Digging through the archives looking for a shot that somewhat fit today's weather. Found this gem... Taken in Vancouver back in 2012, four humpbacks sounding in unison. The photo wasn't converted to B&W, it was just that gloomy out! (This is not one image- it's a composite of two... 4 whales just wouldn't fit in 1 frame!)
Did you know that every humpback has a unique pattern of pigmentation on the underside of its tail fluke? This pattern acts as the animal's 'fingerprint' and can be used to distinguish between individuals.

This is Tyson.
I know his name is Tyson because when I called him that he did not argue.
He's a big proponent of Mooclidean geometry, which in principle, makes him a Pison.
Conforming to group norms, these Northern Shovelers appear to move in unison. These dabbling ducks are long-distance migrants and are seen here only seasonally. This is their non-breeding range. Note their spoon-shaped bills.

During mating, pairs vocalize in a behavior known as "unison calling." They throw their heads back and unleash a passionate duet—an extended litany of coordinated song.
Cranes also dance, run, leap high in the air and otherwise cavort around—not only during mating but all year long.
