I was walking along a narrow street in the old quarter of my town where a murals are painted on both sides. I’d walked through it many times, always looking left and right, but one day I looked down, closer to the ground, and I saw this graffiti. It shocked me.
Focus stack (in windy dark conditions!) of solitary orchid flower found growing in woodland near Bath, UK.
Apparently found regularly on the site before 2000, these were unseen for fifteen years until popping up in numbers last year. Only this stem has been spotted so far this year.

The wood was rough beneath me, warm from the sun but cracked and splintered in places like skin that's known both love and time. in every trial, there is the official record. the sworn testimony, the presented evidence. but the real truth is often held by someone else. the unseen witness. the one who stands in the shadows at the back of the room, whose perspective is never asked for. they see the whole proceeding through a narrow frame. they watch the defendant walk away. and they know a different story. the one that was never told.
Now that the weather seems to be settling down a bit, it might be time to get the drone up a bit more. I still enjoy the challenge of finding compositions from the sky and also finding the patience for taking long exposures with an airborne camera!
