Celebrating Happiness by Little Happy Feet - Annual Day Function of Class 2 and 4
The annual day function of primary classes - 2&4 infused this morning with so much joy and enthusiasm as the little Udgamites celebrated happiness. India’s rich cultural heritage and diversity were displayed through various dance forms that included regional folk dances as well as western and fusion dance . Grade 4 Students performed Ashta Lakshmi Devistuti, Bhoomi Managlam, Garba, Kolattam etc that earned huge round of applause from the audience. Students of grade 2 filled our hearts with immense joy through the traditional dance performances such as Punjabi, Bengali, Goan, Malhar,Kavadiattam and more. The event commenced with the customary lighting of the lamp by our respected directors, followed by a welcome speech by our Principal, Ms. Tandon. Today’s little happy feet successfully spread the cheer and highlighted the happiness that prevails within our country.

Mother, the orchestrator of our fairytale childhood which extends itself into our adulthood so long as we are alive. From waking us up with dollops of love, to putting us back to sleep with lullabies, a mother and child indulge in a wide range of activities that makes a child's life enriching. The children of 2nd grade performed an activity where they participated in their favourite activities featuring their moms as well. Some of the mom kid duos grooved to peppy music, while others turned MasterChef with moms in tow. They also featured in their most loved skills, knowledge and learning enhancing activities alongside also helping their moms in daily chores. The purpose of the activity was to focus on how from mere fun-filled dances to giving a helping hand, a strong bond is established between mother and child. A lot of times we discount such things, but it's an intrinsic part of every child's life and this is what the activity highlighted.

To raise our global citizens with enriching experiences, students of Class IX joined the session on 'Explore Russian Culture with MIEE Global Mentor Ms.Anna Zubkovskaya' on 5th October 2020. Our students shared rich and varied Indian culture with Russian translated text, which was highly appreciated by the Russian students. The students of Yaroslavl Town Planning College too presented their culture with a Virtual Trip to their monuments and landforms with a beautiful video presentation. The curious minds prompted questions to know more about each other's culture, and mutual learning took place in the session with a farewell and thanksgiving note.

Our Primary Section students were given different projects to celebrate World Environment Day in a unique manner. To create awareness and to sensitize our little tots of Grade I, the project 'Gorgeous Environmental Crowns' was introduced. The students were asked to inscribe thoughtful messages about the Mother Earth on the crowns. They were also asked to click the pic wearing 'Gorgeous Environmental Crowns.' Creativity was at its peak as our kids came up with wonderful ideas and rose to the occasion of making 'Gorgeous Environmental Crown'.
The students performed this activity with full vigour and learnt to respect and conserve our environment.

The ongoing pandemic COVID-19 and resultant the series of lockdowns have enabled us, also our environment to revive from the detrimental condition. Our Mother Earth is now healing each day. We need to understand our Duties and Responsibilities and take a Pledge unanimously. The food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we drink and the climate that makes our planet habitable all come from Nature. Yet these are exceptional times in which Nature is sending us a message: "To care for ourselves, we must care for nature". It’s Time to Wake up. To take Notice. To Raise our Voices. It’s time to build back better for People and Planet. This World Environment Day, it’s Time for Nature. The students of Grade II, understanding their duties, have done a very innovative activity of making "Environmental Placards." They made a replica of our earth (placard) and wrote pledges on colourful chart papers and decorated it with brilliant ideas. Most of the students performed this activity and came up with innovative concepts.
It was a fun activity for students, and they learnt their responsibility towards Mother Nature.

Udgam School for Children conducted a virtual tour at Roundhouse Aquarium, USA, for Class V on Saturday, October 10. Roundhouse Instructors, Mr.Juan Lopez & Ms. Brittney Olaes, gave a brief overview of the importance of aquatic plants and marine mammals in our life, also shared some interesting facts about octopus, sea horses & sea jellies. They further explained the ocean ecosystem and animal habitats. The Executive Director of Roundhouse, Ms. Grace Adams, was also present during the live trip. More than 300 attended students attended the virtual event. They were thrilled to see Leopard Shark, Wolf Eel, Octopus, Sea Horses, Sea Jellies, Sheephead Fish, Star Fish, Moral Eels, and many more creatures of the sea. All the students enthusiastically attended the virtual trip and curiously asked many questions to the instructors yet gaining a lot of knowledge about aquatic life.

Redefining Beauty
Students of class 6 and 8 celebrated their annual day with so much vibrancy that enthralled every spectator present. After lighting of the lamp by our trustee, Shri Gautam Choksi and directors, Ms. Radhika Iyer and Mr. Manan Choksi, our principal extended a formal welcome to all the parents and guests . Mr. Choksi also addressed the audience, urging everyone to encourage and motivate the students throughout their performances. The young students of middle section ‘redefined beauty’ through music , dance and drama. The areas explored were relationship with parents, friends, teachers, maintaining a green environment, standing up for right, India’s rich cultural heritage and patriotism.The programme was a synthesis of eternal values, woven into an enchanting pattern of dances and skits. The entire medley was directed by Shri Hardik Pandya, his team and a select talented team of our teachers. A special mention goes to the young anchors and orators who flawlessly conducted the entire show and added that 'x’ factor to the function.

It feels immense pride to bring to your notice, our student Vihaan Joshi, Grade I-B, who has won the Lego Making Contest at national level held by Makers Loft, Kolkata in the Lego Ninja category. Given the theme 'Planet/Asteroid', Vihaan designed a 'Green Planet' based on the sustainable concept of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. It had tall buildings to save space on the ground for gardens and lakes. The building possessed windmills and solar panels on the top to utilise natural energy. Hard work paid well for our young Udgamites. We are glad to state that two of our students, Tathya Bhadresh Prajapati from VI-H and Palash Axay Shah from VI-A, have achieved honors in different arenas. Tathya wrote a poem for her little sister, which got selected and published in the book. Also, she received a Consolation Prize in ‘Indian Classical Dance and Music Online Contest 2020’, for Bharatanatyam. Palash became Second Runner-up in Drawing online competition. It was organized by All India Online Talent Expo 2020, for which he received a trophy and certificate. Congratulations Champs!

The students of Grade IV performed activity on 'Community Heroes and Our Environment' to celebrate 'World Environment Day'. Exam Orientation Assembly - Class XII.
Our students of class XII were called for a special valedictory assembly in which the teachers shared important guidelines about their upcoming board exams, such as following the exam timings, the dress code, writing the paper and other code of conduct to remember. Our Director, Ms. Radhika Iyer and Principal , Ms. Sujata Tandon motivated the class XII Board aspirants through their speeches and showered them with blessings . Our Executive Director, Mr. Manan Choksi who himself is an alumnus of Udgam School, spoke to the students about Udgam’s upgraded Alumni network , discussed the several benefits of being a part of the network and urged the students to register themselves on the alumni network from the school website. 39 students who spent more than a decade in Udgam School were received a special certificate. Honey Manik of 12 B was acknowledged and awarded a certificate for his 100% attendance record. The event concluded with distributing special mementos to the students which had an inscribed message – ‘Be better than average’ and also a special edition of a year book- Udgam Matters, that journaled the journey of the students of class XII. Udgam School wishes all the students best of luck for the XII board exams.

Encouraging to explore activity-based learning have made the students attempt and furnish themselves with skills in critical thinking and creativity. The students of Grade 3 were asked to prepare shapes of internal organs of the human body. They used different internal organs of the body using clay and wheat dough.
