Our USB Wristbands are great for trade shows and events. They are also a top hit with schools and universities.
I bought a $75 microscope yesterday to look at our local algae with.
This is digital scope with a usb cable that works well with my mac. I
did buy a piece of $15 software called miXscope to take pictures,
make movies, make measurements, add subtitles, and draw on the
screen. The scope does not take very good 60x and 200x photos out of
the box due to a low power LED backlight. After fifteen minutes of
getting frustrated I took the toy apart and added a 1 watt white LED
and now I've been getting some great results.
USB Ports and a port for a switch to cut the 5v from the USB to the main circuit. This enables me to turn off the devices when the computer is still on.
The PIC18F2X/4XK50 devices, available in 28- and 40/44-pins, offer a cost-effective, pin-compatible migration option for customers utilizing legacy PIC18 USB MCUs. The three family members feature 1.8-5V operation, and integrate a “Charge Time Measurement Unit” for higher performance cap-touch sensing as well as measurement in applications such as audio docks and data loggers. Seven multinational corporations spent years and millions of dollars to devise a universal serial bus standard, including very careful specification of what the connector should be. Why in the spaghetti monster's name did they make it *exactly* the right size to fit into an RJ45 ethernet jack?
And why did IBM put the USB and ethernet jacks right next to each other so you stand a 50/50 chance of plugging into the wrong one?

A pre-existing USB drive decorated with epoxy putty (a mix of Sylmasta A+B and SuperCarve) plus a couple of beads for eyes.
I've already had one commission for another of these, and I'd be happy to make more. :)
Update: I've written an entry about USB sculptures in my blog now.

PicoScope 2203 USB Oscilloscope.
Just arrived today after a four week wait (must be fresh out of the assembly line!). It has two inputs and one output for arbitrary waveform generation.
Comes with a great app for Windows You-Know-What and drivers for Linux, but it says Fedora 8... not sure if it'll work with Ubuntu yet.
4 inch record doesn't play on this one,. you need a real turntable! :O)

One of my designs I have been working on is a Mobius Strip USB Holder. I was thinking I would be printing the final product at Shapeways, but I gave it a go on the MakerGear M2. The bottom (where the supports were) were initially messy, but it was BEAUTIFUL after sanding. Unfortunately, I don't have an After picture. Why? My kids decided it was a toy and lost it in our yard. That green has been proven difficult to find. I suspect it'll be easier to find come winter. : )
