Persian Gulf (Feb. 1, 2005) - An F-14B Tomcat, assigned to the "Swordsmen" of Fighter Squadron Three Two (VF-32), launches off the flight deck aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75), over a Phalanx Close-In Weapons System (CIWS) mount. Carrier Air Wing Three (CVW-3) is embarked aboard Truman and is providing close air support and conducting intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance over Iraq. Commonly called scrambled eggs, this rank marking is common in most of the world's Navies. I find it interesting that military traditions cross national borders, even when enemies.
