The temple has several features to be appreciated. The main complex houses ten thousand miniature gold Buddhas. The Buddhas are housed on shelves throughout the complex. The grounds also host a seven story stupa utilizing authentic Chinese architecture. But the real treat lies within the stupa, a 5 story tall bronze statue of Buddha. The Buddha is a truly awesome work of art that needs to be see

Milwaukee Road train "Southeastern"204 is rolling through Schneider, IN., with a trio of SD40-2's. The train is utilizing trackage rights over Conrail (former NYC Big Four Egyptian Line). In 1979, the Milwaukee Road abandoned their own line (The Southeastern), and started using Conrail, to get down to Terre Haute. I remember thinking how cool these two digit SD40-2's were, because they used to roam the Milwaukee Roads Pacific Extension.

I'm always pleasantly surprised by the arrival of the full moon, appearing over the trees across the lake and slowly but steadily moving higher and left to right across my wall of windows, fully in my range of view even while lounging on the couch. An unexpected treat always bringing a small smile. On particularly clear nights, it lights up the lake, now just about frozen over and already being utilized as a more convenient thoroughfare for some of the local denizens. I suppose some anticipate this monthly phenomenon by following calendars or charts. I believe I'll continue to be surprised...

The last of 4 images utilizing spheres from Google and Bing images banks and manipulating them. Increasingly, these spheres took on an aspect of "Abstract Surrealism", something Max Ernst was a master of. His work in this area, toward the end of his life, is largely ignored and an over-looked body of extremely important art. At least I think so.

Kinetic: Relating to, caused by, or producing motion.
These are called “Kinetic” photographs because there is motion, energy, and movement involved, specifically my and the camera’s movements.
I choose a light source and/or subject, set my camera for a long exposure (typically around 4 seconds), focus on my subject and push the shutter button. When the shutter opens I move the camera around with my hands...large, sweeping, dramatic movements. And then I will literally throw the camera several feet up into the air, most times imparting a spinning or whirling motion to it as I hurl it upward. I may throw the camera several times and also utilize hand-held motion several times in one photo. None of these are Photoshopped, layered, or a composite photo...what you see occurs in one shot, one take.
Aren’t I afraid that I will drop and break my camera? For regular followers of my photostream and this series you will know that I have already done so. This little camera has been dropped many times, and broken once when dropped on concrete outside. It still functions...not so well for regular photographs, but superbly for more kinetic work.

Not utilized for decades in passenger service, the Holly Depot has set unused and somewhat forlorn for years between the former GTW (now CN) Holly Sub and the former Pere Marquette (now Lake State) Saginaw Sub in the heart of town. After striking a sneaky deal with the village of Holly, the depot was sold to the village with the stipulation that it be moved off of railroad property. That move will happen this summer or fall, making scenes like this one no longer possible. Coming north into the fast falling sun, X251 comes into a hole in the shadows as they pass the depot heading north with a solid train of loaded racks for the IHB at Gibson.

The next to join us on the stage is MISS SL ♛ Romania, Abbie!
---
MISS SL ♛ Romania tells us, "The Zodiac sign i have chosen for this competition is Aquarius. In Latin, it translates to 'Water Bearer,' and it is the eleventh astrological sign in Western Astrology. The reason I have chosen this sign is when researching, I found that I can relate to many of its qualities, even though I myself am a Gemini. My styling is partially inspired by the Dutch designer Iris van Herpen. Her designs are a form of futuristic Avant Garde, made possible by intelligent use of fabrics and 3D printing for some unique styles. I have used the element of water as a base for my outfit, with the water flowing around my skirt. And of course, what water bearer would be caught without something to carry the water in."
MISS SL ♛ Romania is wearing a bodysuit, skirt, sleeves, and leg chains from Ersh. She adds shoes from KC Couture, jewelry from Orsini and Michan, and makeup from both Goreglam and Identity Faces.
Finally, she utilizes water around her skirt, a headpiece, and nails that she has created herself to help complete her ensemble.
Thank you, MISS SL ♛ Romania!

A view of the Malladeta Tower in Villajoyosa (Alicante), highlighting in a timeless evocative landscape that looks like it was taken out of a fantasy fairy tale, such as that recounted in the mini series "The Tenth Kingdom", a wonderful combination of fantasy, comedy, romance and drama, but not too much violence, the one that I could enjoy watching with my daughters some years ago :-)

Typically restricted to rocky shores, black guillemots utilize the cliffs, crevices and boulders for their nests, hunting the inshore waters for benthic prey. Compared to other auks they forage fairly close to the colony, in the breeding season mostly in inshore waters more than 50m in depth, farther afield in the winter months.
They dive for food from the surface, swimming underwater. They mainly eat fish and crustaceans, also some mollusks, insects and plant material.

Thankfully only having one track of 40 cars and kicking out one bad order, train BP2 was able beat the evening sun after waiting for its turn out of Blue Island Yard.
Engineer Nick Justice wastes absolutely no time getting up to track speed, skirting across the diamonds at Blue Island JCT and the Cal Sag Channel in run 8 with the GP40-3 rebuild twins (IHB 4011/4013) bound for Union Pacific’s Proviso Yard. After 4 years, this pair is still looking as fresh as ever, as these units are two of six on the roster with PTC. After being assigned on the 115 Burns Harbor Turn that utilizes the NS Chicago Line for the past 3 years, they’ve recently been taken off since CP/Metra is making all Harbor trains into Bensenville Yard initialize PTC for the past 2 months…something that’s been a thorn in my side this year as they don’t always run to Proviso where they don’t need PTC and would use Harbor power. The past couple Bensenville trips in recent weeks have ran with foreign power, as Blue Island Yard doesn’t always have their PTC units around…something that should change here in the near future. A significant place utilized by the Snuneymuxw people for thousands of years and traditionally known as Saysutshun, Newcastle Island is a wondrous escape from the bustling urban center of Nanaimo just across the harbour.
Alongside the strong First Nations presence and culture on the island, it is also home to many rich histories which include coal mining, a sandstone quarry, and herring salteries, all of which make Newcastle Island a must-see eco-tourism destination for those visiting Nanaimo.

The ship features a large lower cockpit with space for several crew as well as a rear troop deployment space and several turrets toward the front and back. I've wanted to make this vehicle for over two years, and I'm really glad that it's finally finished. The model has a wingspan and length of over two feet, and I hope to bring it to some Lego expos this year. Thanks for looking!
As traditionally defined:
a. To sail or travel about, as for pleasure or reconnaissance;
b. To go or move along, especially in an unhurried or unconcerned fashion;
c. To travel at a constant speed or at a speed providing maximum operating efficiency for a sustained period;
d. To move leisurely about an area in the hope of discovering something.
All perfectly characterizing my dear loons who remain still, providing the ideal canoe companions and the perfect example of how to best utilize the lake. Here, the male shown in the morning fogs which now characterize the lake, they will stay until the first signs of ice arrive.

The creaking of rails and the resounding rumble of GE motors echo through Natural Tunnel as CSX trackage rights coal load C090 snakes its way through. They're are framed as they exit the south portal of the tunnel, making their way south for unloading at the massive Eastman Chemical Company in Kingsport, TN.
Natural Tunnel is a massive naturally formed limestone cave located in the Natural Tunnel State Park near Duffield, Virginia. The 850 foot long, 80 foot tall and up to 200 foot wide tunnel was carved over thousands of years as groundwater slowly dissolved the limestone. The railroad has utilized this natural oddity to haul traffic through the mountain since 1893 when the South Atlantic and Ohio railroad constructed the first tracks through the tunnel. This line would be a connecter from Bristol, TN, to Big Stone Gap, VA and the coalfields of southwestern Virginia. The line was later assumed by the Virginia and Southwestern Railroad 1899 and was dubbed the “Natural Tunnel Route”. The Southern Railway would acquire controlling interest in the line in 1906 and would run the "Lonesome Pine Special" until passenger service ended in 1939.
In 1967, The Commonwealth of Virginia purchased the property and the Natural Tunnel State Park was opened to the public 1971.
Natural Tunnel has been a tourist attraction for over a century and is one of the most iconic shooting locations for railroad photographers in the Appalachian Mountains. Today it provides passage for NS and CSX trains via Norfolk Southern’s Appalachia District.

This is a dilapidated scoreboard that used to at the eastern end of the field at Hinchliffe Stadium in Paterson which thanks to New Jersey congressman Bill Pascrell from the district who kept pushing that Hinchliffe Stadium be included in the Great Falls National Park and thus protected. Many a developer had their eye on the property overlooking the Paterson Great Falls, but Representative Pascrell realized the historic significance of the stadium, which was a baseball field for the professional Negro Leagues and actually had auto racing amongst the many entertainment & sports that utilized Hinchliffe Stadium as their venue. Larry Doby, who was the first black professional in the American League played here following the great Jackie Robinson who was the first overall in MLB in the National League. When I was in Jersey attending to my son’s affairs when he passed away in an automobile accident in February, I visited the Great Falls and was pleasantly surprised when I saw restoration work being done on the field. I recently learned the the New Jersey Jackals, a minor league club that currently calls Yogi Berra Field in Montclair home will be moving to Hinchliffe as their new home field so baseball is coming back to the Great Falls District! - - [ ] #developportdev @gothamtomato @developphotonewsletter @omsystem.cameras #excellent_america #omsystem @bheventspace @bhphoto @adorama @tamracphoto @tiffencompany #usaprimeshot @apple @newjerseyisntboring @newjerseyisbeautiful @patersongreatfalls @nationalparkservice @seepassaiccounty #hinchliffestadium #patersongreatfalls
New Topographics photographers utilized document style image making " to provide a format for the emerging ecological consciousness" which was evolving in the 70's.
Indeed many interviews show "they were not environmentalists, but rather they simply were artists making pictures in places that interested them."

Sometimes it is fun to travel on my computer. Especially in winter when the days are short and cold! This is an image created by utilizing Google Maps Streetview.
Attention, troopers! This is Admiral Tarkin with new orders. The chancellor has voiced his concern over the new threats arising in the Dathomir system. A malicious group known as Night Sisters has repeatedly interfered with our military expeditions. Reports show that this group and its members utilize unordinary weaponry and something that, in lack of a better expression, could be described as a sorcery. While you are familiar with the dubious ways of the Jedi already, their abilities might be even more absurd. In consensus with the chancellor, my research team and I have decided that a live subject is needed for further research into this matter. Your mission is to acquire a suitable subject in an assault on one of the Night Sister's lairs on Dathomir. The Jedi are not to be informed of this assignment and will have no part in this operation. I will personally lead the attack. Our assault will be swift and precise. Failure is unacceptable.

Hey there! Welcome to the Dathomir Collaboration! I'm so excited to kick things off today with part one. My part depicts the mission briefing in the hangar of a Venator Class Star Destroyer. A lot of inspiration for the hangar was taken from h2brick's MOC, and obviously, Venator hangars themselves. Speaking of inspiration, the AT-RT is pretty much just a combination of multiple different custom AT-RTs I've seen. Mainly, MClegoboy !. His AT-RT. I would credit the others, but I can't remember their names, and can't find the posts anymore. This thing is certainly rough around the edges. But I had fun trying some new techniques, and in the end, I'm happy with it.
Get excited! Part 2 comes out Thursday, September 3rd!
Builders in the Dathomir Collab:
Pan Am's BFPO rumbles through Brattleboro, VT, utilizing trackage rights over the New England Central between East Northfield, MA, and Bellow Falls, VT for this once a week unit slurry train. The old brick buildings of Brattleboro make a nice backdrop as one of the few painted Pan Am C40s leads this train, running almost ten hours late. Ironically, this trackage was once owned by Guilford (Pan Am's predecessor), but poor maintenance and several Amtrak derailments led to the property being seized by Amtrak, and resold to the Central Vermont, with Guilford retaining trackage rights over the line.
Utilizing a slightly unusual routing, Terminal Railroad's T101 drops down off the High Line, headed for its usual work at Miller Yard on the St. Louis waterfront. In tow are a couple of CN widecabs for routine maintenance at MEI's Arsenal Street shops.
This move most typically exits the south end of TRRA's Madison Yard on the Eads main, crosses the Mississippi river on the MacArthur bridge, and uses the connector immediately above this train to drop down into Miller yard.
Sonoran Lights Chihuly Style.
Although the gardens themselves are very impressive and worth a visit in their own right, the special Chihuly exhibit brings the garden to an entirely different level. Dale Chihuly has his art on display at over 200 museums around the world, and this is the second time he has created an exhibit at the Desert Botanical Garden. Due to an injury that impaired his physical ability to create the art by himself, Chihuly has a team that he utilizes to bring his larger than life visions to reality.
