Don't underestimate the power and connection of a few written words vs. a text message or email. After attending Future News Worldwide in Edinburgh at the beginning of July this year, we decided to do something in order to change this false perception. As young journalists from various parts of the world, we discovered that the things we have in common are much more important and relevant than those that separate us. When telling the truth is our common priority, any existing cultural barrier breaks down and we feel like we have the same aims. Thanks to the internet and social media, journalism now is even more flexible. We can use more tools and learn from each other, we can keep in touch and develop strong connections. With this project, called “Different faces, same passion: Journalism”, we want to show that it is fine to have different ideas and perspectives on the same issues.

Basically, I was on the tracks a bit too long as I underestimated the sheer speed of this train. I wasn't insanely close, but it definetely gave my heart a start. As I was running away I managed to take this shot, this was taken at 105mm on DX so the train is closer than it looks, and it was travelling fairly quickly.
