“Fort Courage, Arizona. A tourist trading post already faded into the past. I pulled into the parking lot to find the gas station, restaurant and trading post all closed. And for what appeared to be quite some time. But that was okay with me, no crowds to worry about and I could walk freely about the area.
Fort Courage was inspired by the 1960s television show, “F-Troop.” Anyone who has seen the short-lived series (I still remember parts of the theme song) will recall that Fort Courage was the name of the wilderness outpost in the program. I imagine that during the late 1960s and 1970s, this was a very popular stop for travelers along Route 66 and I-40. Among the amenities were a coffee shop, gas station, grocery store, trading post, motel units, trailer park and campground.” Elliott Koeppel. We drove by and made a quick stop. 4years after Mr. Koeppel’s visit, Fort Courage was deserted and up For Sale!! Seems like a complete travesty to me....
Franklin County, Ohio Sheriff's Department BSSA Unit # 11.
After the terror attack on September 11, 2001, the agencies that responded to assist found that, as they were on different radio systems, and different radio frequencies, they could not communicate with one another. As a result, communications "Interoperability", or the means for different agenciesto be able to communicate has become a priority for the Law Enforcement and Fire Services. In Ohio, The Ohio Emergency Management Agency, in partner with Buckeye State Sheriff's Association, created 11 vehicles that would be located throughout the state to respond to any terroist or natural disaster, in order to provide the means to which differing agencies can communicate with each other at a scene. In Franklin County, they operate BSSA Unit #11, ready to respond 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The crew consists of 3 commisioned Deputies and 8 communications Technicians, their service and that of Unit #11, is performed and dedicated to the memory of those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001, hence the special radio call number, Nine - Eleven.

Here is a splendid example of an EMD F9A Covered Wagon constructed for the Northern Pacific in 1955 as its number 7009D taken at Minneapolis Jct., on 01-23-1973. Note the two lift eyes below the dual headlight to be used by the big hook if the Covered Wagon runs afoul of the track. Hauling freight on the Burlington Northern for ten plus years after the March 1970 merger, she was retired on 01-01-1981 and sold to Naporano Iron & Metal.
Why is the SHIELD's new, top secret research base getting an unannounced (and unwanted) visit from UNIT's Dr John Smith?
No, I'm not too sure yet either... but plot ideas are slowly forming...
Having finished its work at Effingham, CN train A408 rolls through Watson, IL on the afternoon of November 28, 2020. On the point are two Illinois Central SD70s and a Bessemer & Lake Erie tunnel motor, all wearing the paint schemes of their previous owners.
Canadian National recently repainted a few modern locomotives in paint schemes of the railroads they've absorbed. I think that's great, but for me, it's even more exciting to be able to shoot locomotives from those vanished railroads still plying the mainline. It's fortunate to still have such opportunities out here on the old IC mainline.
History:
Third synthetic life form and carrier of the Reality Engine. Like her three siblings, Paragon was built by the Predecessors to find and retrieve the Fountain of Life from its inter-dimensional hiding place. Unlike her siblings, though, Paragon was successful in contacting the artifact. Not much is known about what happened when Paragon contacted the fountain, but when she returned from her journey she turned on her creators. With newfound knowledge of the origins and inner workings of the universe, Paragon acted as an angel of protection for her home planet, using her Reality Engine to defend it from natural disasters and malevolent forces.
Personality:
Paragon is a confident and brave individual. She sees it as her duty to defend her home planet, and she appreciates every chance she gets to learn more about the people who inhabit it. While she isn't the best at interacting with people, she lets her actions show her care for others.
Abilities:
Paragon carries the Reality Engine, a dimensional generator. The engine allows Paragon to create a region in which she has god-like control over reality. When using her engine in an affected region, Paragon can move objects with her mind, manipulate gravity, control air pressure and temperature, and more. Overuse of her engine will tire Paragon, forcing her to rest between uses. Paragon carries A broadsword, a buckler, and four remotely controlled wing blades. When her Reality Engine is active, Paragon can combine her tools to form Enki, the Reality Blade. Paragon can move this giant sword at will only in regions affected by her engine, but even with such a limitation, the sword's raw destructive power cannot be denied.
Build notes:
Well, it only took 4 years to build her. I've been wanting to do this concept since I first built Avalon. While the build isn't too innovative (I reused a lot of Svella's design) it does refine several of the concepts used in Svella. Oh yeah, and the mask is painted! This my first attempt at a painted mask, so it is a tad messy, but I'm happy with it!

Almost 3 weeks after the last railtour for the class, 507’s are still being called into service. 507029 calls at Old Roan with an Ormskirk to Hunts Cross service, 21st November 2024
P45 rolls into Anderson with a trio of retro GP60s on the headend. The train out of Toccoa, GA usually keeps 4 axles due to bridge limitations on the Z line which makes the power usually pretty sought after. Although not a high hood, these units are still pretty cool.
The WCRA holiday train heads through the yard in Squamish as they head back finishing up the evenings trip.

Quiz: Can you identify the unit, the plane, and the location?
R2-P2 aka R2-Poop-2, when I saw the legend in Brickjournal (peices made of other pieces) I instantly knew his name. In order to make him I had to make 1x3 bricks out of 1x1 plates and 1x2 plates....etc etc.....
The two F-units being delivered to TVRM in Chattanooga sat in Grenada, MS for several years and were close to gone when saved by an unknown private buyer. They will eventually be restored but have yet to see any work as of early 2023.
Space Jam might be over, but LEGO are hosting their own space challenge on LEGO IDEAS site.
I had a lot of fun building this Goat Unit, which can be both a hover bike and a walker, depending on the terrain.
There's still time, if you want to build a space vehicle or a base.

It is something special when the first train you shoot in the New Year is led by a unique loco.

A great finish to Railfan Weekend came courtesy Greg Vreeland and his Wisconsin Great Northern Railroad with coordination provided by Steve Smedley. Greg's pair of former GN F7As, recently acquired from a defunct dinner train operation and painted in Wabash colors, pulled stored empty tank cars for photographers near Trego. Thanks guys!
