No, it's not Nurse Edith Cullen Shain unconditionally surrendering to the sailor. It was Japan unconditionally surrendering to the United States.
On V-J Day, August 14, 1945, Alfred Eisenstaedt took a famous photo in Times Square. It was of a sailor kissing a nurse after it was announced that Japan had unconditionally surrendered. We found a 26-foot tall statue of the pair from the photograph standing in Sarasota's Island Park, on the bay front by the Marina on U.S. Route 41.
We were lucky to get there when we did — a couple of hours later and we would have missed the statue. A crew was there with a crane and cherry picker working on detaching the statue from its pedestal. They didn't know anything about what was happening other than they were told to remove the statue and load it on a truck.
The statue originally appeared in Times Square for the 60th anniversary of the end of World War II. After that it ended up in Sarasota. In 2006 it went to San Diego for a while. In 2008 it came back to Sarasota. I don't know where it's going now.
The sailor was identified by a team of volunteers at the Naval War College in August 2005 as George Mendonça, of Newport, Rhode Island, although many other men have claimed the honor over the years.
Update: A little bit of research led me to some more information about what was going on . . .
Jack Curran, an 89-year-old World War II veteran, bought the statue for $500,000 and plans on donating it to the City of Sarasota.
The crew we saw was taking the statue apart for transport to Mercerville, New Jersey, where is will be repaired (the sailor has a broken left arm among other things). Then the statue is supposed to come back to Sarasota for a 10-year stay at the marina. According to the city, the statue's projected return date is July 11 this year.
As part of the donation agreement with Curran, the city guaranteed to keep the statue in more or less the same spot for the next decade. Curran is hoping the city will leave it there for longer than that as a tribute to Sarasota County's veterans.
About $400,000 of the $500,000 will be kept aside for three years, just in case of a suit by Time Inc., owners of the 1945 Alfred Eisenstaedt photo.

Well first you need to be able to distinguish between self-acceptance and self-esteem.
Self-Esteem vs. Self-Acceptance
Though related, self-acceptance is not the same as self-esteem. Whereas self-esteem refers specifically to how valuable, or worthwhile, we see ourselves, self-acceptance alludes...

Contemporary definition which states that "unconditional love is an unlimited way of being." Experienced within the individual, this universal awareness of love operates on every level of life through the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual bodies and is expressed when one becomes conscious of its presence.
In conditional love: love is 'earned' on the basis of conscious or unconscious conditions being met by the lover, whereas in Unconditional love, love is 'given freely' to the loved one 'no matter what'. Loving first.
Conditional love requires some kind of finite exchange, whereas unconditional love is seen as infinite and measureless.
Unconditional love should not be mistaken with unconditional dedication: unconditional dedication refers to an act of the will irrespective of feelings (e.g. a person may consider they have a duty to stay with a person); unconditional love is an act of the feelings irrespective of will.

This is explanations in dictionary . I thought looking to this scene on the beach , What kind love or admiration or dedication have this dog for this woman eating juicy hamburger , or its training?
I wanted to show how dog sees the world. in his colors. I get to search how dog sees colors,;surprisingly . I find a lot controversy , some writing they sees in yellow and blue ( like I did here ) but searching more I find " they do not see color ", or see "green and red " and Et cetera
I still do not know how dog sees the world but I think he able to love unconditionally.

I never really understood the "unconditional love" thing until this little boy came along. Obviously I have my own children and I love them with all my heart. But even as they were infants, you start to think about the responsibilities of time and finances that go along with raising children.
The relationship between a grandfather and grandson is based purely on love. The joy of just watching that little person do the simplest of things.
I am not trying to sound cold-hearted about raising my own children, but as a new grandfather, there is a difference. It kind of makes you wish you could go back and do it all over again, and this time, do a better job.
This is my first completed sketch on iPad using the Zen Brush app.
During my 15-minute coffee break at work, I began to process my thoughts about Christmas. We all know about the celebration of Jesus Christ's birthday, but what does it really mean? Shopping malls playing Christmas music all the time to get the holiday "spirit" going. But we all know they don't mean it, because it's all about marketing, selling, and pushing people to go spend their hard-earned money. They buy to give as gifts. It's about GIVING.
"And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins." -Matthew 1:21 (KJV)
He is the greatest gift. All you have to do is to accept Him as your own personal Savior and the Lord of your life.
May we all find the true meaning of Christmas in our hearts.
MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL OF YOU, MY DEAR FRIENDS!
A prayer
I want to believe
I need to believe
when one door slams at my face
with pain and harshness
another door will open up
gently, wide and free
and I will find a new path
to walk along
with love and friendship
unconditionally.
Unconditional Surrender, a monumental 25-foot sculpture depicting the famous D-Day kiss, was cast by J. Seward Johnson in 2005. Unconditional Surrender debuted as a bronze life-size sculpture in Times Square on August 14, 2005. A 25-foot styrofoam version was part of a temporary exhibition in Sarasota, Florida. he then started making 25-foot versions out of plastic and aluminum, which have been installed in San Diego and New Jersey
On August 14, 1945, a crowd of 750,000 people gathered in Times Square, eyes eyes fixed on the Times Tower. At 7:03pm, the words finally blazed across the news zipper: “OFFICIAL – TRUMAN ANNOUNCES JAPANESE SURRENDER.” Times Square exploded in a collective cry of joy and relief. By 10pm, the crowd had swelled to more than 2 million, as New Yorkers flooded the Square. ..The moment was famously captured by Alfred Eisenstaedt, who was in the square when he spotted a sailor "running along the street grabbing any and every girl in sight." Just south of 45th Street, looking north, he famously snapped a photo of the sailor kissing a nurse, with neither of their faces clearly shown, which ran in Time Life magazine with the caption, "In New York's Times Square a white-clad girl clutches her purse and skirt as an uninhibited sailor plants his lips squarely on hers." Johnson's Unconditional Surrender, however, is modeled after a photograph taken by U.S. Navy photo journalist Victor Jorgensen entitled, Kissing the War Good Bye, which captured another view of the same scene and was published in the New York Times the following day. Jorgensen's photo, unlike Eisenstaedt's, remains in the public domain.
Seward Johnson: The Retrospective was scheduled to be on exhibition at the Grounds For Sculpture from May 4 to September 21, 2014 but due to overwhelming popularity, was extended through July 2015. The exhibit presents an overview of the New Jersey sculptor's 50-year career through a lifetime collection of over 150 of his works. In its first month on exhibit, the park attracted 30,000 visitors—nearly 20 percent of its normal annual attendance.
Grounds For Sculpture is a 42-acre sculpture park and museum located on the former site of the New Jersey State Fairgrounds in Hamilton Township. The grounds, which feature over 270 large scale contemporary sculptures, were founded in 1992 by John Seward Johnson II.

Don’t you just love the book Song of Songs? I can’t wait for the day when God completes His work in me and my future wife so that we may be able to not only get married in God’s time but also honour Him in our marriage life.
And since I am in the mood of love I will leave you with some love songs and romantic music!
Secret Garden - Bruce Springsteen
www.youtube.com/watch?v=vGOo7TGwPAU
I don’t necessary believe in the lyrics. I believe that there is nothing you can do to make someone genuinely love you. But I do believe that both spouses need to work hard to obey God’s word to make their marriage work. I do not believe we should change to make someone love us, but we change because that someone already loves us and our change (for better) and sacrifices are our way of saying “I love you” back to that person. We love God because He loved us first the Bible says.
I worked in a warehouse for 3 years and I had no clue if I would ever go back to school or not, because I wanted to obey Him in His timing in regard to continuing my education, and I had no clue what His will was for my future career. Throughout those 3 years I kept praying to Him to show me His will, to show me what talents He had given me and what should I study to gain the skills to improve those talents.
Because my job was tiresome and paid minimum wages I was constantly tired and careful of how to spend the money I earned. That very much depressed me because I constantly thought about how I would provide for my future wife and kids if I ever get married and still working in the warehouse. I avoided looking at jewellery stores because they reminded me that I could not buy expensive gifts for my future wife. One day I broke down in the warehouse in a break-time and I told Him that I was ready--I was not running from His will for my life anymore--I truly wanted to follow His plan for my future career. Few months later He made His will very clear to me and now I have already finished my first year in university.
I also want to say that if we don’t strive to please the other person, then we don’t love them. (Be very aware of this, if you are in a relationship where the other person is not trying to please you--to hold tight to you so they won’t lose you--then more than likely they don’t love you—you don’t mean much to them.) Imagine if God did not send His Son to die for our sins, but simply wrote us a love letter! How much of help would that be when we end up in hell because of our many great sins?
Yes, giving our all hurts very deeply, just ask God and His Son, but we cannot afford the alternative: living all the years of our lives without experiencing, and more importantly expressing genuine, sacrificial, and unconditional love.

By entering the Sweepstakes, all entrants grant an irrevocable, perpetual, worldwide non-exclusive license to Authorized Parties, to reproduce, distribute, display and create derivative works of the entries (along with a name credit) in connection with the Sweepstakes and promotion of the Sweepstakes, in any media now or hereafter known, including, but not limited to, display at a potential exhibition of winners, or online highlighting entries or winners of the Sweepstakes. Authorized Parties will not be required to pay any additional consideration or seek any additional approval in connection with such use.
Limit: One (1) entry per person for each Sweepstakes/Promotion Period. Entries made on another’s behalf by any other individuals or any other entity, including but not limited to commercial contest/sweepstakes subscription notification and/or entering services, will be declared invalid and disqualified for the Sweepstakes. Tampering with the entry process or the operation of the Sweepstakes is prohibited and any entries deemed by Sponsor, in its sole discretion, to have been submitted in this manner will be void. In the event a dispute regarding the identity of the individual who actually submitted an entry cannot be resolved to Sponsor’s satisfaction, the affected entry will be deemed ineligible.

i miss my grandmother every day ~ she was someone very special to me ~ the only one in my family that loved me unconditionally ... and she had a unique way of making each person feel special ~ i was the "first grandchild" ... my brother was "the only grandson" ... she and my daughter, jaimie, were "the bookends" ... the youngest and the oldest ...
i couldn't let the day pass without having carnations ... as a little girl, she would always give me carnations for special occasions and whenever i smell the fragrance of a carnation, i think of my grandmother ...
