I am finally all moved in, which means(after a week and a half) I finally have an internet connection again. I have an entire room full of boxes that I've yet to toss in the dumpster. I love my new place. I don't think I'll ever be one capable of living with another human being. I need my own space, my own surroundings, my familiarities. School starts Monday. I had been looking forward to it. But now, I'd rather stay in bed all day. Lethargic and lazy. I think I am a bit depressed this week. Ahh well, hopefully that will change.
More uploads to come. That is one thing I still want to do.
an old suitcase of my wife's parents - Bob and Norma MacDonell - filled with their old WWII uniforms. they both served during the war, one in the RCAF, then the RAF, the other in the CWAC. It's been 68 years since the war, and they're still married today.
the white card (from after their wedding) at the bottom of the photo reads:
"Mr. and Mrs. J.R. MacDonell Return sincere thanks for your very appropriate gift and good wishes, Cornwall, Ont., November, 1945"

It's finally coming together and feeling like an office instead of a dumping ground!
Thanks to a pair of IKEA Kallax (formerly Expedit) shelves, and HUGE thanks to coworker Aric for assistance in picking them up and assembling them, things are finally off the floor, and I've recovered a substantial portion of desk space. The AV equipment on the back of the desk will be cleaned up and set up for media duplication this week.
The moving company will be here on Thursday to hang pictures. I have two art pieces visible on either side of the photo plus a clock out of frame to the left.
Both tube televisions will be going away. The black one on the floor used to be for video editing, but we're doing HD stuff on nice LCD screens, making a tube studio monitor obsolete. The gray TV on the back desk was for monitoring video copies and tuning cable TV, but everything is going digital and this TV is only analog. I intend to get an LCD display and mount it on the wall above the printer.
Well I guess I should unpack sometime. But I totally enjoyed my vacation in Dallas and wish I was still there.
My first step into the Micro Four Thirds World. About time to retire the LX3 ?
I was keen on 16MP from a bigger sensor and lightweight changeable lenses.
Bought the kit from DigitalRev at a quite competitive price (880$), of course kit lenses, but for 100 $ difference (to the body) you get at lest 2 basic lenses.
More soon...
It took two whole days to drive home from the UK. Boring is an understatement. However we did stop at a Petit Bateau Factory Outlet store, and the sales were on. I enjoyed! And I loved unpacking it today!
I love PB quality and PB stripes. Their T-Shirts are the only ones I've found that fit skinny William, and Princess Alexandra complains if I sneak on any underwear other than PB without her noticing as everything else "just isn't comfortable enough". Hooray for sales then….
A nod to flickr inspiration Sean for his Artifacts Set. Gave me some ideas for a project I'm working on. Sean rocks!

The suitcase idea comes from the song by U2 Walk On.
And love is not the easy thing
The only baggage you can bring...
And love is not the easy thing...
The only baggage you can bring
Is all that you can't leave behind
