Your garden is your prized possession and you want it to outshine any other in the neighborhood. Hence, your landscaper needs to get all the essentials right. One important aspect to consider in this context is planting rightly in your garden. There is much more to planting than just digging a sapling into the soil. Planting a tree is a process which once begun from a small plant continues onward till it reaches taller heights and still goes on. Following are some basic planting tips for your garden:
Preparing the Soil
It all starts from digging a hole into the soil to hold the roots of the tree. The hole should be broad enough to allow the roots to spread in the future times to come. The soil should be cleared of grass in three feet area of diameter.
Test the soil to decide whether it is compacted or clay type and choose plants best suited to that type. Hardy plants grow well in soils with poor drainage or those having clay content. You can add gypsum to your dug hole for tackling poor drainage issue.
Your gardener can otherwise change the clay soil into an almost workable soil by composting it. The other option is to get better soil from elsewhere and make a wide mound of earth to plant your tree into. Clayed soil should be reworked a little earlier to your planting date. The surface of your hole should then be roughly evened around the sides.
Basic Steps to Planting
Remove the tree from its container: Remove the tree from its wrapping carefully without causing harm to the root ball.
Confirm the hole’s depth requirements: The tree should be set into the hole in such a way that root flare lies at the soil level. Avoid planting the tree deep down into the hole as that will shorten its life.
Put the tree into the hole: The roots of the tree should be easily spread out within the hole. Any damaged, encircled roots need to be cut off.
Place dirt around: Cover the hole with dirt and stomp it to make a firm surface. Compost the surface soil in and around the young tree and avoid adding fertilizer or peat moss to it immediately.
Watering requirements: Water the tree immediately after planting in case the soil is dry and also for ensuring its final settling. This is essential for the tree to survive.
Add mulch: Mulch the soil surface around the young tree for about four inches deep. This allows the nutrients to be released gradually and thus thwart competition. But, ensure that the mulch does not touch the tree trunk.
Staking only if necessary: The normal circumstances for the roots and trunk to grow strong is through natural flexing. Staking can be done for the first year when the roots are on their way to getting strong and firm. However, ensure that the ties are not tight so as to prevent movement and damage to the trunk.
Build dirt dam: Form a round shaped dam of dirt around the external edge of the planting area so that water gets retained in the basin formation. It is essential to water your trees in the first couple of years and in the course of a drought.
Post Planting Care
Your garden care does not get over just by planting trees and watering them in the initial years. You need to look after their health just like humans; pamper them with mulch, manure and fertilizer when the need arises and you will see them grow tall and beautiful.

Opera Nightclub in Atlanta is under scrutiny after a woman allegedly live streamed herself being raped on the dance floor of the club and no one came to her aid. The incident happened Saturday, January 19, as New Orleans rapper August Alsina was performing.
The woman, who has made the videos public, has been identified as Jasmine Eiland. She was live streaming on her Facebook throughout the night, according to public posts, during which time she was approached by a stranger. The man asked if she was alone, to which she replied that she was. The man walked off screen and later returned with a drink for Eiland — judging by her behavior on stream the rest of the night, it’s believed the drink had been drugged. No toxicology report has been issued to confirm this suspicion.
Multiple separate live streams were posted throughout the night, including one of the alleged rape, which has since been deleted and handed over to police as evidence.
According to Ravers Choice, which viewed the video before it was removed, “She can be seen on the dance floor, with her breasts out, and the same man that had retrieved a drink for her is penetrating her from behind while she is screaming out ‘Help me, please god, someone do something’ with tears streaming down her face.”
Opera Nightclub posted the following statement earlier today.
This is not the first time that Opera has been in the news in recent months. Late last year, Opera staff was accused of extorting patrons who’d already paid for tickets to a show, demanding upwards of $100 on top of what they’d already paid for a ticket to get in. Opera Atlanta Director of Marketing Alexandra Trawick reached out to EDM.com to explain that the offending staff had been dealt with, and that the behavior did not “reflect their principles.”
The fact that no security or staff was able to view an alleged rape in progress, or were otherwise pre-occupied or unable to help, is no good, either.
We’ll be keeping a close eye on this situation as more information becomes available.

According to the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, a car infotainment system will demand the attention of a driver as much as trying to balance a checkbook while driving.
AAA researchers worked with well-known safety researchers at the University of Utah, a leader in distracted driving studies.
Ratings were determined by measuring demands that took eyes off the roads, the mental demand of using the infotainment systems and how long it took drivers to complete their tasks.
Researchers classify the infotainment systems as causing low, moderate, high and very high demands on drivers.
Out of the latest 10 vehicles tested, none of the infotainment systems cause "low" demands on drivers, equated with listening to the radio or an audiobook. But six systems create "very high" demands on drivers equal to trying to balance their checkbooks while driving.
Considering you double your risk of crashing if you take your eyes off the road for just two seconds, the infotainment results are depressing for highway safety.
Researchers learned that performing navigation tasks can take your attention away for 48 seconds. But at just 25 mph, a vehicle could travel the length of three football fields before a driver would bring their attention back to the road.

WOW! Salman Khan joins hands with Ashwin Varde, Murad Khetani; to launch newcomers in their film
Salman Khan Films is on a roll. Despite the debacle of Tubelight, Salman Khan is gearing up to launch multiple films under his home production. One film will launch Aayush Sharma, his brother-in-law, who married his sister Arpita in November 2015. An official announcement for this film will be done soon.
However, what many are not aware is that Salman Khan is also producing one more film, which is also reported to launch new faces. This film will be a co-production between Murad Khetani and Ashwin Varde. Both the actor and the actress will be newcomers and the trio is in the process of finalizing the script and director.
This is not the first time that Salman Khan Films is launching debutants. Right after their first film Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015, the production house unveiled Hero in the same year, and it starred newbies Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty. The film however underperformed at the box office. Murad Khetani meanwhile has produced the recently released Mubarakan, Manish Paul’s debut film Mickey Virus and Akshay Kumar-Lisa Haydon starrer The Shaukeens. Ashwin Varde was also one of the producers on Mubarakan and The Shaukeens and in addition to that, he had also co-produced Akshay Kumar’s comedy action film Boss in 2013.

It definitely came as a surprise when Tigmanshu Dhulia announced his association with Sanjay Dutt for the romantic thriller franchise Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster with the filmmaker taking it forward with its third instalment. After Randeep Hooda and Irrfan Khan, now Sanjay Dutt will essay the role of the third wheel in this Saheb – Biwi story. We hear that the makers have already started the preps and will kick start the film this month itself.
Reports have it that the Sanjay Dutt film, which also features Chitrangda Singh, will go on floor on September 21. The actress will play the role of a singer-dancer and Sanjay will apparently be infatuated with her. Furthermore, some more additions have been made to the star cast which includes Kabir Bedi and Nafisa Ali. The two veteran stars will play the role of Sanjay Dutt’s parents in the film.
Excited about playing Sanjay Dutt’s mother, Nafisa Ali expressed her happiness since she has been associated with the Dutts since the past few years. She is also nervous about facing the camera after many years but at the same time appreciated Tigmanshu Dhulia’s [director of the film] talents and is looking forward to work with him. The two of them will play royals in the film.
On the other hand, let us remind you that Kabir Bedi has previously played the role of Sanjay Dutt’s father in the Feroz Khan film Yalgaar way back in 1992.

Hi everyone, today I will share with you my experience of trying Indian food in Jakarta. The Royal Kitchen located in busy business district in Kuningan Jakarta. Before I went to this restaurant I wondered if the name would live up-to its expectation. Preparing perfect Indian cuisine requires a lot of detail balancing the mix of spices and hell lot of patience surely. Here is how I review my experience at The Royal Kitchen.
The Royal Kitchen is a wonderful restaurant with awesome service standards. It is true to say that out of the many Indian restaurants in Jakarta its one of the best. The quality of food is great, the portions are generous and gives a great value for money. One area where The Royal Kitchen should definitely work on is the ambience. The ambience is tad bit boring but having said that the tasty food preparations covers it up. Since Royal Kitchen is a specialty Indian restaurant the variety offered is satisfactory but they may get rid of the few items under there Chinese section. Its not their specialty and the taste/quality does not reflect the standard which Royal Kitchen holds for Indian dishes.
Lachha Paratha : Indian bread prepared in mud-clay oven. The Royal Kitchen nailed this one. Highly recommended.
Its time Mr. Gastronaut reviews Social House on various parameters of evaluation to check if Social House really has something OUT OF THE WORLD to offer or not.

About three years ago, Raj Nidimoru and Krishna DK were keen on making a stylish film titled Farzi and many names for the cast of the film were being tossed around. Soon after that, there were reports of Shahid Kapoor playing the lead but the film never went beyond scripting stage. After that, the director duo got busy with other projects and is currently busy with the promotions of A Gentleman.
But now yet again reports of Farzi being back on track have started doing the rounds and it is being said that Kriti Sanon has been approached for the role of the leading lady. Followed by that, there is also buzz about Arjun Kapoor being a part of the film as the leading man and apparently, the talks with the actor are in the final stages.

Toyota has lost a $12 million wrongful death lawsuit that alleges a defective rear axle caused the crash of a 4Runner and the death of a 17-year-old South Carolina girl.
Killed in the 2012 crash was high school senior Lacee Dial after her 1999 Toyota 4Runner rolled over and struck a utility pole. Police reports say Lacee was trapped in the SUV for about two hours before she died.
Her family filed the lawsuit alleging a defective rear axle broke on the 4Runner and caused the SUV to roll. According to the plaintiffs, Toyota manufactured the axle too weak to handle routine driving because the metal was overheated.
Lacee was driving the SUV on September 15, 2015, when the rear axle allegedly fractured and caused the left rear wheel to detach.
The plaintiffs claim Toyota should have known about weak rear axles because of complaints filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to attorneys for the plaintiffs, records show that 60 incidents occurred between 1987 and 2011, including 16 crashes and 19 injuries.

In addition, the lawsuit claims seven rollover crashes were reported, similar to the rollover Lacee's 4Runner experienced.
The lawsuit further alleges 31 rear axle fractures were reported prior to the manufacture of Lacee’s Toyota 4Runner.
Included in the lawsuit was testimony of an eyewitness who claims they saw the axle break while the SUV was traveling on a straight road during clear weather.
Toyota denied the axle was defective, but the jury awarded $6 million for Lacee’s pain and suffering and $6 million in damages for her parents.
The Toyota 4Runner axle lawsuit was filed in the Court of Common Pleas of Anderson County, South Carolina – Donald L. Dial, Personal Representative of Lacee Michaela Dial vs. Toyota Motor Corporation, et al.

The first Devel Sixteen, serial #001, has landed in Canada. More specifically, it’s landed in the hands of Drake in Toronto.
Tony Bet of Driving Emotions Toronto posted up pictures of the hypercar on his Instagram account, saying, “Over!! Devel 16 serial #001 has landed in the 6 ” and then threw in a hashtag for Champagne Papi. If you’ve seen Drake’s new music video for “I’m Upset,” you probably noticed the Devel Sixteen making an appearance alongside his LaFerrari.
As for the car itself, it’s said to be one of the most powerful hypercars, ever. It comes powered by a quad-turbocharged 12.3-liter V16 engine. With such a high displacement and so many turbochargers, the Sixteen’s engine can put out a claimed 5,007 horsepower and 3,757 lb-ft of torque. That’s way more power than any other hypercar produced as of today.

One of the greatest challenges facing school districts is employee retention. All one has to do is look at current teacher shortages in places like Arizona, North Carolina, and Hawaii and the problem is obvious.
A recent report from the U.S. Department of Education identifies teacher shortage areas in all 50 states.
This constant struggle to stem teacher attrition and boost retention is extremely expensive. Districts lose more than $2 billion to teacher attrition every year, according to some estimates.
With teacher attrition on the rise, it’s increasingly critical for school leaders to clearly understand how engaged employees, including teachers and staff, are in their work. Evidence tells us that highly engaged employees contribute more than is expected of them and are champions of their work, their profession, and the success of their schools.
Strong employee engagement can have a direct impact on student success, according to recent research from Gallup. “Gallup research suggests that engaged teachers inspire engagement in their students,” write researchers Valerie J. Calderon and Nate Dvorak.

So, what steps can your school or district take to ensure more engaged faculty and staff? Giving employees a strong voice is critical.
Richard Ingersoll is a University of Pennsylvania professor who has been working for years to solve the puzzle of teacher attrition. According to Ingersoll, teachers often leave their schools—or the teaching profession altogether—because they feel they have no voice in the decisions made by school leadership.
As Ingersoll told NPR in an interview, “One of the main factors is the issue of voice, and having say, and being able to have input into the key decisions in the building that affect a teacher’s job.”
Ensuring that teachers and staff have an authentic way to provide feedback is vital to their feeling of autonomy and investment in your school’s success. Feedback, Gallup’s Calderon and Dvorak write, is a “compass” school leaders can use to ensure a positive school climate for teachers and students.
Our own research also shows a need for stronger employee voice in schools.
During the 2015-2016 school year, the K12 Insight research team (K12 Insight produces TrustED) conducted our first Employee Engagement Benchmarking study.
By listening to teachers, bus drivers, cafeteria staff, principals, and administrators in districts, both large and small, throughout the United states, we aimed to help school and district leaders discover new ways to support and retain their most valued resource—their staff.
Among our findings, we found that smaller school districts had higher percentages of engaged and highly engaged staff than larger districts.
Our research also found that questions about how districts conducted feedback and recognition received the lowest percentage of favorable responses among participating school employees, showing that districts still have a lot of work to do to not only invite staff feedback, but also to provide feedback and acknowledgement to their employees.

It is critical that our schools continue to invest in staff, cultivate highly engaged employees, and offer healthy work environments. Shilpa Shetty Kundra condemns attack on media photographers by restaurant bouncers last night
An ugly incident unfolded yesterday outside Bastian restaurant in Bandra, Mumbai. Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra were having a dinner date at this place at night and the photographers reached there in hordes, as it happens usually, to click their pictures. As soon as the couple walked out, they were requested for pictures and they promptly agreed to pose for them. They then left and immediately, the bouncers hired by Bastion’s management got angry with the photographers. Suddenly the bouncers were involved in fist fight with the paparazzi and the situation went out of hand. The event was also captured on camera by a few.
Both the photographers and the bouncers were later taken the police station. Bastion management condemned the incident. They released the following statement, “We’re saddened and shocked by the incident that took place outside Bastian last night. We have celebrities and well known guests visiting us frequently, and every experience has so far been smooth. During last night’s incident, the people involved were personnel of Tough Security who are hired for Bastian via external vendors – as is the practice, the security agency assigns their personnel to us and other establishments based on who is available that day. All the Bastian staff, as well as the management, was inside in the restaurant on the second floor at the time of the incident – we were made aware of the same a while after it began. This was a highly unfortunate situation that escalated beyond anything we could have imagined. As soon as the Bastian team found out, we took remedial measures to get things under control. We are changing security agencies today as we do not want to take the risk of this happening again, as well as personally apologising to the media involved. We are also collecting all information so that we are able to offer to take care of any and all medical bills that may have resulted due to this incident.”
Shilpa Shetty Kundra meanwhile had no idea about this fight as she had left the venue by then. She flew down to the holy city of Amritsar today and it seems that’s where she found out. She immediately put up a picture on her Instagram handle where she too reacted sharply at the behaviour of the bouncers. Her statement is as follows, “Omg, appalled and disappointed at the way these photographers were bashed up…really unnecessary. Feel bad for the paps; they stand for hours sometimes for a shot. They are a part of my fraternity and no needs to be beaten for doing his job. Absolutely condemn what happened.”
Some reports also suggest that Shilpa Shetty and also Raj Kundra have offered help to the injured photographer.

Once we reached home, it was time to proudly display them on the shelf if they were big, or in a jar if they were small.

A Chrysler Pacifica engine stall lawsuit won't be dismissed after a federal judge ruled minivan owners have provided enough evidence for the proposed class-action lawsuit to proceed.
Plaintiffs Ryan and Sarah Wildin filed the Pacifica class-action lawsuit based on alleged defects in 2017-2018 Pacificas that cause the Fiat Chrysler (FCA US) minivans to stall.
An alleged error in the powertrain control module (PCM) software causes a loss of engine timing and leads to stalling without warning. In addition, Chrysler allegedly has concealed knowledge of the stalling problems and has been unjustly enriched by keeping customers in the dark.
According to the plaintiffs, FCA must have known about the stalling engines because in 2016 and 2017, the automaker issued several software updates for the engine and powertrain control module software.
On April 22, 2016, FCA issued a technical service bulletin (TSB) altering the PCM software in the 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango, both of which contain the same engine and PCM software as the Pacifica.
The plaintiffs claim the TSB was sent to dealerships after customers complained about illuminated engine malfunction indicator lights in the SUVs.
Chrysler then superseded the TSB on August 5, 2016, again on November 22, 2016, and again on March 2, 2017. However, none of these TSBs mentioned the alleged stalling defect.
In August 2017, Chrysler released a T23 software update for the Pacifica, the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Dodge Durango which again updated the powertrain control module software due to engine malfunction lights.
The T23 update identified the old software was “operating the Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve (“EGR”) with an aggressive seating velocity which resulted in damage to the EGR.”
Chrysler also issued a recall in January 2018 to fix stalling problems, but the plaintiffs claim FCA informed customers that those who had already received the T23 software update need not receive the newest update.
This is allegedly because the recall is the same as the T23 update, but none of the attempts to fix the stalling problems have been effective. The lawsuit further alleges Pacifica customers continue to suffer from stalled minivans even after repairs have been performed.
The plaintiffs also claim the automaker knew about stalling problems because customers were complaining about stalled engines. However, although Judge Gonzalo P. Curiel ruled there is enough in the claims to show Chrysler may have known about possible stalling problems, it's not because of customer complaints.
According to the judge, the plaintiffs can't use customer complaints to show FCA knew about stalling problems because courts have said complaints by themselves don't adequately show an automaker knows about problems.
In addition, only one Pacifica minivan complaint made to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration or other websites referenced in the lawsuit predates the purchase of the Pacifica.
But according to the judge, technical service bulletins and official recalls can be another story because courts have found those things suffice to at least allege an automaker may have known of problems before the vehicles were sold.
In its motion to dismiss, FCA told the judge the plaintiffs fail to allege fraud because the lawsuit doesn't allege where or how information about stalling problems should have been revealed to the public. However, the judge disagrees and says the plaintiffs claim Chrysler could have used its website to warn potential customers about possible problems.
Chrysler says it “would defy common sense and real-world business practice” to disclose defects about stalling on its website, but the judge ruled that fact is currently irrelevant.
According to the judge, the question that must be addressed right now is whether the automaker "could have" revealed information about possible stalling problems, and the answer to that question is, yes.
The judge also ruled against dismissing a claim of unjust enrichment. FCA argues the claim should be dismissed because both affected parties have a warranty contract that precludes the claim, but the judge did not agree at this stage in the proceedings.
The Chrysler Pacifica engine stall class-action lawsuit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California – Ryan and Sarah Wildin, et al., v. FCA US, LLC.
