The Fine People At Wikipeda have this to say about the original picture(s) this was based on.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V%E2%80%93J_day_in_Times_Square

V–J day in Times Square, perhaps the most famous photograph by Alfred Eisenstaedt, is of an American sailor kissing a young woman on V-J Day in Times Square on August 14, 1945, that was originally published in Life magazine. (The photograph is known under various names: V-J day in Times Square, V-Day, etc.[1])

Because Eisenstaedt was photographing rapidly changing events during the V-J celebrations he didn't get a chance to get names and details. The photograph does not clearly show the faces of either kisser and several people have laid claim to being the subjects. The photo was shot just south of 45th Street looking north from a location where Broadway and Seventh Avenue converge.

However it does seem this statute is based on another photo taken at the same time by a navy photographer. (from the same Wiki entry):

U.S. Navy photo journalist Victor Jorgensen captured another view of the same scene, which was published in the New York Times.[4] This photograph shows less of Times Square in the background and does not show the full body of either the sailor or the nurse. Unlike the Eisenstaedt photograph, this photograph is in the public domain (by virtue of being produced by a federal government employee on official position).

these two have some fun love!

i enjoy being around them, together they are fantastically wonderful

Unconditional Positive Regard: The Power of Self Acceptance | Michelle Charfen | TEDxRedondoBeach

There is no other love like a mother's love for her child.

Love is the most powerful of all the frequencies out in the ether, yet it is one of the hardest to find and successfully maintain. Just because this entity is the way it is does not mean one does not deserve it. Every one, including the most hateful person on the face of this Earth, deserves love. Love, not money, makes the world go around, as love can bring people from all walks of life together for a common goal, or change the attitude of the most hateful person into a new and improved loving person. Photo captured alongside the El Sur Ranch property in Big Sur. Monterey County. Early October 2012.

Found this iconic statue in Sarasota and couldn't resist stopping to take a few shots of it. This thing probably stands about 40 feet high and is very realistic.

"Unconditional Surrender", a 25-foot statue created by renowned artist J. Seward Johnson, was temporarily taken down from its location along the bayfront in Sarasota, FL so that it can undergo maintenance in New Jersey. It will make the 1,100 mile trip on the back of this truck.

(the title of that image in the exhibition)

I love Globito unconditionally, which is fortunate for her, because sometimes her behavior is very bad. She often bullies the other cats, and is jealous of attention. When Viva came, they co-existed okay, as Viva learned to steer clear of Globito. But after Viva had her kittens, things changed: Viva came out for some exercise, Globito hissed at her, and Viva went after her - chased her all over and really scared her. No one has ever bullied the bully before - Globito has been defiant to me, but she knew Viva wasn't playing. So now we have to keep the two carefully separated - Viva spends most of the time in the room with her kittens, but when she comes out for exercise, Globito has to be behind the securely closed bedroom door.
