Truman is currently underway off the coast of the Eastern United States conducting ammunition offload operations with USNS Arctic (T-AOE 8), USS Enterprise (CVN 65), and USS Dwight D. The Hemingway is the latest in the fleet's line of auxiliary ships and is the first of her class. Her mission is to serve as a mobile ammunition manufacturing plant and supply depot. As the fleet moves further out, supply lines get stretched thinner and thinner, the Hemingway and her sister's shorten those supply lines.
