if you get rid of macys and that ugly new park, SF could look a bit more like europe...that monument was designed for people to walk up to it. with that big blocky monstrosity around it, how many people even know its there anymore? and i suspect its another one of these stupid parks that are not conducive for people to cut through in straight lines to the other side. poor design (like yerba buena!) not only is it not practical but probably encourages crime as you run in there and you find there's no way out except back where you came!
