#IBEW569 Journeyman Electricians and Apprentices are working for Precision Electric Group Inc. (PEGI) to upgrade a County Skilled Nursing Facility in #Santee. Supervisor Joel Anderson walked the job with us and highlighted the importance of building in East County with a local, skilled and trained workforce.

This sympathy strike was called in solidarity with members of AFSCME Local 3299, who struck over their collective bargaining contract dispute with the UC administration. A third union, University Professional & Technical Employees/CWA members at UC facilities also participated in the sympathy strike.

 

This is the first time UC nurses have walked a picket line. A 98% majority vote by RNs authorized this historic sympathy strike.
