During the course of this project I ran into a few problems while constructing my form from foam core. First, hot glue gets everywhere and burns! I learned to just scrape it away quickly and be sure to have very clean hands. One thing that I disliked about the foam core was how straight or boring it was. Even if you had a great shape, that’s all it could ever be. However, I found that by cutting slits in one side of the foam core you can bend and warp the figure/ shape. It turned out to be helpful in designing my piece. I wanted to give the boring, straight foam core a sense of movement and grace by adding the curvilinear aspects. I think by adding curves in the piece gave it a special interest. All of my shapes are based off of triangles but when bent and warped they turn into much more. (:

At Soundsplash in Raglan, Unity Pacific were the first band I saw playing. They have a great track on the Grey Lynn Park Festival cd that came out in 2003 'From Street to Sky'.
