Unlike the hyperactive songs of N. Parula or Cerulean the lethargic song of the Black-throated Blue describes it perfectly "I-am-so-lazy". Magee.

Unlike many other reptiles, the brown anole shed their skin in multiple small pieces. They often eat the molted skin.

Unlike horse rides in other place, a tourist must have a guide to ride camel either in group or one to one private tour. It could be mainly due to safety purpose. Is it?

For the image capturing side, I purposely included a 4x4 (machine ride) from the very far end at the top of the sand dune to echo with a lady at the foreground holding a selfie stick for self-photographing with a camel ride. It gave this photo a leading line and depth of a desert as well as a 3D effect.

Tell you what, I shot this image while I am on a saddle of the camel ride. It was very hard to stabilize myself and the camera while swaying with the camel movement while one hand had to holding tight the handle bar of the saddle during the ride.

Unlike other areas of the country struggling to deal with a minor snowfall, BNSF's hi-line handles it with grace. Seen here in the high plains country just outside of Browning, an eastbound train glides through big sky with ease in a blanket of freshly fallen snowfall on a bitterly cold winter morning.

LOL...unlike the very accommodating Eastern Towhee I posted recently, this stinker erred on the side of caution yesterday and remained partially hidden throughout our encounter! I could do little but tell him "fine, stay in there...I'll get shots of you anyway!" as I laughed the whole time! Towhees are always amusing, and quite beautiful! 😊

Unlike the crowd I posted earlier, this specimen was quite skittish, hiding in the brush along the shore.

Unlike Arenal, though we hiked almost 14 miles in Tenorio we never saw the top of the mountain due to constant cloud cover.

Unlike our previous vantage point, the keep rose far above us here, halfway back to the 'entrance'. I love how it loomed above us with the fast-moving clouds rushing behind. It felt a little like a scene out of Lord of the Rings or the like.

Unlike most birds, these like lurking in the top branches of a tree where they're super visible

Unlike LoSS, it has decent articulation in the legs. It's also stable enough to hold itself up on four legs, allowing use of the front legs for lunging poses.

There's a bit of an unintentional function in the abdomen, as the yellow shells can be hinged open. This can be used to store eggs in the form of Zamor spheres, masks, or full Skull Spiders.

*Edit* Just realized that I forgot to place a shell on the open ball visible on the abdomen. It usually doesn't look quite so gappy.

Unlike someone suggested, this wasn't my personal point of view ;-)

Unlike most lemurs, which are arboreal and nocturnal, this species is diurnal and can often be found on the ground of arid forests in southern Madagascar.

It feeds on all kinds of leaves, sprouts, roots and fruit and it is a gregarious animal that forms groups of up to thirty individuals, which are usually led by females.

Unlike this little guy, I know I've been quiet lately....sorry for the lack of comments on your photostreams. Should be able to catch up in a few weeks. I'm in "Project Puffin" mode :)

Atlantic Puffin

Newfoundland, Canada

Unlike an earlier hike to this summit, the weather was excellent on this visit. Not only did we see some great early spring wildflowers, we saw several chipmunks, and some interesting birds. We walked around 13.5 km's return distance, gaining 956 m's altogether (there are A LOT of ups and downs), taking 7 hours to do so.

Unlike the male, the female has a red underbeak

Unlike the senary group of predictable Yellowstone geysers (Great Fountain, Grand, Castle, Daisy, Riverside and Old Faithful), the remarkable Lion geyser does not tow predictability’s boat; Often, tourists sauntering the boardwalk after or before an Old Faithful eruption chance upon a Lion eruption like an unexpected winning draw of their lottery ticket. Lion is temperamental; on its moody days, some say, the best way to see it erupt is to watch it not erupt for a very long time. On other days, it erupts in series of 3-5 individual events but with uncertain interval between them (1-4 hours). Geyser grazers (a group of Yellowstone volunteers dedicated to documenting precise eruption time in 24:00 military time format) consider Lion active if it erupts once a day. If geyser reclusivity and eraticness could be measured on a scale, Lion would need a pretty big one.

To catch such a recluse without relying on chance, I tracked Lion’s eruption on the web for two weeks before our trip and crunched the data, which my day job teaches me to do well, and came up with a 1-2 hour window on our day of visit with high chances of its eruption. At the given hour, we settled down in front of the nearby Heart spring. This beautiful spring was obviously named by a semi-successful romantic who likely considered anything filled with oceanic blues to be a tender heart. Whether that or not, this pool was a lovely foreground. Soon, we heard the unmistakable growling–low pitched, guttural, and rambunctious– and the Lion erupted. Fun fun fun! Later that evening, Rishabh wrote in his journal, "We saw it erupt! Guess why it’s called Lion Geyser? That’s right, once it starts erupting, it sounds like a lion roaring!"

unlike the swallowtails these guys are not shy and take their time when on a flower, there akin in the bird world to nuthatches and the titmouse for photography.

Unlike the Golden-winged, this warbler is readily found in appropriate habitat. Port Huron SGA.

I've uploaded 1330 Flickr images so far, and this is my first attempt at this kind of editing. This is also in homage to the brilliant work of many of you who have been doing this so very long. (I'll be tagging more of you later.)

Lightbox please. Thank you.

p.s. Everyone, people are signing up for participation for Round 27 of the GET PUSHED group right now. Please click here to enter if you'd like a challenge.

Unlike its namesake sandpiper which is "NT", this a common shorebird is classified as "LC". Carlos Pointe.

Unlike the other dogs we've had, Kobuk doesn't mind having me vacuum around him. He did decide to hang out with his "cube," which is a kind of puzzle for dogs. (It holds small treats, and he has to rotate or shake it to get them out.)

Explored # 479 on July 3, 2020. Kobuk was very pleased to hear the news - thank you, everyone!

Double-crested Cormorant.

At 30 to 35 inches long, a solidly built black cormorant with an orange throat pounch and a long neck. It's long hooked bill is tilted upwards when it swims. During breeding seasons the adults have a short tuft of feathers over each eye. The young birds are browner with a tan or whitish color on their necks and upper breast. When they fly their neck will show a slight crook unlike the Great Cormorant or Neotropic.

They inhabit lakes, rivers, swamps and coasts.

They range from Alasks east to Newfoundland and south to Mexico in the west and the Bahamas in the east. They winter mainly on coasts.

Pointe Moullee State Game Area, Monroe County, Michigan.

Unlike the Festival Stage, the Fountain Stage is outdoors and quite a bit smaller... Hard to control the hardness, of the light,

when clouds are sparse and the sun is above you. I also find myself rarely in the middle of the stage, due to the limited space and find myself more, shooting on the perimeter trying to avoid blocking the audience, rather than running into the couples.

The Band: Manny Cepeda Orchestra - (Salsa & Latin) - Currently they play quite a bit around San Diego. They were great. Salsa and Swing are a great mix... mannycepeda.com/

Most of the images taken on the Fountain Stage were developed a bit differently than those under the cover at the Festival Stage. I tried to eliminate the harshness as much as possible.

Mirror shenanigans in a rather interesting little place x

Unlike most birds, Woodpeckers have have evenly balanced feet with toes 1 and 4 pointing backwards and toes 2 and 3 forwards. The name for this unusual configuration is zygodactylous and means "yoke fingered", a yoke being the evenly balanced beam across the shoulders of oxen or humans for pulling or carrying. It is probably an adaptation to a life spent largely on tree trunks, but Treecreepers and Nuthatches both have normal feet, yet Cuckoos (which rarely land on tree trunks) also have zygodactylous feet. I photographed this male Green Woodpecker (identified as male by the red, not black moustache) not far from my home this spring. But it is a species that I usually find very difficult to photograph as they have an annoying habit of hiding round the wrong side of the branch.

Unlike a fast stream, waterfall, or incoming wave, the tide ebbs and flows very slowly, but most assuredly. To capture its subtle movement with a time exposure requires considerable time, in this case nearly ten minutes. Once done, the surface and the sky become soft and dreamy and one can sense the movement of the tide.

Unlike the Canada goose it is has no brown coloured plumage.

Sandwich Restharrow Scrape

Pushing snow away to get to the old dry grasses. This was taken a while ago and unlike Boston, we need some snow now!

Unlike in neighboring countries, train stations in smaller German towns are usually in terrible condition. Guben, with a population of around 16,000, is considered a small town. Fortunately, its station building is in pretty good shape.

Unlike many water birds, anhingas spear fish with their sharp bills rather than scooping them up. They swim underwater to hunt, hence their wings are less waterproof to allow for better diving capabilities.

Unlike Vancouver, which bulldozed the majority of its old buildings, San Francisco has obviously embraced its heritage. And it definitely makes the city a captivating place to wander. Gough and Clay Streets, Pacific Heights, San Francisco. May 25, 2011.

Unlike rabbits that can retreat to their burrows as a place of safety, Brown Hares simply use a scrape in the field and lie as flat as they can for protection - believing that they are so well camouflaged that they will go unnoticed by passing predators.

Unlike the wood-carved sculptures of Mother and child this was created by nature, I have others that double bloom,

they are truly an artwork by nature!

Unlike a lot of other birds, the Short-eared Owl doesn't seem to give any notice it's going to take off so did my best to make adjustments and get some shots.

Unlike the anoles, the whiptails are generally skittish and hard to shoot. This guy was pretty small and may be one of the "little striped whiptails." I was able to sneak up pretty close to this one, very unusual...

unlike the evening rush at JFK this line isn't moving at all!!

Unlike Charms, which deals with style and flair of the wand while you cast, Transfiguration is more systematic. It requires the caster to multiply their wand power and concentration then divide it by the product of viscosity and body-weight. All of this, plus a fifth unknown factor, is what contributes to a successful transfiguration.

This is what happens when you live between Rodney and Ifido......Rodney's big blues and Ifido's skies leak out sideways........Lol! I don't know why I did this - most unlike me, but it is Christmas and I felt like playing!

Petra (Arabic: البتراء, Al-Batrāʾ; Ancient Greek: Πέτρα), originally known as Raqmu (Nabataean Arabic: الرقيم), is a historical and archaeological city in southern Jordan. Petra lies on the slope of Jabal Al-Madbah in a basin among the mountains which form the eastern flank of Arabah valley that run from the Dead Sea to the Gulf of Aqaba. Established possibly as early as the 4th century BC as the capital city of the Nabataean Kingdom. The Nabataeans were nomadic Arabs who invested in Petra's proximity to the trade routes by establishing it as a major regional trading hub.

The trading business gained the Nabataeans considerable revenue, and Petra became the focus of their wealth. The earliest recorded historical reference to the city was when an envious Greek dynasty attempted to ransack the city in 312 BC. The Nabataeans were, unlike their enemies, accustomed to living in the barren deserts, and were able to repel attacks by utilizing the area's mountainous terrain. They were particularly skillful in harvesting rainwater, agriculture and stone carving. The Kingdom's capital continued to flourish until the 1st century AD when its famous Al-Khazneh facade was constructed, and its population peaked at an estimated 20,000 inhabitants.

Encroaching troops of the Roman Empire in 106 AD forced the Nabataeans to surrender. The Romans annexed and renamed the Kingdom to Arabia Petraea. Petra's importance declined as sea trade routes emerged, and after a 363 earthquake destroyed many structures. The Byzantine Era witnessed the construction of several Christian churches. By 700, the city became an abandoned place where only a handful of nomads grazed goats. It remained an unknown place until it was rediscovered by Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt in 1812, sparking renewed interest in the city.

The city is famous for its rock-cut architecture and water conduit system. Another name for Petra is the Rose City due to the color of the stone out of which it is carved. It is a symbol of Jordan, as well as Jordan's most-visited tourist attraction. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1985. UNESCO has described it as "one of the most precious cultural properties of man's cultural heritage".

Unlike the helter-skelter movements of reddish egret or tricolored heron, this wader hunts with slow and deliberate stealth. Corkscrew Swamp.

Nevertheless we saw several of these beautiful marine animals in addition to the many common dolphins.

Unlike photographing flowers, with peppers you can eat the subject when you're finished..

I photographed this pepper a few years back when I was looking for a subject to photograph indoors on a very hot day.

Lit with 2 Yongnuo manual strobes in soft boxes on either side of the pepper and pointed towards the center at a 45 degree angle. The flash and my tripod mounted camera were triggered with a Yongnuo RF-603N.

Other plants, flowers, fruit or thingys that I've photographed using strobes can be seen in my Strobe Lit Plant set. For each image in the set, and there are over 1600 of them, I describe how I set up the lighting for that particular shot. www.flickr.com/photos/9422878@N08/sets/72157628079460544/

Unlike many spiders, they don’t spin webs to trap insects.

Agra, India, is quite famous for hosting the Taj Mahal.

But it also hosts another quite sensationnal building : the Red Fort.

Incredibly vast with wonderful craft work all over the place, it also allows you to sit down in relaxful fashion in this beautiful room which purpose I lost.

But the guy found it and is loving it, unlike me who got it wrong.

Finally got around to photographing steam trains. Unlike jets and nature this subject comes with a timetable.

Thanks to all who have visited, commented or faved my photos. (It would be nice if you left a comment too) It is very much appreciated. Constructive criticism welcome
