On a surprisingly empty Maid Marian Way, 1977 Nottingham Leyland Fleetline 210 (UTV 210S) has just passed Castle Gate and the 'Royal Children' pub

I believe this must be the 1980s as the locally registered Cortina to the left is a W-reg (Aug 80 - Jul 81) and I think NCTs livery had changed by the '90s - but quite when I don't know.

Love this aircraft more than any that fly to Hong Kong, its just about the only classic 747 you see here now.

I built this camera mount back in 2023 for my Polaris Ranger UTV. I was becoming frustrated with setting up a tripod, both in and outside the cab. This mount can be quickly taken on and off. I used a Manfrotto 138 leveling head on a Manfrotto tripod center column. It’s more than stable enough even when at its highest setting. Paired with my Wimberley gimbal, it’s shown here holding my Nikkor 600mm f/4G ED VR with Nikon TC-14E II telextender on a Z8 – 15+ pounds total. Of course I don’t move the vehicle with the camera and lens mounted. The best thing is that the Ranger is a great camera blind as the critters around here mostly ignore farm machinery and other vehicles, and the red color hasn’t presented a problem. It weighs about 1,000 pounds so it’s a pretty solid base. (I even added a cup holder since the vehicle cup holder has been hijacked to support the front of the mount.)

seen passing 'The Plough' public house in Crowhurst,East Sussex on 24th May 2011.It is operating the weekly Tesco free bus T8 from Ninfield to the Tesco Extra store in St. Leonards-On-Sea.Apart from one early morning schoolday bus in one direction only,this is the only bus to serve the village.It is a Volvo B10B with Plaxton Verde body that was new to Nottingham as M607 UTV.It had recently been partially repainted in the company's new bus livery,with the lighter green relief.

After landing from their HALO jump, the 4-man special operations patrol derig the UTVs that were airdropped at the RV point.

Note: I didn't have any other materials, so I use Lego Cloth Truck cover to simulate a parachute.

More than a little off route, is Nottingham City Transport's Volvo B10B Plaxton Verde M609 UTV. The bus is pictured at Red Street, Newcastle under Lyme having been taken for fueling for it's onward journey to Kent with It's sister 608. Not being a particular lover of Volvos, I guess that I'd made my mind up that I wasn't going to like them as we went to the old South Notts. garage to collect them. However by the time we'd returned to the Potteries, I'd changed my mind. 609 is seen here after being spruced up, with Mow Cop in the distance, the most southerly tip of the Pennines.

These are aimed at the ground so it focuses the beam on the road up to 25 feet in front of me for the safety of other drivers, the spot/beam hybrid is very bright. In very bad conditions the mono headlamp configuration can leave inky dark spots that can hide all kinds of dangers at night in the 15-25 foot range from the front of the bike. The curvature of the road can impact this as well. The aux driving lights were retro-fitted to resolve this issue.

Volvo B10B / Plaxton Verde.

New to Nottingham City Transport in June 1995, with fleetnumber 609. Joined the Poynters fleet in February 2008. It is seen here at Canterbury Bus Station on layover for Kent CC route 620 - a route which is very lightly loaded in the day, but is busy for school journeys.

Poynters are a long established small independent (since 1973), operating private hire as well as KCC contracted school and local routes. Even in 2014, the majority of their vehicles are Volvo B10B/B10Ms, although they do now have some ex-Stagecoach London Tridents (possibly their first low floors?).
