《悸動的心》為賴純純創作於1994年的系列雕塑 作品之一。此作以燈罩現成物如巨型花朵般的造形為基底，並放置一顆鑿磨為愛心形體的木 質作品，其輪廓雖然亦被琢磨得溫潤柔亮，然細 看凹陷處，則保有金屬器具切割時留下的粗獷 木質紋理，為整件作品增添豐富的肌理變化。巨 型花瓣般的鐵網結構，為作品展現了無法忽視 的量感，往裡頭細看，透過不同紋理的展現，打 造細緻且內斂的存在，一收一放之間，凝鍊出富饒意味的空間張力。 〈悸動的心》開啟了賴純純揉合藝術、女性、哲理 禪學等概念的創作思考。一如她創作此作時，寫 下：「『獻给所有女性』/自由開放，呈花朵似的 綻開，/內藏著花蕊，是妳的心」，彷彿宣告著她 欣然擁抱身為女性享有的多變樣貌，並奠定日 後以「心」此一簡潔又富饒禪意的概念及造形，開展的創作。

Shivering Heart is one of her sculpture series created in 1994. This work features a ready-made lampshade object shaped like a giant flower, with a heart-shaped wooden piece placed within. While the wooden heart are polished to a smooth and gentle sheen, a closer inspection reveals traces of wooden texture left by metal cutting, enriching its textual complexity. The iron mesh structure, resembling the flower petal, imbues the work an unignorable sense of volume. As one gazes deeper into the work, the interplay of various textures creates a delicate yet restrained presence, distilling a spatial tension rich with meaning. Shivering Heart marks the beginning of a new phase of Lai's artistic creation in which she started to incorporate art, femininity, and Zen concepts. As she wrote when creating this work, '"Dedicated to all women / Freely open, like a blooming flower, / Inside lies the stamen, which is your heart" It is as if she is announcing her joyful embrace of the multifaceted nature of being a woman. This work laid the foundation for Lai to continue using the simple and yet philosophical concept of "heart" in her following works.

“The Fabric of What Was Left” is a reckoning with aftermath. The red folds underfoot are not clothing. They are remnants decisions, bodies, memories, undone vows. The storm ahead is not arrival. It’s acknowledgment.
