este es el ubuntu que me llego, hace poquito lo había pedido pero no encontraba las fotos ;) me llego uno de 64-bit y el de 32-bit
Un screenshot donde utilizo el Safe Graphico Mode del CD de Ubuntu 7.04. Utilizo Gaim, Gimp y FireFox. Ademas exploraba mis archivos bajo Windows.

I had to head into Ubuntu "recovery mode" (command line) to pull up xorg.conf in vi and edit out my mistake.
It's pasted on the outside of my door, replacing my old Apple sticker, and my old broken lock (Vista...bad security. Haha?) I used a lemonade can, a DVD, a Gatorade bottle cap, a quarter, and a hair comb for measurement tools.
The playbook installs the official Visual Studio Code version via snap. My dotfiles configuration enables the fonts (Fira Code Retina) and settings I usually use.

Attempting to install Ubuntu 7.04 on an old laptop, probably the alternate install disc maybe the normal disc by mistake. All I know is it went apeshit near the end when it tried it finish the install and restart. All I saw was KILLED over and over again. Never seen such an angry PC before. Mind you, I was installing it to a 200 mhz laptop. I will find the right OS for you, do not fret little Compaq. :>
