Lens known for it's bokeh. Totally manual you must move the camera to get focus. (not cropped)

Jaçanas use their long toes to spread their weight and prevent them from sinking as they walk across the lily pads. The word jaçana is a bird name the Portuguese acquired from the Amazonian Tupi Indians. The alternative name is lily-trotter. Jaçanas are rare among bird species in that it is the male which incubates the eggs and cares for the young. Breeds in wetlands from India to Taiwan.

I keep this in the silverware drawer to use almost daily on jars or lids or other such frustrating things. I think this makes me much more gentle than tossing something across the room, don't you?

Ah, a pair of duck-billed pliers with which to grip, bend, and twist small things. Small enough for my smallish hand.

The Maudaiae type of Paphhiopedilum, single flowered hybrid called after one of the first, and most delightful, hybrids made within this group. Their oval leaves are attractively mottled in green and gray-green, sometimes darkly peppered on the undersides, and their elegant flowers, carried proudly on tall, slender stems.
The Charles A. Dana Discovery Center at the Harlem Meer in Central Park. This was the first time I had walked this area after living in NYC for nearly 37 years. I had no idea how beautiful it is.

Macro Mondays theme Single Use

Pose: Diversion - Look Away
Here is a photo of what use to be a Sears store, at the corner of Crosstimbers and N. Shepherd Drive, on the north side of Houston Texas, USA. My family shopped here a lot when I was a kid. The toy department was up stairs and at one time there was a cafe in the corner that the camera is pointed at. The photo was taken back in August 2022, with a Canon 80D with a EF-S 18-135mm lens with adjustments made in post-processing. Enjoy!

One of my attempts at the "Macro Mondays" theme "Single Use".
Shot with a Nikon "LS-3510AF 50 mm F 3.5" (scanner) lens on a Canon EOS R5.
My silicone pastry brush that I mostly use for basting with accompanying olive oil. The brush is both very functional and bright. It is too tall to be shown in full. Maximum width is 1.5 inches. For the Macro Mondays theme "Member's Choice - Found in the Kitchen".
