Point Roberts is a pene-exclave of the United States on the southernmost tip of the Tsawwassen Peninsula, south of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The area, which had a population of 1,314 at the 2010 census, is reached by land by traveling 25 mi (40 km) through Canada. It is a census-designated place (CDP) in Whatcom County, Washington with a post office, and a ZIP Code of 98281. Direct sea and air connections with the U.S. are available across Boundary Bay.
Point Roberts was created when the United Kingdom and the United States settled the Pacific Northwest American-Canadian border dispute in the mid-19th century with the Oregon Treaty. Both parties agreed the 49th parallel would delineate both countries' territories, but they overlooked the small area that incorporates Point Roberts (south of the 49th parallel). Questions about ceding the territory to the United Kingdom and later to Canada have been raised since its creation but its status has remained unchanged.

2021-11-06, Saturday afternoon, a walk through Zons with Flickr friend Only Klaus.
The mill tower, which was probably built around 1390 from basalt ashlar and field fire bricks, was designed as a windmill tower when it was built as a south-western corner and defensive tower of the city fortifications of Zons. According to the latest findings, the Zonser Mühle was already equipped with a rotatable, lobed hood and an internal agitator.
Since the shutdown over 100 years ago, the entire internal mill technology has been included
Fortunately, the grinder and gears have remained unchanged to this day.

King Nikola's Palace, Bar, Montenegro
The nineteenth-century palace of King Nicholas is one of the most important monuments of the city of Bar. It consists of two buildings - a large and smaller palace, as well as a chapel, ballroom, guardhouse and garden in which you can admire the rich Mediterranean vegetation. Currently, there is a museum that presents royal and noble costumes, furniture, collections related to the history of the city and ethnographic collections.
The palace was built in 1885, right on the seafront. Its architect was Josip Slade. Initially, it was the summer residence of King of Montenegro Nicholas I Petrovic-Niegosz and his family. Later, the king gave it to his daughter, Princess Zorka, and now it is a state building.
The monument is well preserved and basically unchanged since its inception. Only the wooden bridge for the boat disappeared. In addition to performing a museum function, the building also hosts many festivals and cultural events.
Valtesiniko, Gortynia, Arcadia, Peloponnesus peninsula, Greece.
Valtesiniko is a mountain village in the Prefecture of Arcadia. It is built at an altitude of 1,118 meters on a slope of northern Mainalo and is one of the most mountainous settlements. It has been declared a traditional settlement, considered that has kept unchanged the image it had in the past as well as its local character. One kilometer away from the village is the site of Lenika, where ruins of an ancient city, a temple and Mycenaean walls were discovered. In 1939 the first excavations were made by the French Archaeological Society, according to which the temple is from the 7th century BC, dedicated to the goddess Artemis. At the top of Paleokastro are the ruins of a medieval fortress. The village was the base of General Theodoros Kolokotronis during the Revolution of 1821 and especially after the arrival of Ibrahim and the fierce clashes with the Egyptian army. Ibrahim campaigned five times against Kolokotronis, who successfully repulsed them.

Monschau
(French: Montjoie, Walloon: Mondjoye)
The town is located in the hills of the North Eifel, within the Hohes Venn – Eifel Nature Park in the narrow valley of the Rur river.
The historic town center has many preserved half-timbered houses and narrow streets have remained nearly unchanged for 300 years, making the town a popular tourist attraction nowadays. An open-air, classical music festival is staged annually at Burg Monschau. Historically, the main industry of the town was cloth-mills.

The cloister was begun in 1240 and the Chapter House between 1263 and 1284 form a perfect square and measuring the same as the ship.
The cloister of the Cathedral of Salisbury is not only the largest in Britain, but the oldest and has remained unchanged.
This picture was taken million times. I took it 30 years, 20 years, 10 years ago and last week and it is almost unchanged. That is almost a miracle in a city of constant change.
Leuty Lifeguard house was build around 1920 and actually designed by architects (Chapman, Oxley & Bishop). It is one of the few historical waterfront structures remaining in the city. It was last renovated in 2017, when it was raised on pilings.

Shot with CIZ 1800mm f4.0 👻 Most people don’t care about technical parts with your photos much, they just love to see the beautiful pictures Even you shoot with any gears.
I was playing with CIZ, If you have Sony body you should try CIZ mode. CIZ-Clear Image Zoom is an in-camera function that enables you to zoom in 2x with any lens you own. The best part? Unlike cropping and normal interpolation, you lose little if any detail when you zoom in, your file size remains unchanged, and there's zero light loss-the maximum aperture of your f/4.0 lens remains f/4.0 even when you double the image magnification.
Church of St. Mary Magdalene (Přední Kopanina)
The Rotunda of St. Mary Magdalene in Prague-Přední Kopanina is a Romanesque rotunda, standing on the very northwestern edge of Prague, in the middle of the Přední Kopanina district. The rotunda falls under the administration of the Roman Catholic parish in Tuchoměřice.
The unplastered building of the church dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene is led out of small marl blocks, probably mined directly from the local quarry, which is still a well-known source of this material. The central part of the church is a round nave, the interior of which measures over five meters across, on the east side a semicircular apse joins the nave, on the west side a slender tower with an approximately square floor plan. Research in 1983 showed that this layout of the church is original, from the time of its construction, which is not documented in more detail, but is generally placed in the first half of the 12th century.
The presence of the portal on the floor of the south wall of the tower, interpreted as the entrance to the porch, may then indicate for this period the existence of a manor house in the vicinity of this side of the church.
A rectangular extension was later attached to the south side of the rotunda, which currently serves as the main nave, while the rotunda became a presbytery and the tower serves as a sacristy. The functional arrangement of the church is thus today, in contrast to the usual orientation to the east, rotated by 90 degrees.
The current appearance of the church of St. Mary Magdalene is the result of modern adaptations. After the collapse of the vault in 1779, the rotunda was left to its fate for a long time. It was not until 1852 to 1858 that an extensive renovation was carried out according to the project of Karel Wiesenfeld (1802-1870), a long-time professor of civil engineering at the Prague Polytechnic (this is the only case of Wiesenfeld's own construction work). The vault was then restored with a wooden structure instead of a stone one, the tower was noticeably raised, new window openings were made (only two windows are considered unchanged, medieval today, one on the ground floor of the west side of the tower, the other on the southeast side of the apse).
The marl altar relief with a scene of the Crucifixion, of uncertain age, perhaps from the second half of the 17th century, stands out from the furniture of the church. It is also worth mentioning the painting Adoration of the Magi with the side figures of St. Wenceslas and St. Ludmila by Josef Hellich from 1861 and the painting of St. Mary Magdalene by Vilém Kandler. The Gothic sandstone baptistery has been preserved from the older equipment. The stained glass windows date from the 1990s. So far, the last reconstruction of the building was completed in 2000.

Annecy is the capital of Haute-Savoie, which has about 50,000 inhabitants and is a city located on Lake Annecy, surrounded by alpine peaks. The city is a real pearl with beautiful buildings - often called French or Alpine Venice.
The Thiou River creates islands and canals that cross the Old Town making it similar to Venice. On the hill above the lake there is a magnificent castle-fortress. It was built in the 12th century, after the fires it was rebuilt in an unchanged form but with limited wood. Until 1947, there were military barracks here, and since 1953 it has been owned by the City.

My three previous posts have shown views of the south side of Virginia's Courthouse Square as seen from the southwest corner of the block. This photograph shows the first four buildings on the block's southeast corner. Although I took this photo in 2015, the buildings are basically unchanged today.
The most interesting of these structures is the old drugstore, which cleverly had been repurposed as a cafe and live entertainment venue known as Dr. Ugs. Sadly, Dr. Ugs closed earlier this year (2021).
The "drugstore" building was constructed in 1897, replacing an earlier structure consumed in the same fire on the south side of the square that destroyed the Farmers National Bank Building, which preceded the Robertson "Tower" Building shown in my three previous posts. The new "drugstore" building was constructed for a furniture store that expanded into selling caskets, along with providing undertaking services for local funeral homes. While this may sound a bit odd today, it was not unusual for furniture stores in the late 19th and early 20th century to sell caskets, and even provide undertaking services.
In 1939, the furniture store was repurposed as the first of three drug stores to occupy these premises. Later on, the building became the home of two bars and the now shuttered Dr. Ugs. The building is currently (September 2021) up for sale.

Schloss Dyck (Dyck Castle) is one of the most beautiful moated castles in Europe. The original castle was build in 1094 but during the ensuing wars much of the castle was destroyed. However, between 1636 - 1663 it was re-build and has remained, for the most part, unchanged since.
Last Saturday we discovered the picturesque harbour of Charlestown after our trip to the Eden Project. We picked that destination almost randomly, just wanting to spend some time at the sea before driving back home. It was our first time in Charlestown and we were really delighted. The harbour is even an UNESCO world heritage site and is almost unchanged from the 17th century. It looks like a proper pirate bay! The award winning Cornish golden vanilla ice cream nicely finished off our visit!
The Church of St. Wojciech in Chrzypsko Wielkie was built in the years 1600–1609 and has remained almost unchanged until now. The building is one of the last churches built in the Gothic style in Greater Poland. It is a single-aisle building with a wooden ceiling.
In the main altar from the 17th and 18th centuries, there is a painting of St. Wojciech, painted in 1863.

The house had been the home of the Dryden family since its construction in the 16th century; the manor house was built in approximately 1550 with additions in the 1590s, in the 1630s and 1710.The interior of the house is noted for its Elizabethan wall paintings and its Jacobean plasterwork. It has remained essentially unchanged since 1710 and is presented as it was during the time of Sir Henry Edward Leigh Dryden (1818–1899), a Victorian antiquary with an interest in history. His daughter, the historian and photographer Alice Dryden (1866–1956) was born in the house and lived there for 33 years. She moved away after her father died, since a woman could not inherit the estate and it went to her uncle, Sir Alfred Erasmus Dryden
St Nicholas’ Church
Situated in Arne Road, Arne, DORSET BH20 5BJ
The church was built in the early 13th century by the order of the Abbess of Shaftsbury and dedicated to St Nicholas of Myra. The building was first a chantry (a building dedicated to the saying of prayers or singing of hymns). It was then annexed by the Holy Trinity Church, Wareham as a Chapel of Ease (St Nicholas was a church used by the parishioners of Wareham to attend when it was too difficult to attend their main church).
The church consists of a body and a chancel, under one roof with a porch and a buttress. The architecture is early English. The East window is a triple lancet and can be used to dating the church to about 1220. There are a few other 13th lancet windows on both north and south walls. The walls are ironstone and the roof is tiled and partly stone slates. It is remarkably unchanged since its early construction.
There is a bell but no tower. The bell is hung in the roof space at the west end of the church. The original bell was installed in 1625 but then replaced in 1782. This new bell cast by the company Chapman and Mears. There were restorations in the 19th century and in 1952 but I cannot find out what they were.
The church is sat upon a mound and has a fine view from the altar window over the harbour. It has also won an award for the quality of wildflowers in the Churchyard.

Oostermeer is a well-preserved 18th century country house on the Amstel, within the municipality of Amstelveen. It has been a national monument since 2009 (no. 530662)
The site where a guest house stood until the 16th century was bought in 1648 by the Amsterdam merchant Jacob Verhaijck. He gives it the name Oostermeer, referring to its location to the east of the former Pancrasmeertje, which was filled in in 1843. One Josina Spruit buys the country estate in 1722, and leaves it to her son Willem Bus in 1727, who has a mansion built there after a design by Ignatius van Logteren, with his son Jan taking care of the stucco work inside. The building was completed in 1728. The house and interior are designed in Louis XIV style, and have remained virtually unchanged. The wrought iron entrance gate with carved pillars and bridge also dates from the time of construction. In 1757, Nicolaas Freher becomes the new owner, who has a tea house (dome) built and a barge house on the Amstel. After this, the estate changed hands a few more times, with the garden being redesigned in 1902 by landscape architect Leonard Springer, in a combination of French and English style. The 18th century garden sculptures still present in the garden are special.
How the US penny has evolved through three centuries. The 1851 version is known as the Large Cent. The 1857 is called a Flying Eagle penny. The 1909 was known as an Indian Head penny. The other 1909 penny is known as the Lincoln cent or penny. The current, 21st century version of the US penny remains unchanged since 1909, amazingly (it has changed on the reverse, but not the front). HMM!

Columns of the cloisters in Monreale are an integral part of the Benedictine monastery. The whole with the cathedral was built by King William II. They are an example of the Sicilian Romanesque sculpture and have survived to our times in almost unchanged form. The arcades occupy a square area of 47 m. There are arcades in which richly carved double columns support archers.

Historisches Konstanz
Historic Constance
Constance still has an incredibly well-preserved old town, which has existed almost unchanged for centuries. This is mainly due to the fact that the old town suffered no significant damage, neither in the Thirty Years' War nor in the Second World War. And so many houses still stand today where they stood four hundred years ago. Take a moment and imagine maid merchants walking through the very same alleys you are standing in right now! And they have already seen the same houses as you. Only possibly with a slightly different coat of paint.
They are virtually unchanged in that time, having survived the calamity which befell the dinosaurs. What's their secret?

La Binerie Mont-Royal is a lunch counter-style restaurant in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, specializing in traditional Quebec cuisine, including its signature baked beans.
Founded in 1938 by Léonide Lussier, the restaurant was the setting of Yves Beauchemin's novel and film Le Matou (1985), which was filmed on location. The business was purchased by new owners Jocelyne and Philippe Brunet in 2005, but largely remains unchanged. In addition to its trademark beans, the restaurant serves such traditional fare as tourtières, Pâté chinois (French for "Chinese pie"), pouding chômeur, pea soup and spruce beer.
The restaurant is located on Mount Royal Avenue, in the city's Plateau Mont-Royal borough.
-----------
After seeing the movie, it took several years before someone told me that La Binerie was a real restaurant. Then, it took some years before I learned where the restaurant was located. It took sometime before I decided to go eat there but, when I got there, the restaurant was closed for summer holidays. So, finally, yesterday, I was able to eat there for the 1st time in my life (30 years after seeing the movie). They say that patience is a virtue....
Finn Slough Heritage Area.
Immigrants from Finland in the 1920s created this unplanned and unregulated part of Richmond, British Columbia. There's a road to the area, but most of the dwellings are only accessible by boardwalks or boat.

The Stavronikita Monastery is 15th in class monasteries of Mount Athos. It is Greek, communal since 1968 and celebrated on December 6 St. Nicholas. It holds the miraculous icon of St. Nicholas of oysters. It called so, because when they took it out of the sea that had remained unchanged for hundrend years, in front of Saitn it was stuck an oyster that when pulled ran blood. It is the smallest monastery of Mount Athos, in the castle form a rudimentary court. The arbor is near the entrance of the monastery compensates the visitor. Situated on a rock, but who some years ago began to disintegrate. Thanks to the interventions K.E.D.A.K., this rock was reinforced with cement injections and thus stabilized. The aqueduct is located outside the monastery with arches, it is very remarkable architecturally.
The highland breed of cattle has a long and distinguished ancestry, not only in its homeland of western Scotland, but also in many far-flung parts of the world. One of Britain's oldest, most distinctive, and best known breeds, with a long, thick, flowing coat of rich hair and majestic sweeping horns, the Highlander has remained largely unchanged over the centuries.

The knee-saddle on Amrum is an ever-changing living medium of an incomprehensible expanse, a desert in the North Sea. There are not two hours in which the knee-joint remains unchanged. Wind, water, sun and rain always leave their mark. A place for meditation and reflection.
There's something tranquil and reassuring about being beside the sea. This view of Cullen Bay must have been much the same over decades, even centuries. It remains unchanged when we seem to be standing on shifting sands in our personal, economic and political lives.

Scientific Investigation: Does the DISTANCE between two different kinds of seeds sowed and grown in a greenhouse have any statistically significant impact on the fruit ?
Material and Methods
Three strawberry and three banana seeds;
each of the two kinds sowed in a distance of 1, 1 ½ and 3 inches to each other;
grown under identical conditions in a greenhouse at 25 °C
Results
1 inch: Unidentified fruit- impossible to determine whether fruit was a strawberry or a banana;
3 inches:Switch of Colour - banana fruit RED instead of yellow; YELLOW strawberry instead of red; aroma unidentified; no statistical significance
1 ½ inches: First Ripe Hybrid on April 1st:
Hybrid named “StrawBana” = half strawberry, half banana, typical fruit colour and taste unchanged in either of the halves;
[ statistical significance (p< 2%) ]
Proof and Hardware:
pl. see Macro of the "StrawBana" (1 ¼”x 1 ¾“) above:
SOOC (Straight out of the camera, no edit, no Photoshop);
taken on April 1st, 2019;

Conclusion
- " #AprilFools ARE EVERYWHERE, today !"
- "ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE IN WALES !"
- "This #Strawbana prototype was very delicious !"
- "Believe it or not !!! - If in doubt, give it a try !"
- in any case: 😄HAPPY MACRO MONDAY😄

Remnants of an old pier, the only visual remains of a once booming, Salmon canning industry.
Dating back to the turn of the century.
Washington (State)--Point Roberts
Well over a hundred years ago, this would have been a busy fishing port.
Today, we can only imagine the sights of the heavily loaded fishing vessels tied up alongside this pier, and the hardworking employees bustling the catch of the day, up and down the pier.
On the horizon you will have left USA waters and entered Canadian waters, BC Canada
On a closer look you may see the perched Seagulls

Life's a vast sea
That does its mighty errand without fail,
Painting in unchanged strength though waves are changing.
George Eliot, Spanish Gypsy
This is probably my favourite Silo Art and is one of the highlights of the tiny town of Sea Lake.
The GrainCorp Silos at Sea Lake were painted by Joel Fergie, aka The Zookeeper and Travis Vinson, aka Drapl in October 2019.
Below is the link describing the inspiration for this artwork.
www.australiansiloarttrail.com/sea-lake
"For millennia this lake has existed, unchanged and untouched. It is a place of wonder and story. In this ever increasing busy day and age, people universally long for space and solitude."
On this particular evening, I decided against going out to photograph sunset. Instead, I sat outside in the lovely shared common area of our accommodation to read my book.
Bloody Murphy's Law kicked in and of course it was the only real sunset colour of the entire trip. I looked up from my book when I noticed the orange reflection on a window. I ran out to peer down the road land saw the Silo Art glowing with colour. I grabbed the camera, put on those stinky thongs and drove down to the art work. Took a wrong turn in my haste and ended up driving onto the adjacent paddock to get to the site ;-). Just making it to catch the artwork set beautifully against the backdrop of the glowing sky.
Doune Castle is a medieval stronghold near the village of Doune, in the Stirling district of central Scotland. The castle is sited on a wooded bend where the Ardoch Burn flows into the River Teith. It lies 8 miles (13 kilometres) northwest of Stirling, where the Teith flows into the River Forth. Upstream, 8 miles (13 kilometres) further northwest, the town of Callander lies at the edge of the Trossachs, on the fringe of the Scottish Highlands.
Recent research has shown that Doune Castle was originally built in the thirteenth century, then probably damaged in the Scottish Wars of Independence, before being rebuilt in its present form in the late 14th century by Robert Stewart, Duke of Albany (c. 1340–1420), the son of King Robert II of Scots, and Regent of Scotland from 1388 until his death. Duke Robert's stronghold has survived relatively unchanged and complete, and the whole castle was traditionally thought of as the result of a single period of construction at this time. The castle passed to the crown in 1425, when Albany's son was executed, and was used as a royal hunting lodge and dower house. In the later 16th century, Doune became the property of the Earls of Moray. The castle saw military action during the Wars of the Three Kingdoms and Glencairn's rising in the mid-17th century, and during the Jacobite risings of the late 17th century and 18th century. By 1800 the castle was ruined, but restoration works were carried out in the 1880s, prior to its passing into state care in the 20th century. It is now maintained by Historic Environment Scotland.
Due to the status of its builder, Doune reflected current ideas of what a royal castle building should be. It was planned as a courtyard with ranges of buildings on each side, although only the northern and north-western buildings were completed. These comprise a large tower house over the entrance, containing the rooms of the Lord and his family, and a separate tower containing the kitchen and guest rooms. The two are linked by the great hall. The stonework is almost all from the late 14th century, with only minor repairs carried out in the 1580s. The restoration of the 1880s replaced the timber roofs and internal floors, as well as interior fittings.
Alex Pangman at one of her rare performances in public in the last 2 years. She had two lung transplants, so she is immune compromised and careful to stay healthy. She had mostly on-line concerts during the lockdowns. A miracle that she is still singing. Her voice is unchanged even in comparison when she had her own lungs.
