRbKoxV9
The K8 telephone box has been replaced by a modern unit.
Car-wise I can't see anything newer than the 1970s, although the Mercedes W123 could date from the '80s.
The Cortina estate looks like a higher-spec facelift model and the Austin/Morris ADO16 could be a 1300 GT?
Not sure about the light blue saloon beyond the white Marina.
Dave has a nice shot from 1991 (below).
Unsent card published by J. Salmon Ltd, ref. 2-29-03-04.
May even be 1970? The Capri Mk1 is a 1969/70 H-reg but the Rover P6 and SImca 1100 might be a better clue? Everything else has more of a 1960s look.
I'm reading the plate on the Capri as being SOW 423H. It does come up on Cartell as a 2000 GT XLR, which looks right I think? DVLA say it was a 1969 model which was black and had a 1700cc engine, if so was it resprayed and fitted with a large capacity X-flow, or maybe even the small European V4 engine? Last taxed in 1984.
The printing quality of this card is interesting, it has much less of the usual halftone, dotty quality.

I'm always pleased to find cards showing this scene - hadn't seen this particular one before. I don't think it's too much later than early-mid 1960s?
As to be expected, the cars look to be mostly domestic makes and models (with one or two larger examples), but there are two VW Beetles.
Looks like the single-secker bus would be one of the Chambers fleet? It's different to the one we saw in another card I previously uploaded (below).
Good for me to see the Corn Exchange, presumably before it was converted to the public library. In this guise we went in there pretty much every week to get books, and in the '80s I borrowed LPs which I then recorded at home.....

amongst the everyday
detritus of bank statements
and receipts
in an old five drawer metal filing cabinet
I find a Mother’s Day card that
was never sent, a handwritten note on the
yellowed envelope from my mother to her mother
“no reason to send this as you have died five days
before Mother’s Day”
the things I take from my own mother’s house,
two days after her death :
two bathrobes, worn thin
photo albums,
books of handwritten quotes-- collected over a lifetime
a long strand of freshwater pearls
I didn’t even know she possessed
the watch she refused to remove even hours,
minutes before her death
stating she wanted to know where she was
and the unsent card to her mother
the robes now contained in a cardboard box
on the top shelf of the upstairs bedroom closet,
too painfully personal for daily viewing
the pearls I try to wear often
the watch still ticking on the windowsill while I work
grief cannot be contained by metal or cardboard
and certainly not by human flesh
it slips out of me through the
salt in my tears
This is the best card of the three, the VW K70 is particularly good to see.
The MGB GT HUU 482K was a 1971 model which made it to 1985.
The distinctive window on the hotel can be seen in John Powell's photo below.

I may have neglected them over the summer, but I still have plenty of postcards to go and more arriving to keep me busy during the winter.
Photographer John Edwards captured a varied selection here with plenty of imports showing how how things had changed since the 1960s. The Mazda 323 and pair of facelift Mk1 Fiestas are the most modern things I can see. Looks like a Farina of some sort beyond the Opel Kadett and Cortina Mk4.
French makers well-represented, with Peugeot 104, Renault 12 and Citroens Visa and GS/GSA.
