REVEALED: Sushant Singh Rajput and Bhumi Pednekar to shoot for Abhishek Chaubey film Chumbal in January
Over a month ago, we had reported that Bhumi Pednekar has been signed on for a film with Sushant Singh Rajput. While the actress then was busy with the promotions of two of her back-to-back releases, now she is all set to move further for her next venture which is the Abhishek Chaubey directorial on dacoits. Reports have it that she will start shooting for the film early next year.
While this will be the first film which will have Bhumi Pednekar cast opposite Sushant Singh Rajput, the two are said to play the role of dacoits. The actors will also have to undergo extensive prep for the same. Although Bhumi will have time to focus on the same, Sushant is surrounded with films like Chanda Mama Door Ke and Kedarnath due to which the actor may have a packed schedule until next year. Hence, reportedly, the film is slated to go on floor in January.
In fact, almost a month ago, co-writer Sudip Sharma had visited Chambal for recee and has even scouted locations for the film. As of now, the team is working on other details. Set in the 70s, the period film will trace the stories of dacoit culture which the place is famous for and is produced by Ronnie Screwvala.

Ford Explorer carbon monoxide concerns have caused a class-action lawsuit that alleges exhaust fumes and poisonous gas enters the cabins of the SUVs while driving.
Plaintiffs Suresh Persad, Daniel G. Wright and Robert S. Drummond filed the class-action lawsuit that includes all consumers in the U.S. who purchased or leased 2016-2017 Ford Explorers.
The SUVs allegedly have defective exhaust and HVAC (heating, ventilation and air conditioning) systems that allow carbon monoxide to sicken occupants.
Based on court documents, Ford allegedly concealed its knowledge of the carbon monoxide dangers while the automaker was swamped with complaints about exhaust fumes entering Explorer cabins.
Plaintiff Suresh Persad purchased a new 2016 Ford Explorer in Georgia, a vehicle he still owns. Persad says he detected exhaust fumes in the cabin and took the Explorer to a Ford dealer. Technicians allegedly drove the SUV but could find no evidence of exhaust fumes and said there was no need for repairs.
Pennsylvania plaintiff Daniel G. Wright says he purchased a used 2016 Ford Explorer only to suffer from headaches the past year due to exhaust fumes. The lawsuit doesn't say if Wright took his SUV to a dealer for repairs.
Plaintiff Robert S. Drummond purchased a new 2017 Ford Explorer in Pennsylvania, a vehicle he still owns. But Drummond claims he has detected exhaust fumes inside the SUV while driving. The lawsuit doesn't say if Drummond took his SUV to a dealer for repairs.
The plaintiffs claim multiple areas of the SUVs can allow exhaust and carbon monoxide fumes to enter the cabins:
Bumpers and/or tailpipes
Rear air extractors and auxiliary air conditioning systems
Drain valves in the liftgates
Sheet metal panels and overlaps
Joints and seems
The lawsuit references technical service bulletins (TSBs) issued to dealers from Ford, something the plaintiffs claim proves the automaker knew about the carbon monoxide concerns.
In December 2012, Ford issued TSB 12-12-4 informing dealers of complaints of exhaust fumes in 2011-2013 Ford Explorers.
In July 2014, Ford issued TSB 14-0130 to include model year 2014 and 2015 Ford Explorers. The updated bulletin told dealers that “[s]ome 2011-2015 Explorer vehicles may exhibit an exhaust odor in the vehicle with the auxiliary climate control system on. Customers may indicate the odor smells like sulfur.”
TSB 14-0130 suggested the following repairs for dealers to try:
Reprogram the HVAC system
Replace the left side rear air extractor
Inspect the drain valves and install new drain valves if needed
Seal the rear horizontal sheet metal lap joints and the rear sheet metal overlap flanges
Apply undercoating to the auxiliary air conditioning lines and sealed areas
Neither TSB 12-12-4 nor TSB 14-0130 mention carbon monoxide dangers and the plaintiffs claim the numerous possible "fixes" shows Ford has no clue how to permanently repair the problems.
Although the TSBs had been issued and possible problems in Police Interceptor SUVs were allegedly caused by unsealed gaps and holes, in July 2017 Ford said “[d]rivers of regular, non-police Ford Explorers have no reason to be concerned.”
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) got involved in 2016 and opened an investigation into exhaust odors in the cabins of 2011-2015 Ford Explorers. NHTSA then expanded the investigation while learning about hundreds of complaints about exhaust fumes and odors.
As of July 2017, NHTSA has received nearly 800 complaints of exhaust odors in 2011-2017 civilian and police Ford Explorers.
In response to the exhaust odor concerns, Ford reported 485 owner complaints, 1254 warranty claims, 606 dealer field reports and 55 legal claims that involved 2,051 SUVs. Some of those owners reported occupants getting sick from possible carbon monoxide poisoning.
The investigation continues, but NHTSA did report exhaust odors in Explorer Police Interceptors may be caused by cracked exhaust manifolds.
Ford told the judge the lawsuit should be dismissed because the Explorers are safe and customers are always welcome to take advantage of free programs to repair potential exhaust leaks. The automaker also argued the plaintiffs are alleging design defects in the SUVs, something not covered by warranties.
However, the judge said it's too early in the legal process to rule exactly what may be causing alleged exhaust fumes.
“At this stage of the litigation, plaintiffs’ allegations are sufficient to sustain that the exhaust fume defect is covered by the applicable warranties.” – Judge Terrence Berg
Ford also argued 2016-2017 Explorer owners must have known about possible problems due to publicity from possible exhaust problems in older Explorers, but the judge ruled the owners had no way of knowing.
In the end, Ford's motion to dismiss the Explorer carbon monoxide lawsuit was denied on every claim.
The Ford Explorer carbon monoxide class-action lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan, Southern Division – Suresh Persad, et al., v. Ford Motor Company.

Choosing a grinder for home use is not easy when you consider the price difference between many household brands and the smaller compact models manufactured by commercial brands for the domestic market. In this month’s article, Ben Bicknell, our Coffee Quality Specialist, provides a bit of insight into the different burr types to help in making an informed decision.
Many of us are distracted by the metallic glitter of an espresso machine — we love the chrome curves, delight in the purr of the pump and cradle the comforting weight of the portafilter. Wiping the drool from our chin, we measure out pre-ground coffee into our basket… and out pours a thin, watery shot from our pride and joy — that’s really not so great!
After a couple of weeks of caffeinated experimentation, most people start to recognise that the quality of the raw products we use and the way we handle them while brewing our coffee, all have an impact on the final quality in the cup.
The coffee grinder is a supremely important link in the chain that extends from the coffee cherry to an exquisite espresso!
Exposure to air (oxidisation) is the single biggest factor in turning roasted coffee stale, so it’s fairly easy to understand the importance of grinding your coffee freshly. Can you picture the surface area of one coffee bean? Now imagine the surface area of that same bean ground up into 100 particles — a huge increase in the area exposed to air, and hence a huge decrease in the lifespan of the coffee. The rule of thumb for producing the best espresso is to use your coffee beans within three to four weeks of roasting. The rule of thumb for ground coffee is to use the coffee three to five minutes after grinding!
The best cafés in the world all ‘grind on demand’ or ‘grind by the cup’. This means that they’re only grinding the small portion of coffee they need to make the drinks that have been ordered. This technique is worth mastering at home, especially as the time between coffees in your kitchen café is likely to be a lot longer than for a commercial operation!
But which grinder is best? There is almost as much marketing haze over the choice of coffee grinders as there is hovering over the subject of home espresso machines, so I’ll break it down a little.
There are three main types of machines which separate your whole coffee beans into smaller, more soluble particles. There’s the generic ‘whirly blade’ grinder (or spice mill), the flat burr grinder and the conical burr grinder.
The ‘whirly blade’ grinders were really popular in the ‘80s when they were considered the epitome of coffee cool. While they certainly do break up the beans, ’randomly smash’ might be a more accurate description; the spinning blades in these grinders produce a variety of particle sizes from large chunks to small bits of dust. I made my fair share of plunger coffee using one of these grinders in my student days, and the sludge that ends up at the bottom of the cup from using these very fine grinds is not an enjoyable way to finish a great coffee. I recommend that these grinders be reserved for spice blitzing only — they barely achieve the desired result for coffee, will degrade the overall quality of your flavour and rarely reach the fine consistency needed for espresso brewing.
The other types of grinders are the flat burr and the conical burr grinders. Flat burr grinders have two parallel discs with sharp ‘teeth’ notched along them — one stays stationary while the other spins, grinding the beans between them. The benefit of using a burr grinder is that you will gain a consistent ground particle size and hence an even saturation of your coffee during brewing.
The conical burr grinder works in a similar manner but, as the name suggests, involves a cone shaped burr on the base rotating against a top burr. As they have a larger surface area, these grinders don’t need to rotate as quickly to produce the same volume of grinds. Fewer rotations means less friction, less friction means less heat transferred to the grinds and less heat on the grinds means that the volatile oils in your coffee don’t start evaporating. The end result? You get more flavour in your cup.

Filmmaker Apoorva Lakhia who turned 50 on Monday, couldn’t have hoped for a better birthday gift. The Central Board of Film Certification under its new chairperson Prasoon Joshi granted Apu’s on-release film Haseena Parkar an all-clear…almost.
Says the jubilant birthday boy, “They requested one word ‘charas’ to be muted and one cut where a woman is being shown being assaulted during riots. That’s it. I happily went with these cuts. No argument. The cuts made sense. I must say the Censor experience was quick and pleasant. We were in at 6 pm and out in a few hours. We got a ‘UA’ with hardly any cuts.”
Incidentally, last week’s release Arjun Rampal’s Arun Gawli biopic Daddy which featured Haseena Parkar’s notorious brother Dawood Ibrahim was granted an ‘Adults’ certificate during Pahlaj Nihalani’s tenure as the CBFC chairperson.

I recently think a lot about Gary Winogrand. His famous statement: “I photograph to see find out what something will look when photographed.” has a Post Scriptum. After his death in 1984, they found washtubs full of undeveloped film in his apartment.
From here, the interpretation takes different turns: He did not care how the world actually look, photographed or not. He cared enough for the world to care for the process of taking pictures of it. Rarely we see exhibitions with his late, undeveloped work. There once was an exhibition in New York with his colorwork, that vanished soon without much of a fuss. Whether his late work was any good or not vanishes under the question, what “good” in this regard even means.
The picture that was not meant to be developed. Restrict the photograph to the moment when it was taken, obliterate the moment when it was seen by others. Be close to yourself. There is something sad about this. There is something valid about this.

Neha Dhupia, who has now turned anchor and even judge for a couple of shows, recently went on to reveal a few secrets in an ‘unfiltered’ interview for Grazia during its edition last month. Diplo has finally spilled details on his Europa EP, including a drop date and a full tracklist. Hot off a recent Grammy win, the producer is setting himself up for another stellar release.
So far, we’ve heard “Boom Bye Bye” featuring Niska and “New Shapes” featuring Octavian and that’s only just a glimpse of what’s to come. New artwork reveals six total tracks with a variety of collaborators. Two down, four to go.
On his collab-heavy California EP, Diplo featured Lil Yachty & Santigold, Desiigner, DRAM, Trippie Redd, Lil Xan and MØ & GoldLink. This time around, he has enlisted in several different artists that will best express a new chapter of music.

It’s just one massive show announce after another for Swedish House Mafia! So, let’s get caught up, shall we?
It’s just been announced that the trio will play at Lollapalooza Berlin this year. They join Kings of Leon, Twenty One Pilots, and electronic/dance acts including Martin Garrix, Don Diablo, Claptone, Loud Luxury, and more. Fans have barely been given enough time to process this huge news and SHM is already hinting at another show on the horizon.
The next tour stop is not as straight forward, but we do have some big hints. Dawn Barlow, a Democrat running in Tennessee’s Congressional District 6 primary on August 2, makes no secret of her opposition to abortion rights.
Barlow is a doctor and the director of hospital medicine at Livingston Regional Hospital. She describes her political views as “moderate.” While her campaign platform includes several mainstream Democratic positions such as saving the Affordable Care Act (ACA), advocating for public education, raising the minimum wage, and supporting pay equality, she strays from much of the party—or at least its 2016 national platform—when it comes to reproductive rights.
Barlow’s campaign site does not highlight abortion as a key issue, but she is vocal on social media about being anti-choice. On Twitter, she has repeatedly said that she is a “pro-life Democrat, proudly endorsed by” the anti-choice group Democrats for Life of America (DFLA). Barlow shared a Facebook post from DFLA on June 20, adding “I’m not running away from my values—I’m running on them!”
It’s a theme she hit on when announcing her campaign. “For far too long, common sense has taken a backseat to political hyperpartisanship,” she said in a statement, according to the Overton County News. “I am a pro-life democrat who values human life at all its stages and will fight for the well-being of all Tennesseans.”
Barlow offered specifics about her views in a statement to Rewire.News. “I oppose abortion except in cases of rape or life of the mother. I support the Hyde Amendment which prohibits federal funding of abortion. I also oppose physician assisted suicide,” she said. “Taking human life is fundamentally incompatible with the role of a healer. During my medical education, training and practice, I’ve cared for patients in all stages of life and in all stages of pregnancy. I have a deep respect for human life in all its stages from the womb to the tomb. True reproductive justice will never be achieved as long as we refuse to acknowledge the basic fact that a human fetus is a human being.”
When it comes to policies she supports, Barlow pointed to the “Pregnant Women Support Act – Pregnancy Assistance Fund.” According to DFLA’s website, it is one of the organization’s “proudest accomplishments” and was introduced in Congress in hopes of reducing the number of abortions. Barlow said she would “work to improve the economic situation of women via support for raising the Federal Minimum Wage, support legislation for paid parental benefits, support Child Care For Working Families Act, support universal preK and support funding for before/after school programs.”
“Opposing abortion alone is simply not enough,” she said. “A whole life approach is necessary to save human life. I spend my life caring for others and saving lives. I want to continue that fight of caring for others and saving lives in Congress.”
She did not directly answer questions about whether she would support funding for Planned Parenthood or if she would seek to restrict abortion access if elected.
One of the candidates Barlow faces in the Democratic primary is Merrilee Wineinger, an ordained United Methodist Church minister who has out-raised her. Wineinger “believes in protecting a woman’s right to safe, accessible, affordable and high-quality reproductive health care, or as she calls it, reproductive justice,” according to a post from Wineinger’s campaign manager on Daily Kos.
Asked about Barlow’s DFLA endorsement, Wineinger said, “The organization seeks to achieve zero abortions, which is unrealistic. Should we all strive to make abortions a rare occurrence? Absolutely! However, should we make it more difficult for women to receive one? No.”
In another statement, Wineinger said: “Let me start out by declaring, No one is for abortion. I refuse to stand across the political divide screaming at each other. It gets us nowhere. Therefore, I declare that I am Pro-Reproductive Justice and will protect a woman’s right to a safe and legal abortion.” She went on to define reproductive justice as “the right for women to care for their whole being, to have children or not, and the right to take care of her family by earning equal pay, by accessing affordable, quality healthcare, and by providing a secure home in a safe neighborhood.”
If elected, Wineinger said she “will work for comprehensive reproductive health and family planning services to prevent unplanned pregnancies. I will fight for better policies and funding for family planning and access to affordable, high-quality health care.”
Christopher Martin Finley and Peter Heffernan also qualified to appear on the Democratic primary ballot for the district. No public polling appears to be available for the race.
The winners in this week’s primary will compete in November’s general election to replace Republican Rep. Diane Black, who is running in the state’s gubernatorial race. Black, a vocal opponent of reproductive rights, has aligned with anti-choice activists.
The Republicans running in the District 6 primary have noted anti-choice views. Multiple GOP candidates in the district have pulled in more than $1 million in fundraising.
The Inside Elections with Nathan Gonzales/Roll Call ratings rank the seat as “solid Republican.” The district voted for Trump by a 49-point margin in the 2016 presidential election, according to the Cook Political Report‘s 2017 Partisan Voter Index. Black won the seat when Democrat Bart Gordon retired in 2010 after serving 13 terms in Congress.

Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan grows vegetables, prunes trees in jail; earns Rs 20 per day
As the godman and filmmaker, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan was the owner of properties worth thousands of crores. But in jail, he’s just another prisoner working eight hours a day and earns Rs 20 for it.
The 50 year old self-styled godman and the master of Dera Sacha Sauda, who has almost 7 crore followers, is currently lodged in Sunaria jail in Rohtak, Haryana on charges of raping his two disciples. He was sentenced to twenty years of imprisonment, ten years each in two rape cases, on August 28 by a special CBI court. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan was pronounced guilty on August 25 by the court in Panchkula, after which his followers went on a rampage, destroying public property and injuring journalists and even policemen.
In jail, he has been stamped as prisoner no 1997. K P Singh, DGP (jails) in Haryana yesterday revealed that adjoining his barrack, there is a small plot of land where Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan grows vegetables and prunes tees. Whatever he produces will be used in the jail mess to feed other prisoners. He does his work for eight hours, which is the maximum number of hours a prisoner is allowed to work for.
K P Singh denied reports that Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan has been extended any special treatment and that there’s a TV in his cell. He in fact stated that the godman is a disciplined prisoner who is treated equally and is provided the same food as other prisoners. He also said that reports of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan breaking down in jail are baseless. Also false are the reports circulating in the media over his health. Moreover, K P Singh admitted that Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan has provided two telephone numbers to prison authorities – one of which is of his adopted daughter Honeypreet, and the other number is of the Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters in Sirsa. The police verification of his numbers however hasn’t been done. Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan has also provided the list of ten names who could meet him in the prison. Out of these ten, one of them is his mother who has already met him.
For security reasons, Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan has been lodged in a barrack with only few prisoners who have a track record of ‘good conduct’. Also, jail staff persons with impeccable record have been put on duty in and near his barrack.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insan became known nationwide after he turned to films. From February 2015 to May 2017, he acted in five films, all featuring him in leading roles and showing him as having incredible powers.

Hi guys, today the review will be short and simple. A few words would describe the forgettable experience of dining out at Café Milano Grand Indonesia mall. Welcome to Café Milano where you are guaranteed to meet one of the most snobbish staff you could probably face. The reservation desk had employees enjoying a long chat while I was waiting for them to pay some attention and finally when they got time they asked me if I wanted a table, (off-course not I came to say a hello on my way to the taxi stand,,,). Anyways that’s how the beginning was, moving ahead I must warn everyone this isn’t a place for non-smokers as there is no non-smoking zone. The lighting at the café is apt for fine dining and had a candle lite dinner feel but then again it’s totally on the waiters discretion to light the candle on your table.
There is no standard and the staff lacks proper training. It was evident that neither they were able to manage a small crowd just starting to build up on a Saturday evening nor they had intent to try.
Don’t expect that you will be provided with a desert spoon. The waiters are way too busy to provide those.
After taking a seat the waitress approached with the menu and kept on the table. She mumbled that if we needed any help we may call the waiter and while she was speaking she had already started to walk away – ” Lack of courtesy “. Having received a bad reception me and my friend wanted to just try the selection of desert and leave the place. We ordered Gelato Cocao – Tella and Tiramisu Cup. I would recommend Cocoa-Tella to everyone but Tiramisu Cup was a failure, it lacked the flavor that one would expect while ordering anything that contained Tiramisu. Refer to the image we were served large-sized spoons and no desert spoon was on offer. The waiting time was relatively high and not worth keeping in mind the overall experience. Here is how I would review Café Milano :

Final Verdict : A major disappointment, standard of service nowhere near that of a fine dine restaurant. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and sure not visiting this place ever again. The only thing to look forward is the ambience and food quality but that is ruined by the unacceptable standards of service.

Parmanu makers were clueless that three famous producers wanted to make a film on the same!Parmanu – The Story Of Pokhran had put its producers Arjun N Kapoor and Prernaa of KriArj Entertainment in a bit of a quandary when they announced the film. The film, directed by Abhishek Sharma, stars John Abraham (who is also co-producing and acting in the film) and Diana Penty, and revolves around the nuclear bomb test explosions conducted by India at the Indian Army’s Pokhran Test Range in 1998. What Arjun and Prernaa were not aware was the fact that three makers – Ashutosh Gowariker, Shoojit Sircar and Ritesh Sidhwani – were already in the running before they started the film. While Ashutosh called them up after they announced the film and gracefully bowed out of the running, Ritesh refused to give up the title Pokhran to John and KriArj when they asked him for it and that’s why they had to use the title of Parmanu for their film.
Ashutosh Gowariker says, “I have a very warm relationship with Prernaa and Arjun as I adore their passion towards filmmaking and good storytelling. As soon I came to know that KriArj was working on this film, we spoke, and then thereafter I spoke with John too. Parmanu is a lovely story and script and I am really looking forward to it.”
Prernaa Arora adds that when John and KriArj formed a company where they would co-produce films and work on scripts together, Abhishek Sharma met them and narrated a story on Pokhran. “When we heard it, we thought that John would be perfect in it. KriArj is very particular about content as you have seen in the kind of films we do, and we loved the story of Pokhran. It had a strong, patriotic story and an untold one. It was a very important subject for us. We told John who met with the director and loved the story and we decided to make the film on the spot. At that time, Arjun and I didn’t know about the career history of the film’s content or that others were making a film on the same subject as nobody had shared it with us before we came on board. It was only while developing the script that we found out through John that there were a few makers who were trying to make films on the same subject.”
Prernaa says that KriArj has always had great relationship love and respect for Gowariker and his work. “Arjun and I love his films and when Ashu sir came to know after John announced Parmanu that we were making a film on the same he was very humble and kind and said he would support us completely. That’s how we found out that Ashu sir was making the film. He is one of the finest directors of the country and we have a huge respect for him and his body of work. He not only congratulated us, but assured us of his co-operation in the film for any inputs as well. We are truly indebted to him.”
Arjun N Kapoor says, “When the story was proposed to us we weren’t aware that there were other filmmakers looking at doing a film on the same subject. Of course, this information and story available on public domain so nobody really has any copyright on this, but that being said we weren’t aware that there are such filmmakers, and such reputed ones, were planning to make a film on it. Ashu sir spoke to me first because he is close to us and then after that he called John. He was very kind and generous in his praise for us and he was very happy that we are doing it. Not just Ashu sir, Shoojit sir and Ritesh but we heard that other big studios were also making a film on that.”
Arjun says that they and KriArj’s creative team loved the story. “That’s why we went ahead with it. It’s something that we are very proud of, that the country did so we started developing the script. If we knew that our esteemed colleagues are looking at making films on the same subject, we probably would have thought twice about it. Eventually we started finding out about the other filmmakers. When we wanted the title Pokhran, we found out that it is with Ritesh Sidhwani and his production company Excel. That’s how we came to realize that they are looking at doing a film too around Pokhran. Prernaa and I have very good relations with and regard for Excel and John’s company was officially interacting with Ritesh for the title.
