The recent arrest of self-proclaimed godman Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Insaan was followed by an outrage especially in Punjab where the Dera Sacha Sauda Chief’s followers resorted to violence on the streets claiming the lives of some and leaving many injured. On the other hand, the team of the film Raazi is in the state, wrapping up a major shoot schedule in Patiala. Now, the shoot of the film has come to a halt owing to the massive uproar in the location.
According to recent reports, on Friday, when the film’s unit was shooting an important sequence with the film’s protagonist Alia Bhatt and her on screen husband Vicky Kaushal, the news of Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh’s arrest and the consequence that followed spread like wild fire across the state. While the director of the film Meghna Gulzar immediately announced the pack up to ensure her team’s safety, now we hear that the entire cast and crew are stranded in Patiala owing to the sensitive situation.
Furthermore, it has been learnt that the team is yet to complete the schedule which also requires the stars moving around the city. Now with the current situation turning volatile and after the high alert being declared in the state, the crew members’ safety is at stake, so the team is currently lying low at the hotel. The situation has worsened with the mobile and communication network being stopped.
The unit of the film Raazi have decided to halt the shoot of the film until August 28 when the hearing on the case has been scheduled. There are chances of the situation being worsened especially if Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh is sentenced in the case.
As for the schedule of the film, this major schedule in Punjab was said to be finished by September 10, after which the unit was said to shift to Chandigarh. As of now, there are no further details on the changes due to the delay.
Raazi, produced by Karan Johar, is based on the adaptation of Harinder Sikka’s novel ‘Calling Sehmat’ which talks about a Kashmiri spy married to a Pakistani soldier.

CID is up for a Grammy Award this year, which is the ultimate kind of recognition in the music industry. The work he did for LSD (Labrinth, Sia & Diplo) in the form of his “Audio” remix truly showcases dance music at its finest.
Speaking with CID about the remix project, he feels “fortunate” to have been able to rework “Audio.” It’s easy to hear — the track he prepared is dance floor ready and perfect for everyday listening, two huge factors he considers when remixing any track.
Here’s what he had to say about the Grammy nod and his work on the remix…
On first hearing “Audio” by LSD…
First of all the project I think is amazing. Sia is an incredible singer. Labrinth is — they’re both incredible songwriters. Labrinth is also a crazy producer. Then, you throw Diplo in there and it’s the ultimate artist project. Right away, even before I got the nomination I would have loved to do a remix.
On remixing LSD…
It was so easy to work with their vocals. You could put anything behind Sia’s vocal and it will sound amazing! [laughs] It wasn’t too difficult to get the idea. I love what they did on the original. For me, it was about taking the essence of what they had done and putting my spin on it.
On the most challenging part of the remix…
The tempo. For this one, I did something that I’ve never really done before. The original song is pretty slow. The first version I did — I did the whole thing at 124 bpm. I think Diplo heard the first demo I sent. He said, “Slow the whole thing down. The verse is too fast.” So, you can’t really notice it, but I’m changing the tempo. The verses are maybe 118 and when it gets to the pre-chorus then the chorus it starts speeding up really slowly, and the drop is around 124. That was challenging, trying to speed up without anyone noticing. It probably threw off a lot of DJs. If any DJ played it and mixed over — there’d be a lot of train wrecking going on.
On his previous Grammy win in 2014…
I won a Grammy for my work on Cedric Gervais’ Lana Del Rey remix. I’d been working with Cedric for a couple of years at the time. He’s an incredible producer and I was super grateful to be a part of that remix. I don’t think any of us realized what it would turn into. It was incredible to see how big that song was able to get. It was very smart putting it through the club system. He did the whole Beatport thing and it did really well there. I think Interscope took a shot on it and pushed to radio and it took off. The Grammys was one of the most crazy experiences to be a part of. It kind of gave me an inside look at how things develop along the way. For me, being at the Grammys was one of those mental images — like, this is what it takes.
It’s great to be coming back and doing it on my own. Obviously, my name is on this one. I’m just nominated now — that alone is just crazy to me, to think back at how far I’ve come. It’s just awesome to be going back there.
On making a good remix…
I’ve kind of been doing two different styles. The one, I’m making it strictly for the dance floor. But, I think the ones that make great remixes are the ones that you can go on Spotify in your house or in your car and just listen to. But, at the same time, you could play them in the club. That’s the sweet spot! If you can make it listenable and effective in your set, I think those are the best remixes.
CID’s ultimate goal with this remix and everything he creates — “I want people to be happy.”

Recently there was an article in the NY Times which challenged the use of lasers for treating vaginal atrophy and other vaginal changes associated with menopause. The Mona Lisa Touch is an FDA approved device, although the treatment of vaginal atrophy is an off-label use of the laser therapy. The article suggested that the laser was developed to treat ‘serious conditions’: cancer, genital warts, or surgery (including hysterectomies) and it was inappropriate to use it for vaginal atrophy.

On January 21, 2019, a woman named Jasmine Eiland live streamed her own apparent rape at Opera Nightclub in Atlanta. 34-year-old Dominique Williams turned himself in at the Fulton County Jail on Jan. 29, but a week ago, it was confirmed that Eiland had filed a lawsuit against her alleged attacker as well as the nightclub itself.
In the process of investigating Eiland’s claim, the local CBS affiliate news station discovered that three other sexual assaults had been reported at Opera over the last two years.
According to police reports, in March 2017, a woman was allegedly “fondled by several males at Club Opera while she was unconscious. In November of the same year, another incident report details at attempted PIV rape that was ultimately “unsuccessful” — that woman also alleges she was robbed. In December 2017, a third woman alleges that a man she knew forced her to “perform oral sex on him” before having vaginal intercourse with her in a bathroom stall, both of which were against her will. In that case, a man was arrested.
Atlanta PD stated that nightclubs are not an “area of concern” when it comes to sexual assault, but investigators and local news outlets are continuing to look into the situation.

Sunny Deol’s film on Vasectomy gets a ‘UA’ certificate with 1 cut
Sunny Deol has reason to rejoice. His new starrer Poster Boyz which is a remake of a super hit 2014 Marathi film has just been given an all-clear by the censor board with one single verbal cut.
The film addresses a sex-related issue but in a decent clean manner. Says a source close to the CBFC says, “It’s good to see intelligent directors taking on sexually related issues. Recently we viewed Shubh Mangal Saavdhan. In that also we found not a single shot or dialogue to be objectionable although it dealt with sex-related subject of erectile dysfunction. Now in Poster Boyz the theme is vasectomy. But the treatment is light and family-oriented. We’ve given the film a ‘UA’ with one verbal cut.”
Interestingly real-life brothers Sunny and Bobby Deol star in Poster Boyz. And actor Shreyas Talpade who plays a lead, also turns director with this film. Says Sunny Deol, “When Bobby and I came on board we were very clear that there will be no double-meaning, no vulgar dialogues. A film can make a socially relevant point on a taboo subject without losing the family audience.”
After Toilet – Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, Poster Boyz will bring out a subject that is never addressed in films, unless we go back to I.S Johar’s satire on vasectomy Nasbandi in the 1970s.

Silk City (Diplo & Mark Ronson) just shared a big Grammy win with Dua Lipa. Together, they made the magic that is “Electricity,” which scored them Best Dance Recording at this year’s ceremony.
Not only that — Dua Lipa took home the Grammy for Best New Artist.
Now, Diplo is opening up about how he and Dua Lipa got linked up in the first place. Their dialogue started years ago, before the pop star blew up. He was blown away by her talent and it was only a matter of time before they put out a collaboration.
We don’t always get to hear the sentimental side of Diplo, but here it is. He opens up in an Instagram post:

Across the Great Lakes, buoys are going overboard, taking their annual spring plunge back into the water. This week, Cleveland Water’s two buoys will join 14 others stationed in Lake Erie that keep tabs on water quality and meteorological conditions.
“We can’t be out on the lake collecting data 24-hours a day,” said Cleveland Water Quality Manager Scott Moegling. “That’s what the water quality buoys do. Each is a floating laboratory in the lake.”
Cleveland Water uses data collected from devices called sondes, which are mounted to the buoys, as part of the around-the-clock monitoring of lake conditions. Lake conditions fluctuate year-round, especially in spring and summer. The sonde on each buoy has numerous sensors that extend through the water column to the lake bottom tracking physical and chemical water parameters.
Each buoy sends data every few minutes to an online monitoring system. The data, which can be viewed by the public on the Great Lakes Observing System’s Great Lakes Buoy Portal, is used by staff at Cleveland Water to ensure proper water treatment.
“We look at the massive amount of near real-time data the buoys collect and can see trends. When we see something that is outside the norm, that signals us that we may need to adjust the water treatment process,” Scott said. “Events that are tracked include harmful algal blooms and hypoxic water which has low levels of oxygen and is often referred to as the ‘dead zone’.”
Staff monitor water temperature, pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen and other parameters to help anticipate and respond to changes in lake water quality before it is drawn into our four treatment plants. Because each of Cleveland Water’s four intake cribs is 3 to 5-miles offshore, we know four to five hours in advance if the process to treat water will need to be adjusted.
“During summer months, we can experience hypoxic water. This can show itself when buoys indicate that pockets of cold water with low pH and low dissolved oxygen levels are moving toward Cleveland Water intakes. By getting advanced warning, we can adjust our water treatment,” Scott said.
While a lack of oxygen in the water does not singularly impact water treatment, when water has little or no dissolved oxygen, other minerals that are naturally found in lakebed sediment, such as iron and manganese, can dissolve into the water. These elements, if not properly removed during the water treatment process, can cause discolored water or even unpleasant taste and odor issues.
Over the last decade, water treatment plants have made great progress when it comes to treating hypoxic raw water. Staff have learned that when wind speeds and currents move from the northeast to the southwest, hypoxic water that is 15+ miles offshore, can get pushed toward Ohio’s shore and Cleveland Water intakes.
Data and observations being collected by Cleveland Water is being used to develop a Hypoxia Early Warning System for the Great Lakes. This five-year project began in 2016 when the Great Lakes Environmental Research Lab (GLERL) and the Cooperative Institute for Great Lakes Research (CIGLR) received a five-year grant from NOAA’s Center for Sponsored Coastal Ocean Research to develop a model to predict the movement of hypoxic water in Lake Erie’s Central Basin. When finalized, the model will provide drinking water treatment plant managers an early warning system for hypoxic waters that functions in similar fashion to meteorological forecasts.

2018 was an interesting year for now 19 year-old Chandler Riggs. Most well known for his time on the AMC hit show The Walking Dead, Riggs has since departed from the show shocking many of the show’s most hardcore fans. However, it appears that Riggs is continuing to dabble with electronic music production with a little push from Steve Aoki.
Chandler Riggs is now signed with Steve Aoki’s music discovery label New Noise. Under the name Eclipse, Riggs’ new single titled “Endeavor” is a creep of future bass that flips into a slapping hybrid of house and trap. This description can sound a little confusing, but the song itself is a perfect fit with Aoki’s imprint and worth checking out.
But “Endeavor” is not Rigg’s first output of electronic music. Last year, Eclipse dropped four tracks under his Lunar – EP. He even had a set at EDC Las Vegas in 2018 that certainly competes with what the music industry pros are up to.
In an interview with KTLA, Riggs discussed the dual nature of his work in acting and in music saying,
“I’m actually producing music kind of on the side, and I’m starting to play some shows and things like that. I’m doing that and acting, it’s quite a lot to juggle but it’s a lot of fun. I produce electronic kind of music, like EDM kind of stuff. Acting is awesome, but I’m really, really able to express myself creatively in music.”
Although we won’t be seeing Rick Grimes calling out for “Caaaarl” anytime soon (since he’s also left The Walking Dead), we can now watch Chandler Riggs evolve as an artist in a genre he has always appreciated. And for fans of his acting, he’s currently appearing as a recurring character on ABC’s A Million Little Things and will be featured in two upcoming films that are currently in post-production.

In a 2014 discussion between feminist cultural critic bell hooks and trans activist and actress Laverne Cox, hooks argued that folks who are against reproductive health care can’t be considered feminists. In this era, when women’s right to self-determination is under siege on multiple levels, being for reproductive justice is nonnegotiable for a feminism based on economic justice.
The Trump administration’s potential restoration of the so-called domestic gag rule—on which the DHSS will only take public comments through July 31—is the latest act of state violence against women’s right to self-determination, which directly attacks poor women of color. Originally implemented by the Reagan administration in 1988 and rescinded by Clinton in 1993, it would not only prohibit health care providers who receive federal Title X funds from informing patients about abortion services, but it would also “require both physical and financial separation” of a clinic’s abortion-related services from its Title X services.
Instituted under the Nixon administration, Title X funds are specifically designated for family planning and preventive health care for low-income and uninsured patients. Title X provides funding for birth control, cancer and STD/STI screening, and pregnancy counseling services. As part of the Religious Right’s “death by a thousand cuts” strategy to overturn Roe v. Wade, the policy takes direct aim at Planned Parenthood, one of the biggest sources of health care for women in the United States. Planned Parenthood and other health care providers that receive Title X funding are frequently the only federally funded providers in rural and low-income communities. The gag rule is opposed by the American College of Physicians and the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists.
Restricting providers from giving women full and accurate information about their options for abortion subverts the very foundation of trust between patient and practitioner. Like the totalitarian prohibitions on speech and information in George Orwell’s 1984, the gag order would effectively condemn working-class women to incomplete and/or inaccurate information while middle-class women with private health coverage would continue to be empowered with the resources and information to control their bodies.
Women of color overwhelmingly rely on Title X-funded clinics for comprehensive care and counseling on family planning. According to California Latinas for Reproductive Justice, Latinas comprise 53 percent of the nearly one-million women who receive services at Title X clinics in California alone.
Nearly a million African-American women rely on Title X-funded health care. According to the Black Women’s Health Imperative, 21 percent of patients who rely on Title X for birth control and reproductive health care are Black. The gag rule—coupled with the wave of reproductive health care clinic closures that have devastated poor communities of color in the South and Midwest—are clear examples of how abortion is an economic justice issue, a vital pathway that affords women access to jobs, housing, education, and wealth equity when they’re in control of their bodies and destinies. Any entity that would aid and abet Trump’s criminal gag rule is not “pro-life” but an accessory to state violence.

Although the list of artists that have had an exceptional 2018 is quite extensive, up and coming bass music prodigy Benda has parachuted into 2019 with a monumental collaboration with the legendary Borgore. After being taken under the head honcho of Buygore’s wing last year, the young producer by the age 19 of has culminated one of the heaviest collaborations of the year with the groundbreaking “Camo Diamond Rollie” on Bassrush Records.
We at Your EDM had a chat with him to pick his brain new and old, and all things Benda.
This collaboration is an absolute head splitter. Tell us a bit about how this tune came to fruition. Was it a long process to create or was it one of those “magic in the room” quick turnaround tunes?
Before we started the BGU Tour, Borgore and I had talked about doing another song together. With this tune we really wanted to make something super aggressive and mean. We ended just hanging out and pretty much made the whole idea in a session and then came back like two weeks later and finished the record.
You’ve been on a steady rise to fame recently and have showed absolutely no signs of stagnation. What are some of your goals for 2019?
My main goal for 2019 is just to release a bunch of music. Ive been really happy with all the new tunes I’ve been making and I’m excited for everyone to hear them! Another goal is to make actual songs not just dubstepy bangers so keep an eye out for those.

With the massive success of this release- do you have plans for a follow up collaboration with the man himself(If you don’t have one in the works already?)
We haven’t talked about doing another tune together yet, but we hang out almost everyday so i don’t doubt that we’ll make another one together in the near future.
What were some of your favorite highlights/memories of 2018, and why?
The BGU Tour has to be my favorite memory of 2018. Theres just something about touring the country with your best friends thats kind of hard to explain. Imagine your parents going out of town for the weekend and all your friends come over to your place and you get to do whatever you want; but for two months.
Who are your main influences in the music world? Any standout producers to you that inspire you?
As cliche as it sounds, my biggest inspirations are all my friends. They’re all super hungry and making insane tunes. s/o Borgore, Half Empty, Tisoki, Minesweepa, Sneek and all da boys.
What would you tell new producers/musicians that are now entering the realm of music production, any insider tips/ words of advice?
Just have fun with it! The best part of producing is figuring out a cool trick that you didn’t know about. Also don’t compare yourself to other producers, everyones journey is different.

October is Domestic Violence Month, but in our current socio-political climate, most of us don’t need a calendar announcement to be reminded of this insidious abuse.
The #metoo movement, the recent Supreme Court Justice hearings, the fall from grace of several prominent business, entertainment and political leaders – all of these events mark a critical time in our history. They have brought sexual assault out of the shadows and into the mainstream.
Domestic violence – otherwise known as Intimate Partner Violence (or IPV) – does not discriminate. It affects women, men and children of all ages, cultures, socio-economic backgrounds and racial groups. Victims of IPV deserve our primary focus, of course. But researchers are also concerned with understanding the motivation of abusers.
We’ve known for many years that domestic violence is often an intergenerational issue. And we also know that most victims are women, and most abusers are men. Since boys and girls tend to mirror the gender roles that parents exhibit, it’s critical to examine what fathers are teaching their sons about how they move about in the world, and how they relate to others. Some of these lessons may reflect what has been labeled “toxic masculinity”, a phrase coined by the Mythopoetic men’s movement of the 1980s and 1990s. It was initially considered a male response to the teachings of feminism, but more currently we use the phrase to refer to behavior that is sometimes aggressive, hurtful or abusive. It’s helping us as a society kick off discussion around what it means to be a man.
Actor, filmmaker and entrepreneur Justin Baldoni (yes, “Jane the Virgin” fans – that Justin Baldoni!) presented a TED talk last year entitled “Why I’m Done Trying to Be Man Enough”. He talks about the kinds of things he learned from his father, and why some of them created conflict for him socially. It raises issues around societal expectations and the evolution of his behavior and attitudes toward women.
These kinds of conversations aim to promote awareness of domestic abuse. If we can gain more knowledge about where violence begins, we can provide better support to survivors and ultimately work toward an overall reduction of intimate partner violence.

After Shraddha Kapoor, Jackie Shroff roped in for a pivotal role in Prabhas’ starrer Saaho!
Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff has joined forces with Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor in the upcoming Tamil-Telugu-Hindi trilingual, Saaho.
According to the reports, Jackie Shroff has been roped in for a pivotal role in Saaho and will reportedly be seen as the main villain. Recently, the actor confirmed being a part of the film and said that he was happpy to star opposite one of the biggest actors like Prabhas. He was glad to know that they trust with him for a role like this.
Besides Jackie Shroff, Shraddha Kapoor was recently finalized as the leading lady. She had confirmed by saying, “So so excited to be a part of the ‘Saaho’ team & to be working with Prabhas!!! Woohoo.”
Neil Nitin Mukesh and Chunky Pandey will also be joining the forces. Directed by Sujeeth, Saaho will be a hi-tech action drama which will be shot in three languages – Hindi, Tamil and Telugu – simultaneously.

Martin Garrix has historically always, when he’s been booked for Tomorrowland, played the main stage. It’s where he belongs, after all, being such a huge artist. But, not this year. This year, it seems Garrix will only be playing one set across both weekends, on his own STMPD RCRDS stage weekend one.

While this is definitely a disappointment for his hardcore fans, it has also started a rumor of who could be taking his place. The most popular rumor so far? Swedish House Mafia.
In August last year, Steve Angello spoke to De Telegraff and essentially said Swedish House Mafia would do everything they could to play Tomorrowland in 2019. So far, the festival has been revealing names one day at a time and Swedish House Mafia hasn’t been named — yet. There’s still time, though.
As of right now, Angello’s interview and the fact that Garrix isn’t playing the main stage are the only pieces of evidence, however circumstantial, that fans have regarding SHM’s possible appearance. We won’t know for sure until the full lineup is released.

Tomorrowland appears to be expanding its Main Stage area!
Newly surfaced photos reveal what seems to be an expansion of the grassy section in the back (see below). Added space over the hill and up to the woods looks like a real possibility. In years past, these areas have gone untouched.
With approximately 400,000 attendees over two weekends, it’s definitely a good idea to squeeze in a little more elbow room wherever possible. If the Main Stage is more spacious, that only means more room for visitors from all over the world to see the headliners live in action.
This news comes from reports out of De Schorre, exactly where Tomorrowland takes place in Boom, Belgium. The photos below of the grounds give a good idea of what to expect.
Tomorrowland is set to take place over July 19-21 and July 26-28. Learn more about the stage hosts here.

শারীরিক উচ্চতার ক্ষেত্রে বংশীয় / জীনগত দৈহিক বৈশিষ্ট্য অনেকটা মুখ্য ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে, যে কারণে বাবা-মা এর উচ্চতার উপর সন্তানের উচ্চতা অনেকাংশে নির্ভরশীল বলা যায় – তাই দেখা যায়, বাবা-মা এর উচ্চতা ভাল হলে সন্তানের উচ্চতা ভাল হয় এবং বাবা-মা এর উচ্চতা কম হলে সন্তানের উচ্চতা কম হয় । আবার অনেক সময় বাবা-মা এর উচ্চতা ভাল হলেও সন্তানের উচ্চতার ঘাটতি দেখা দিতে পারে, এই ক্ষেত্রে মূলত সন্তান মাতৃগর্ভে থাকা অবস্থায় মা এর পুষ্টিহীনতা / মানুষিক দুশ্চিন্তা / প্রয়োজনীয় যত্নাদির অভাব অনেকাংশে দায়ী থাকে । এছাড়া একটি মানবদেহের শারীরিক উচ্চতার ক্ষেত্রে গ্রোথ হরমোন এবং কোষের স্থিতিস্থাপকতার হার গুরুত্বপুর্ন ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে, যা সক্রিয় কম হওয়ার কারণেও মানুষ খাটো / বেটে হতে পারে । পাশাপাশি শিশুকালে চাহিদামাফিক ভিটামিন, ক্যালসিয়াম, আয়রন, লৌহ, জিংক ইত্যাদি উপাদানের ঘাটতির অভাবে হাঁড়ের বৃদ্ধি গঠনে ব্যাহত ঘটতে পারে, যার ফলশ্রুতিতে শারীরিক উচ্চতা কম হতে পারে । আর আজকাল আমাদের সমাজের তরুণ-তরুণীদের উচ্চতা বৃদ্ধিতে যে ব্যাপারটি মুলত ব্যাঘাত ঘটিয়ে থাকে, তা হল – বয়োসন্ধিকালে নিজেদের কতৃক কিছু ভুল-ত্রুটি সহ অনিয়ম মাফিক জীবনযাপন করা, যা শারীরিক বিকাশের ক্ষেত্রগুলোকে বাধাগ্রস্ত করে তোলার প্রধান অন্তরায় । পাশাপাশি ছেলেদের ক্ষেত্রে অতিরিক্ত হস্তমৈথুন এবং মেয়েদের ক্ষেত্রে অতিরিক্ত সাদাস্রাবও বাঁধা হয়ে দাঁড়ায় শারীরিক উচ্চতার ক্ষেত্রে । এছাড়াও অল্প বয়সে মাত্রাতিরিক্ত পরিশ্রম, মানুসিক চাপ, ঘুম কম ইত্যাদি ব্যাপারগুলোও উচ্চতা বৃদ্ধি কম হওয়ার কারণগুলোর মধ্যে অন্যতম হিসাবে বিবেচিত । যদিও এই কারণগুলোই শেষ নয়, মানুষ খাটো / বেটে হওয়ার পিছনে আরো অনেক কিছু কারণের ভূমিকা রয়েছে, তবে উপরে উল্লেক্ষিত কারণগুলোই মূল কারণ হিসেবে অনেক সমীক্ষায় দেখা গেছে ।
