Wishing all our American friends all the best for this yearly celebration when their fallen soldiers are honoured. It is celebrated always on the last Moday in May. Canadians in Newfoundland and Labrador also celebrate Memorial Day; I believe in July. The reason being is that when these Provinces were founded they did not yet belong to our Current Dominion of Canada.
Sorry that the hydro wires kind of got in the way of this shot, but I could not get a better one with both flags open as it depended on the wind to flutter them more open.
You can't actually find this set of flags. I took 11 consecutive shots of the same flag, with the wind whipping them around, and put them against my own background. Look for a Sunday Slider version tomorrow.

Most of the time, you don't even mind taking the garbage out to the nearest road when you get to return to this setting and realize, this is where you live!

Rock Legends Cruise VI ~ w/ Molly Hatchet
Patriotic Southern Rock and Blues Band
Vet-signed US Flag given as a gift by US Veterans
Main deck-stage ~ Day Four ~ 12:15 PM
*[The back-story: Molly Hatchet is a very patriotic band
with strong ties to the USA Military. They always mention
the sacrifices of our men. Two Veterans came on stage
and presented this flag to the band as a form of thanks]
*[On a personal note: I thanked this lead singer while waiting
on the customs-line, getting off the ship. A very firm handshake,
kind smile, and a warm, lovely man! All of the Legends were
patriotic! Many wore US flags during their shows. I must say the expression this band uses with Veteran Respect; "Hell Yeah!"]
*[All proceeds from Rock Legends Cruises go to the Native
American Heritage Association, a non-profit organization
dedicated to fighting hunger and providing basic life necessities
to families living on Reservations in South Dakota, U.S.A.]
For love of country they accepted death, and thus resolved
all doubts, and made immortal their patriotism and their virtue.

This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. ~Elmer Davis
Proof the camera was in Winthrop. It was so hot (+39c) we spent little time outside.
Winthrop's main street (Riverside Avenue) is also Highway 20. For about 3 blocks the Avenue is a Hollywood western movie set. Cute, cool, touristy, oh yes. But underneath there is good lodging on the Methow River (Hotel Rio Vista), a couple of fine restaurants (Arrowleaf Bistro), lots of artist shops, a brewery (Old School House Brewery) and some fine outdoor patios set on the river bank. Winthrop is worth a one night stay IMO.
Winthrop is known for the American Old West design of all the buildings in town, making it a tourist destination. The town theme idea was inspired by the example of Leavenworth, Washington, which in turn was heavily based on Solvang, California. Winthrop is a popular cross-country skiing site, with over 120 miles (200K) of groomed trails. Other popular activities include rock climbing, hiking, mountain biking, river rafting, horse-back riding, hunting, fishing, golfing, spectacular sight-seeing and other outdoor activities.
Events include the Winthrop Rhythm and Blues Festival, the Methow Valley Chamber Music Festival, live theatre and many art galleries.
Winthrop is home to the oldest legal saloon in Washington State (Three Fingered Jacks).
The North Cascades National Park—with its pristine forests and stunning views—borders to the west.
This a federal holiday in the United States for remembering the people(veterans) who died while serving in the country's armed forces.

The Brooklyn side of the East River tower.
The pedestrian walkway on the bridge is a lot narrower than I had envisioned and the allotment is split 50/50 with bicycles - like get over on the pedestrian side or chance being smacked by a bicycle.
Cool bridge for its 1883 May 24 opening. Within 24 hours, 250,000 people walked across the bridge.,

As the Rotterdam and Zaandam idled in the waters off the Port of Ft. Lauderdale the two ships were under constant surveillance by all kinds of water and air craft.

The element of Freedom.
Some freedom comes with a price. American freedom continues to decline. But the resilient people will continue to fight corporate manipulation and the misinformation of the country elected officials.
Don't despair, we must work around, get the truth out and make this country better.
Happy Independence Day.
