Tawny Owls – one pair at least - have begun calling in my neighbourhood. The hooting calls of this species can be heard from autumn and through the winter months, underlining that this is a species that breeds early in the year.

the importance of a single detail in comparison with the rest. As a narrative device, the ability to vary the distance between the camera and the object may be a small thing indeed, but it makes for a notable difference between cinema and oral or written narrative, in which the distance between language and image is always the same.

Allow me me to underline the concept of desert. Even in black and white, the dunes and the sands, conserve their solemnity and sense of ethernity. It is always different but always the same. I cannot get bored nor stop to watch it. Can you?

The body, short and stocky, seems disproportionate compared to the large head extended by a long beak-shaped dagger (4 cm). The tiny red legs and the very rudimentary tail are also characteristic signs of the Alcedo genus. The two dominant colors of the plumage are blue, which can change to green depending on the brightness on the top, and the orange red hot on the lower parts. Closer to home, there is the top of the head and the greenish-blue wings, the back and tail light blue ranging from azure blue to cobalt blue and the white throat. The sides of the neck also white are bordered at the cheek of an orange spot underlined by a broad blue band. The beak of the male is entirely black, that of the female is tinged with red or orange at the base of the lower mandible. The juvenile resembles the adult, but with the feathers duller and greener. The legs are grayish. The short wings are animated by sustained beats allowing a very fast and straight flight.

A scene which we not even recognized the day before, turned into a soft sunny wonderland of fluffy clouds, warm sunlight and a golden landscape. This was definitely not a planned shot and it was hard to frame up for a nice comp within seconds. As there was not much time, I decided to get it all in and take a wide pano out of five individual shots using my SIRUI levelling bowl. I love how the wind mills stick out of the mist as well as the golden wave left to the sun. Further, I decided to leave this wonderful lens flare in the image, because it helps to underline the bright atmosphere we experienced on location.

This bird is, without question, one of the most beautiful of our territory. The size of a blackbird, with a long, slender beak curved downwards, its body is very tapered and its tail ends with two elongated feathers. What strikes first is its magnificent colors: brown red top, yellow back, wings and tail are blue-green, white forehead, bright yellow throat underlined with a delicate black line and blue under turquoise. To that, we must add a black band on a dark red eye. Our bee-eater is also noticed by its very frequent cries, very sound, with the rolled, liquid tone. And since he loves to live in a colony, it is easy to spot him.
First day outside and the horses were full of power and elegance. The owners gave everything to underline the beauty of their horses…

I don't like your little games
Don't like your tilted stage
The role you made me play
Of the fool, no, I don't like you
I don't like your perfect crime
How you laugh when you lie
You said the gun was mine
Isn't cool, no, I don't like you (oh!)
But I got smarter, I got harder in the nick of time
Honey, I rose up from the dead, I do it all the time
I've got a list of names and yours is in red, underlined
I check it once, then I check it twice, oh!
Ooh, look what you made me do
Look what you made me do
Look what you just made me do
Look what you just made me
Ooh, look what you made me do
Look what you made me do
Look what you just made me do
Look what you just made me do
I don't like your kingdom keys
They once belonged to me
You asked me for a place to sleep
Locked me out and threw a feast (what?)
The world moves on, another day, another drama, drama
But not for me, not for me, all I think about is karma
And then the world moves on, but one thing's for sure

Citadel ('Tvrđa' in Croatian) of the city of Osijek, Croatia
It is the best-preserved and largest ensemble of Baroque buildings in Croatia and a unique example of an eighteenth-century military, administrative, and commercial urban center, as described by the World Monuments Fund.
After the fortress's military importance decreased at the end of the 19th century, Tvrđa became the center of administrative, educational, cultural, and scholarly life in Osijek and the entire region. The first school in Osijek was organized at Tvrđa and the first printing press started working in 1735. The significance of educational institutions of Tvrđa are best underlined by the fact that Croatian Nobel Prize laureates, Lavoslav Ružička and Vladimir Prelog, along with Serbian scientist Milutin Milanković (Milankovitch cycles), were all alumni (graduates) of the Tvrđa schools.
Tvrđa is on UNESCO's 'Tentative List' for consideration as a World Heritage Site.
At the state garden show in Beelitz, the special appeal of the hall shows is that they are presented in the parish church of St. Marien-St. Nikolai. The church is centrally located in the historic old town. The special ambience of a venerable church underlines the quality of the gardening work, which invites you to take a new floral journey in this place every 14 days.

The Main Chapel of the Basilica Santa Croce is inspired by the purest Gothic architecture, with a strong vertical thrust, underlined by the umbrella ribs of the vault and the extremely long and narrow mullioned windows with two lights. The frescoes that decorate it are the Stories of the Invention of the True Cross, a tribute to the name of the church, painted by Agnolo Gaddi around 1380.

We try hard to see what is beneath ... and after all, we hope our imagination will help
It's good to focus one's mind to imagine what is under the cover, indeed to dis-cover with our wits what could be, what we do not see in front of us.
After all, flickr shows plenty of pics having underlines...

Approaching the philosophy where "less is more", this shot puts a young man completely dressed in black at the centre of the scene, perfectly perpendicular to the black and white lines of the wall behind him. The young man walks with a confident and slow step, with a well-upright posture, as if to underline his confident presence, immersed in probably listening to his favourite music, as can be seen from the headphones on his ears, and intent on continuing his walk towards a destination unknown to the observer. A minimalist scene that nevertheless seeks strength in the contrast of lines, the horizontal ones of the wall and the vertical ideological one represented by the young man.

Here, somewhere in the heart of me
There is still a part of me
That cares
And I'll, I'll still take the best you've got
Even though I'm sure it's not
The best for me

You're born to suffer
Like all soul sisters
And soul brothers
I, I can see the danger signs
They only help to underline
Your beauty
I'm not looking for an easy ride
True happiness cannot be tried
So easily
When you're born a lover
You're born to suffer
Like all soul sisters
And soul brothers
Like all soul sisters
And soul brothers
You can take your time
I'll be waiting in line
You don't even have to give me

When you're born a lover

Messeparkhaus in Köln
Organische Struktur
organic structure
The homogeneously designed facade not only appears light and transparent, but also surrounds the curved building with a poetic-organic shell that gives it plasticity. It does not appear ornamental. It is designed much more as a large organic structure that appears to breathe. The aim was to develop a "skin" as a facade that is permeable to light and air. The scaling represents the skin organ. Associations with nature, such as dragonfly wings, are encouraged. The surface relief due to the fanning out of the wings or scales has a plastic and breathable effect. The facade skin is particularly suitable for curved floor plan contours. Its poetic charisma lifts the multi-storey car park from a purely functional level.
Constructive implementation
In the course of finding the form, an element had to be found that, on the one hand, structurally and architecturally traces the curves of the facade, and on the other hand underlines the outward appearance. A construction based on the theme of fish scales was chosen for this purpose. For the translation of this principle, around 3,000 laser-cut panels with edge reinforcement were made of perforated sheet metal, which were connected to the underlying metal mullion-transom construction with screw bolts. The gill-like openings and the perforated portion of the sheets themselves ensure the necessary, natural flow of air through the car park and at the same time the natural lighting of the interior. The overlapping of the metal sheets resulted in interesting geometric patterns that develop a sensuous, emblematic symbolism in the dark. The fastening system allows flexible assembly and maintenance of the panels. The use of threaded rods made assembly from different directions possible. Different angles in identical elements could be compensated.
Wikipedia: The city of Nan's most famous wat is renowned for its cruciform ubosot which was constructed in 1596 and restored during the reign of Chao Ananta Vora Ritthi Det (1867-1875).
It is the only temple which was built as if it were on the back of two immense snakes (or Nagas). Each of the four entrances is preceded by a small corridor topped by a finely decorated point shaped structure (underlining the royal origin of the temple) and is equipped with smoothly carved doors; with Chinese demon guards in the East, flowers in the North and forest life motives in the Lanna style in the West and South.

Stone Garden by MIREI SHIGEMORI Fukuchi-in 1973
Between the years 1924 and 1975, Mirei Shigemori (1896-1975) designed more than 180 gardens in Japan, an extraordinary creative output by any standard.
If Shigemori was best known as a landscape designer, an artist in the placement of stones, it is worth noting that his accomplishments extended to being a scholar and practitioner of painting, the tea ceremony and ikebana. His fascination with contemporary Western art may have underlined some of the more daring innovations he made during his long career.

Herford is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, located in the lowlands between the hill chains of the Wiehen Hills and the Teutoburg Forest. It is the capital of the district of Herford.
The town was founded in 789 by Charlemagne in order to guard a ford in the narrow Werre river. A century later, Matilda, daughter of Dietrich of Ringelheim, a count of Saxony, grew up in the abbey of Herford; she was a descendant of the Saxon leader Widukind. In Herford she met Henry the Fowler, who later became king of Germany.
In late medieval times Herford was a member of the Hanseatic League. It was a Free Imperial City, i.e. it was directly subordinated to the emperor. This status was lost after the Peace of Westphalia (1648), when Herford was annexed by Brandenburg-Prussia. It was administered within the Province of Westphalia following the Napoleonic Wars, and made part of the new state North Rhine-Westphalia after World War II.

portico of Via Crucis - Sacred Mountain of Ghiffa - UNESCO World Heritage Site (2003)
The Sacred Mountain of Ghiffa is a Roman Catholic devotional complex in the comune of Ghiffa, (Piedmont, northern Italy), overlooking the Lake Maggiore. It is one of the nine Sacri Monti of Piedmont and Lombardy, included in UNESCO World Heritage list.
The dedication to the mystery of the Trinity was influenced by a pre-existing small oratory on Mount Cariago. The panoramic view over the Piedmont side of Lake Maggiore displays a high level of compositional architecture and landscape research. The monumental complex is not homogeneous but remains incomplete and the authors and founders are anonymous. The Chapel of the Blessed Virgin Mary Crowned was the first to be constructed in 1647. The portico of Via Crucis, erected in the 17th century, underlines the shift from the themes of the Counter Reformation to that of the Passion of Christ.

Another peak I climbed this summer. The Italian name Cornetto di Confine underlines it is a peak on the border between Austria and South Tyrol in Italy. It offers magnificent views from the summit, also towards the Sextner Dolomites. You can even see the two of the three Tre Cime di Lavaredo peaks.
Under the large meadow between the university building and the old Pinakothek, the Museum of Egyptian Art lies like an underground excavation site. The building is a monumental architecture which welcomes visitors via its own forecourt, which is designed as a flat sloping stepped ramp, with a mighty entrance portal and light-flooded halls. However, the further one penetrates, the smaller and narrower the rooms become - just like in an Egyptian temple. The predominant materials are exposed concrete, steel, stone and glass, underlining the aesthetic aspirations of the museum, which combines art and cultural history under one roof. The strikingly well-worked fair-faced concrete becomes increasingly fine towards the object. Where the ceiling still shows clear structures, the bases of the figures almost look like fine sandstone.
