"But the time is past, for living in a dream world,
Lying to myself, can't make that scene
Of wondering if you love me, or just making a fool of me,
Well, I hope you understand I just had to go back to the island.
and watch the sun go down, hear the sea roll in,
but I'll be thinking of you, and how it might have been.
Hear the night birds cry, watch the sunset die,
well, I hope you understand, I just had to go back to the island.
Well, all the fun has died, it's raining in my heart,
I know down in my soul, I'm really gonna miss you,
But it had to end this way, with all the games we played,
Well I hope you understand I just had to go back to the island...

A fine Shepherd Neame pub at the end of Abbey Street in Faversham.
Abbey Street would be a photographer's dream if it wasn't for the cars - do you think the residents would mind if cars were banned?
I understand that part of the street was to have been demolished in the 1960s to make way for some tower blocks. Thank goodness that didn't go ahead.
To understand the land is to walk it...SW Chatham Island.
The Chatham Islands (Moriori: Rekohu, Māori: 'Wharekauri') are an archipelago and New Zealand territory in the Pacific Ocean consisting of about ten islands within a 40 kilometres (25 mi) radius, the largest of which are Chatham Island and Pitt Island. Their name in the indigenous language, Moriori, means Misty Sun. These remote islands, over 800 kilometres (500 mi) east of southern New Zealand, have officially been part of New Zealand since 1842.
The Chathams are the first to see the new dawn of each day.

the affects of a war that lasted much longer than he has been even been alive.
people might come into his life, but only for a brief instance. in his village of Labone Sudan, while we would drive through the "streets" everyone would wave to us, saying, "bye bye, bye bye."
they know that no white person is there to stay for very long, so they might as well send them off with happy faces everytime they pass, for fear of never seeing them again.
Now, the streams running down the side of his face aren't sweat and they aren't tears. they are drops of rain. rain that has come to bring life to the dry ground of sudan. rain that has washed away the fighting and violence and fear of what once was a scary place for kids to run around in. a rain that is refreshing, probably more so to them than anyone will ever know or could ever imagine. this rain gives life to a dying people. it shows them hope for a bright, sunny future. a future that will surely bring about a community of people, who love and care for each other more than they would have otherwise.
The EISA award is perfectly understandable, the product in the hand e a remarkable piece of jewellery for audio on the go, the sound is almost on par with the micro iDSD Black Label in a quarter of the size simply amazing.
I can't remember another brand but Sony to have in the past this level of pleasure of owning one great quality product on my hand like their top of the line walkman hardware in the 80’s.
iFi with the xDSD made me feel today the same desire and satisfaction. It a wow! product since the initial unpacking to the pleasure of having it on the hand, is beautiful crafted and on the dark side a fingerprint revelation, I am simply in love by it.
The sound, I never used my micro iDSD away from the desktop, it was portable but not that portable, and very awkward to me to use something like the micro iDSD BL on the go, even if the micro sounds a little better the small advantage that the micro can have on sound does not justify the space and lack of usability on the size of the unit, no way I was using it on the go, anyway the micro Black is more complete and better sounding hardware that deserve is place on the best of the best.
The xDSD is something I will gladly use on the go with pride like an Hugo Boss suit, or an Breitling watch, it simply feels premium and sounds so good, it's not awkward it's beautiful, makes heads turn and look at it with curiosity, it's great sound with stylish looks.
The xbass makes magic on music, the 3D makes everything float around, the effects are not Audiophile correct, but who cares, on the go they are magical, and with all the noise around you on the streets you get more pleasure with them, the xBass and 3D are simple like honey, it produces lot's of detail in a musical way. All other portable Dac's now seem ugly as hell comparing the hardware alone side by side, but not only the portable DAC's, there is a lot of hardware that design and build is not on par with their sound, some have the design and sound horrible, other have the sound and are bad looking. The xDSD is the synergy of sound and looks well made.
EISA Award is very deserved for sound, size, battery duration, beauty, portability, even the price.
There are things we sell to be able to upgrade, and then many years after we regret to have sold that hardware that marked our memories. The iFi xDSD is one product that you will never forget if for some motive I sell it, in 10 or 20 years I will regret have done it, this one is special.
This was my computeraudiophile forum post about the xDSD www.computeraudiophile.com/forums/topic/38723-ifi-audio-x...
Congratulations iFi.
It is important to return to previous images found on stones from this ancient site in order to better understand this unknown culture and their distant technologies yet to be understood.
This stone could easily be disregarded as a simple stone fragment, an or accident of nature; however any stone found on this site could not have been an accident of nature; these stones were intentionally placed on this site to be maintained in entirety for an immense period of deep time, all and collectively holding specific technologies and messages yet to be translated and completely understood.
The beauty in these stones is often what you cannot see with the naked eye; it is the images, pigments, and shadows that appear only with the extended exposure of a modern digital camera. The arduous process of a traditional camera is far to antiquated to capture these hidden pigments and shadow images because the extended time period between exposure, processing, and review is simply too long. The traditional arduous antiquated process of relying on a "film-based" exposure system makes it impossible to study this unknown light technology existing on the quartz-based pigment stones from this site.
This blue pigment light figure that suddenly appears, and just as quickly disappears; is the true unknown on this ancient North American site, and the culture responsible for these stones.
All the figural images on the surface of this stone appear to be facing this illusive blue Shadow/light figure appearing on the left edge of this stone; it appears to take on the silent aura as a figure of "Grand and Supreme" Wisdom serving as a guide to the afterlife of this ancient culture and beyond.
This particular blue aura is most likely influenced by the earth's position to the Winter Solstice, the air temperature, and the time of day as the sun passes east to west across the horizon throughout the shortened early winter day.
This young fox is really starting to freak me out!!!! He makes direct eye contact with me and he's as calm as a cucumber! I took these first couple of shots this a.m.
This is the 2nd day I've run into him with his mother. Yesterday they had another sibling with them....just slightly smaller than him. They were all playing out in the field, and Mom was sitting off to the side keeping watch..
In the comments is a picture of the mom...you can see the total distrust on her face.
In the 2nd shot in the comments she is retreating to the safety of the woods. The young one was totally aware of me, but didn't seem to be as disturbed as his mother was.He looked directly at me and actually took a few steps in my direction...then seemed to dismiss me as nothing to feel threatened about, and went back to sniffing around. He hung around for a few more minutes before disappearing in the direction his mother had gone.
I didn't see the other young one this a.m.
The 3rd and 4th shot in comments was the two kits playing out in the field last night.
I'm a little frustrated. I want to get closer for more detailed shots. They obviously are hanging out in the one corner of the field where there are woods on both sides, This is where I keep coming across them. The problem is that as soon as I step into the field......either from the path coming back from the soccer field, or coming into the field from the direction of my house....they will spot me. If I walk down closer to them, inside the tree line, they'll hear me coming a mile away. As soon as I enter the field and see them, I have to freeze, and pray they were preoccupied enough not to have initially noticed me......and then very slooooooowly raise the camera to my face! Hell! I'm even afraid to change settings.....lol!

This is a photograph from the fifth running of the Athlone Flatline Half Marathon which was held at Athlone, Co. Westmeath, Ireland on Saturday 10th September 2016 at 11:00. There was beautiful weather for the event which started and finished at St. Aloysius College near the Canal Banks area of the town just slightly west of the River Shannon. This event was professionally organised and the very flat course meant that many runners both seasoned and new to the scene achieved season or personal bests. Over 900 participants successfully completed the event in the beautiful September sunshine. Everyone involved must be congratulated for the flawless running of the event. No stone was left unturned in the organisation of the race. The flat course brings runners into both Connaught and Leinster as the route takes runners on a flat rural country route for 8 miles before joining the old N6 Dublin Galway road. After a mile or so the race turns back onto country roads towards the finish.

USING OUR PHOTOGRAPHS - A QUICK GUIDE AND ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS
Can I use these photographs directly from Flickr on my social media account(s)?
Yes - of course you can! Flickr provides several ways to share this and other photographs in this Flickr set. You can share directly to: email, Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Tumblr, LiveJournal, and Wordpress and Blogger blog sites. Your mobile, tablet, or desktop device will also offer you several different options for sharing this photo page on your social media outlets.
BUT..... Wait there a minute....
We take these photographs as a hobby and as a contribution to the running community in Ireland. We do not charge for our photographs. Our only "cost" is that we request that if you are using these images: (1) on social media sites such as Facebook, Tumblr, Pinterest, Twitter,LinkedIn, Google+, VK.com, Vine, Meetup, Tagged, Ask.fm,etc or (2) other websites, blogs, web multimedia, commercial/promotional material that you must provide a link back to our Flickr page to attribute us or acknowledge us as the original photographers.
This also extends to the use of these images for Facebook profile pictures. In these cases please make a separate wall or blog post with a link to our Flickr page. If you do not know how this should be done for Facebook or other social media please email us and we will be happy to help suggest how to link to us.
I want to download these pictures to my computer or device?
You can download this photographic image here directly to your computer or device. This version is the low resolution web-quality image. How to download will vary slight from device to device and from browser to browser. Have a look for a down-arrow symbol or the link to 'View/Download' all sizes. When you click on either of these you will be presented with the option to download the image. Remember just doing a right-click and "save target as" will not work on Flickr.
I want get full resolution, print-quality, copies of these photographs?
If you just need these photographs for online usage then they can be used directly once you respect their Creative Commons license and provide a link back to our Flickr set if you use them. For offline usage and printing all of the photographs posted here on this Flickr set are available free, at no cost, at full image resolution.
Please email petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com with the links to the photographs you would like to obtain a full resolution copy of. We also ask race organisers, media, etc to ask for permission before use of our images for flyers, posters, etc. We reserve the right to refuse a request.
In summary please remember when requesting photographs from us - If you are using the photographs online all we ask is for you to provide a link back to our Flickr set or Flickr pages. You will find the link above clearly outlined in the description text which accompanies this photograph. Taking these photographs and preparing them for online posting takes a significant effort and time. We are not posting photographs to Flickr for commercial reasons. If you really like what we do please spread the link around your social media, send us an email, leave a comment beside the photographs, send us a Flickr email, etc. If you are using the photographs in newspapers or magazines we ask that you mention where the original photograph came from.
I would like to contribute something for your photograph(s)?
Many people offer payment for our photographs. As stated above we do not charge for these photographs. We take these photographs as our contribution to the running community in Ireland. If you feel that the photograph(s) you request are good enough that you would consider paying for their purchase from other photographic providers or in other circumstances we would suggest that you can provide a donation to any of the great charities in Ireland who do work for Cancer Care or Cancer Research in Ireland.
Let's get a bit technical: We use Creative Commons Licensing for these photographs
We use the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License for all our photographs here in this photograph set. What does this mean in reality?
The explaination is very simple.
Attribution- anyone using our photographs gives us an appropriate credit for it. This ensures that people aren't taking our photographs and passing them off as their own. This usually just mean putting a link to our photographs somewhere on your website, blog, or Facebook where other people can see it.
ShareAlike – anyone can use these photographs, and make changes if they like, or incorporate them into a bigger project, but they must make those changes available back to the community under the same terms.
Above all what Creative Commons aims to do is to encourage creative sharing. See some examples of Creative Commons photographs on Flickr: www.flickr.com/creativecommons/
I ran in the race - but my photograph doesn't appear here in your Flickr set! What gives?
As mentioned above we take these photographs as a hobby and as a voluntary contribution to the running community in Ireland. Very often we have actually ran in the same race and then switched to photographer mode after we finished the race. Consequently, we feel that we have no obligations to capture a photograph of every participant in the race. However, we do try our very best to capture as many participants as possible. But this is sometimes not possible for a variety of reasons:
►You were hidden behind another participant as you passed our camera
►Weather or lighting conditions meant that we had some photographs with blurry content which we did not upload to our Flickr set
►There were too many people - some races attract thousands of participants and as amateur photographs we cannot hope to capture photographs of everyone
►We simply missed you - sorry about that - we did our best!
You can email us petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com to enquire if we have a photograph of you which didn't make the final Flickr selection for the race. But we cannot promise that there will be photograph there. As alternatives we advise you to contact the race organisers to enquire if there were (1) other photographs taking photographs at the race event or if (2) there were professional commercial sports photographers taking photographs which might have some photographs of you available for purchase. You might find some links for further information above.
Don't like your photograph here?
That's OK! We understand!
If, for any reason, you are not happy or comfortable with your picture appearing here in this photoset on Flickr then please email us at petermooney78 AT gmail DOT com and we will remove it as soon as possible. We give careful consideration to each photograph before uploading.
I want to tell people about these great photographs!
Great! Thank you! The best link to spread the word around is probably http://www.flickr.com/peterm7/sets

Jill's teeny so one could understand underestimating her age at a glance, but she was examined at NYC's animal control shelter and logged into their system as 12 days old. Um, she has a nice set of chompers and is ready and willing to start on some solid food. The instructions I got from the medical department when I picked her up was to feed her with a 1cc syringe. She put away 15cc in the Barnes and Noble bathroom on our way home from the shelter! We'll do both formula and gruel for awhile. :)
EasierToUnderstandThanWave.com, unlike Google Wave, it’s pretty simple to understand, and funny too, in a geeky way at least. The website gives you two options, by showing two pictures, and asks you to vote which is easier, Google Wave or something else.
Despite the fact that the website just launched, thousands of people have voted and so far things that are easier to understand than Google Wave include: Metaphysics, Death, neoclassical economics, Ozzy Osbourne, Combinatorial Game Theory, osmotic pressure, cardiothoracic surgery, the mating habits of the red-sided Garter snake, lipid solubility, radiocarbon dating, self-balancing binary search trees, damped harmonic oscillators, vector calculus, the geopolitical climate of Southeast Asia, and the Swedish chef.
Check it out and let us know which one is your favorite comparison, at GoogleWaveSucks.com/post/210685298/easier-to-understand-t....
Understand that, if it were that easy, it would have been done by now.
Understand that, I am doing the best I could with what I have.
Understand that, I'll keep trying, regardless.
West Bagborough lies about six miles North of Taunton in Somerset. The village is tucked into the slope of the Quantock Hills and toward the lower end of the village the parish church dedicated to Saint Pancras can be found. One has to leave ones car by the lychgate and then follow a path for about 200yds up to the church.
The church could be described as a shrine to the work of Sir John Ninian Comper. In the period between the First and Second World Wars he designed much of the stained glass that can be found in the church, the Rood across the chancel arch and the decorated font cover. It is a pity that some of this work is beginning to show signs that conservation is needed to preserve the items for future generations. I can understand that a rural congregation may have limited resources for this but I personally feel that the items by Comper are of national importance.
This church has taken me several visits to get the pictures I wanted. Therefore the viewer may find that pictures have different dates for when they were taken. I hope that the pictures I have taken adequately record this church and its treasures.
This picture shows the Eastern window of the three windows in the North aisle of the church. The window was designed by Sir Ninian Comper. The window depicts two major figures in English church history; on the left the figure represents Saint Edward the Confessor and on the right the figure represents Saint Thomas Becket. The chicken wire that can be seen across Saint Thomas Becket's arms at the top right is there to prevent birds getting into the church when that section of the window is opened.

why people fall in love with San Francisco. I might have a crush on it, too. Seattle will have a real hard time competing.
I don't understand why sculptor George Grey Barnard ended up with such a crappy tombstone in the old Harrisburg cemetery.
He designed the flanking groups of statuary on the facade of our Capitol building, which have been justly celebrated for nearly a century (in addition to other works, of course).
But then that caused a (ridiculous) scandal back in the day, because of the nudity of the figures. Silly. They made him add fig leaves to the genitals.
So maybe that was enough dumb "tarnish" to leave him with this crappy, plain tombstone which in no way hints at his gifts as a sculptor.
Or maybe he did something else to piss society off later. Maybe he just died poor.

I understand the cycle of life. People need to die. I get that.
But, somedays, I don't like it. Not one bit. In fact, it makes me pissed.
I lost my sister when I was a teen. And it wasn't an easy death for her. No, it was slow - effing cancer. And everyone around her had to witness that.
People post on their FB status about how much they miss their loved ones - about how they've lost them to various illnesses. I haven't done that. But this is my equivalent to that FB status.
I miss my sister. I effing hate cancer and what it does to beautiful people. I'm pissed about it and I miss her. I feel like she's been stolen from me.
And oh yeah... I miss my dog too.
I was up at the parking lot top floor with my friend A. on our way to the movies, when I saw this woman sitting by the fountain with two small dogs. I rushed down to them, introduced myself and asked her permission to take their picture. (A. followed and took pictures of me while I took of them. Thanks, A.)
Anna's dogs started to bark quite fiercely, they didn't seem too friendly, but Anna said it was out of excitement, they were happy to meet a stranger, she assured me. Perhaps...
