Yes, it’s mundane. I don’t care. It’s the first shot that I’ve been able to take of people in close to a year.

There's a lot of excitement at the zoo on days when a deer carcass is offered to the wolves. Guests rush to the observation deck to witness the feast, while zoo staff observe the wolves' behavior.

In this frame, two keepers are unloading the body of a deer, probably donated by a hunter in the area. The wolves are watching from afar, on the other side of a fence.

Container ships being unloaded, and then loaded up again, in Port Metro Vancouver.

It’s all action: garishly coloured containers being lifted from trucks and rail wagons by bright red cranes.

I’ve read that 90 per cent of non-bulk items are transported internationally by container ship, with around a quarter of all produce originating in China, but I can’t produce the statistics to support that assertion. (Hey, 83 per cent of all statistics are made up on the spot.)

We took a cruise with Holland America Line late August 2011, sailing from Vancouver to Alaska on the Zuiderdam. I took this shot from the ship as we prepared to cast off.

A very interesting album. I don't know who made it, where it was taken and when it was taken. North Africa or Arabia, probably early 20th century. Some of the photos resemble a refugee camp.

Horse Statue Donated to LoveWay 7-9-19 Sandy Weatherwax’s family started LoveWay years ago in memory of the dream of her late daughter, Laurie who wanted to start such a facility. Sandy’s nephew George Linder donated the statue to LoveWay in honor of his aunt. This exceptional one-of-a kind sculpture was made by awarded artist Doug Melvin from Boyne City Michigan. Consisting of various pieces of many types of scrap metal, it depicts a young girl leading a horse. The model for the little girl was his granddaughter Alexia Carroll of Portland. Linder saw the statue at the the Three Pines Gallery In Michigan and knew it would be perfect for LoveWay. The statue will be displayed in the yard of LoveWay. Melvin’s wife joined him to help unload and unwrap the statue. Sandy had brought that day cookies and donuts to celebrate, but gave her nephew George his special treat, a box of Capt. Crunch Peanut Butter Crunch Cereal. Posing in the photo are from Left: Shelly Becker, George Linder, Sandy Weatherwax, April Kline and Doug Melvin.
