Unconditional Surrender - Scultura al Porto di Civitavecchia

Gilda Radner said, “I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love. For me they are the role model for being alive.”

So if you want to understand unconditional love, get a dog.

Rummaging through some old photos, I came across one of my favourite pics of Victoria so I quickly scanned it in. Taken twenty years ago I always get the sense that she's a happy and contented wee girl in a safe, loving environment. That might sound soppy but us guys do have our soft, vulnerable spots, haven't we?

This statue is a series of sculptures by Seward Johnson resembling a photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt, V–J day in Times Square, but said by Johnson to be based on a similar, less well known, photograph by Victor Jorgensen.

Grounds For Sculpture

Nestled in the heart of central New Jersey lies Grounds For Sculpture, a magical place where art and nature are always at play. At its core are more than 270 sculptures by renowned and emerging contemporary artists, each thoughtfully positioned on meticulously landscaped parkland full of thousands of exotic trees and flowers. It is a feast for the senses.

The works, many of them monumental, include those of such distinguished artists as Clement Meadmore, Anthony Caro, Beverly Pepper, Kiki Smith, George Segal, Magdalena Abakanowicz, and Isaac Witkin. They join the enchanting works of our visionary founder Seward Johnson as well as many others by the finest up and coming artists of our time.

This is the world famous photo of the kiss after World War II at Time Square, New York.

- - ♥

I do not own the photo on the right. (Do you think I'm that old? HAHAHA! :D)

But I certainly own the one on the left. :)

All credits goes to the person who owns the copyright! I just used the photo merely for just comparison.

Linus the Wonder Pup- sometimes I just wish he would say something instead of just staring at me

45/365: A cliche picture, love it non the less. This picture is composed of my ring and Twilight (the book). I picked Twilight not because of the beautiful casts but because unlike the Hollywood movies and advertisement, the books are all about "life, not death", "love, not lust" and about choice and free will.

Few quotes I love:

"It doesn't matter where you're stuck in life or what you think you have to do; you can always choose something else. There's always a different path."

You know you've found The One, not when you can imagine the rest of your life with someone... it's when you can't picture it without.

Last but not least, Happy Valentine's Day!!! xoxo

"Unconditional Surrender", a statue by world-renowned artist J. Seward Johnson commemorating the famous World War II photo in Mole Park, downtown San Diego.

The statue is a three-dimensional interpretation of a photo taken by Alfred Eisenstaedt of a Sailor kissing a nurse in Times Square, New York City on Aug. 14, 1945, following the announcement of V-J Day.

I'm going to try and post something new everyday. Today, this is the best I've got. We went to the dog park this evening for a little bit. It was getting dark so most of my action shots were blurred. Zoey took a break from playing to visit with her daddy.

“Whatever they grow up to be, they are still our children, and the one most important of all the things we can give to them is unconditional love. Not a love that depends on anything at all except that they are our children.” -Rosaleen Dickson

My favorite shot of the day. My little girl and her little girl.

I rarely take photos of people, but this guy was so committed to his role and having such a blast doing it that I couldn't help trying to capture his performance.

When I first saw him he was shouting in Japanese, apparently trying to surrender, since he had a white flag in one hand and a bottle of booze in the other.

He looks miserable here, but he would break character and explain his role, while laughing and smiling.

There were some kids watching who seemed genuinely concerned about what would happen to him once the Americans had him in custody.

Unconditional Surrender - Scultura al Porto di Civitavecchia

This photo, for some reason unknown to me, reminds me of a tattoo that I have. Its on my inner wrist and its a symbol for unconditional love. I got it because of what it represents. A love so pure, so strong that nothing could ever possibly break it. I also got it because its one thing everyone in the world wants more than almost anything else however, its something very few ever truly experiance. Lately Ive been asking myself whether or not it actually exists. Is there such a thing as real unconditional love? A love that never dies. Even after 30 yrs when that special someone touches you your skin still sets a blaze? Every kiss makes your stomach sink and makes breathing somehow become something you have to remind yourself to do. When your not with them you still get anxious. You dont get bored of them & have to go day by day just tolerating them. I understand that love is a struggle, something you need to work at but at the end of the day if I don't have that burning desire, passion & chemistry than the fight really isnt all that worth it for me.

One day I could only hope to find a love like that. I have that kind of love to give. At times I think I have too much of it. But for now, Ill sit back and wait for someone to come along thats willing to give me the same kind of love that I have to offer.

This man has taken his elderly dog for a walk in the snow.I took several shots of this man and his dog walking alongside this old abandoned railroad track. With and without snowfall. While shooting I was talking to the man to draw his attention and to have a little conversation about the beauty and wonders of nature.Imagine ; its spring, the 25th of march and it snowing...It could as well be winter for all we know. You can say that the climate is changing.Climate change is irreversible.Man has gone to far. Now, nature is pretty resilient and self healing but the unknown factor here is man.If no measures are taken and solutions are found, we will exhaust nature in the very end.

Sixty three years ago, an American sailor walked through New York City's Times Square. He was celebrating Japan's surrender in World War Two. The sailor saw a nurse, and kissed her. A Life magazine photographer caught the scene. This statue is based on the famous Life Magazine photo by Alfred Eisenstaedt.

Unconditional love and gratitude. The foundation of our tradition

Look dad it says unconditional!!
