Here Comes Vinayaka, not ONE.... but TWO. One in the middle is the idol of Lord Vinayaka. His presence is felt every where in India, The person on the right is ME.......Vinayaga Sundaram ,,,, your favorite Flickr friend.
Few Years Ago, we visited this Lord Vinayaka , who is perching on a rock by the side of a beautiful water falls , overlooking a green and serene water side, inside Mundan dhurai Tiger Reserve Forest in Western Hill Range , near Kutraalam and Papanaasam in Tirunelveli, Tamilnadu. About two hours by car and 20 minutes of boat ride and 15 minutes of trekking take you to this place. First, Just say Hallo to the Lord, then get into the water falls are cool yourself for 30 minutes and come say Thank you to Lord Vinayaka. Offering, just a flower will do.
The Vinayakar idol you here very popular one even though he is in a remote forest. He has acted in movie Tamil movies , including 'Roja", where actress Madhubala perform abhisekam

This Vinayaga Idol is in a very remote place in the hillside. But immensely popular. He has appeared in many movies, even in opening shots and favorite of movie producers and actors.

This Lady is not caged.
She has full freedom to roam at will. Now, it is resting outside a temple fencing. She is people friendly , harmless and accept fruits from your hand, and many time they take liberty to pick it from your hand, of course they like nuts. And occasionally they go Nutty.

A brake in back breaking uphill pony ride from Pahalgham for two hours.
After a quarter hour relax and photo session,have to make another bone rattling down hill ride. But it's worth it.

Each glass ball represents one person, unified into one beautiful output to shape the country, no matter what social and economic background he or she may have. The chosen foundation for Teddy Manuel Flowers and Events is Sagip Buhay Foundation which provides free medicine to indigent patients at the medical wards and ICUs of the Philippine General Hospital.

I saw this very nice wall painting at one of the walls of the Palm Pier, Aruba Palm Beach.
The Tim Yap tree is made of 100% recycled materials from the twigs of the tree to the fabric and buttons used for the Red Cross dolls that embellish the sculpture. The charity dolls were made by youth volunteers from fabric and excess materials from factories into creative little toys. Red Cross is Tim Yap's chosen beneficiary.
Last night on my way from work I was deep in the mist of thinking what to click for my P365. Just then I noticed this cabbie with the most interesting sticker on his cab. I had to maneuver carefully to ensure he was in my visinity especially close to a traffic signal so I could get a shot of his cab. Thankfully at one junction we faced slow moving traffic which was good enough for me to quickly pull out my camera and go 'click'. (oh yes I have been taking the advice of so many people on their blogs that i lug my camera around everywhere now).
You may find little artistic value in this image.
But hold on, notice carefully.. do you see the sticker on the cab? It's one image that tries to put all possible religious faith put together.
In a country a big as ours with an even bigger population, its disparity and with so many religions its nice to know that one cabbie has put all religious symbols together - perhaps to depict unity in diversity, perhaps to depict one faith, perhaps to state his secularism.
I like how it culminates to the Ashoka Chakra (as seen on India's National Flag). One faith people.

The House of Laurel Christmas tree, joint effort between Rajo Laurel and its beneficiary RAGS2RICHES, uses salvaged objects such as wire hangers, scrap metal, scrap fabric, old twine and colored paper. The tree is spiral-shaped with wire hangers designed in to look like wings, carrying the dreams and wishes of the impoverished community of Payatas, whose able hands all contributed in the creation of the tree.
A cottage on the banks of river Lidder,in Pahalgam is about 3 hours drive from Sri Nagar, We spent few days. This is a place of serenity, tranquility and quietitude, yet the signals from Omnipresent Cell phone towers keep you in touch with kith and kin all over world. non stop.
Its a convent (Aasramam) at Ooty. It well depicts the unity in India's diversity. You can see a Christian chapel, a Mosque and a Hanuman temple at the same campus, next to next.
I tried out various angles but couldnt include all the three in the same frame. This one is the best I got.

On a rainy winter day, thousands of devotees and vistors alike wander in through the main gate to central Gurdwara, or Sikh Temple at Harmandir Sahib - the heart of SIkhism, in Amritsar.
Of course, the city takes its name from the tank, or pool of water surrounding the temple on most aspects. The Amrit Sarovar, or pool of nectar, is considered holy, and its water revered as such; Sikhs choose here to be baptised (to take Amrit).
