UP 5932 & 8282 pull an empty coal train at Antelope, NE with UP 5578 pushing at the rear. Unfortunately the where no antelopes in sight. (September 15, 2005)
Am 15. September 2005 ziehen UP 5932 und 8282 bei Antelope, NE einen leeren Kohlenzug durch die einsame Prairie, um bei einem der Kohlenbergwerke des Poder River Basin wieder beladen zu werden. Am Zugende schiebt mit der UP 5578 eine weiter Lok nach. Leider ließen sich die namensgebenden Antelopen nicht blicken. (051386)

Once a year a pull out a few sets from years past to start of the new year. In 2024 this year I have went back & revamped one of my favorite severe storms photo shoots of 2018
Back then I over colorized & over saturated the images. Pixelated & not my best work... Images were what I wanted but not the final product. If you want to see those to compare to these remastered images... here is your Flickr Link to that set of images...

Lightning is my forte... It is why I chase storms. To have an photo opportunity come up like this & traveled only 6 blocks from my home to get these pics...Gotta Luv Nebraska!

About that evening...
An epic night of sunset light and storm light @ twilight. Its almost every storm chasers dreams... or at least, in my own opinion, to get along side of a storm like this, as its firing away some incredible CC & CG every few seconds. What more could you ask for...
I was that Lucky Guy that evening. Just mother nature and I. Close to home after a few long storm chasing jaunts is just fine by me. She was producing and I was capturing every incredible second of this storm.. No Forking Bolt went away that evening without me getting a snap of its presence..

I have not been around flickr for awhile so I thought I should post An update to the mothball fleet at Bremerton. Only one aircraft Carrier is left since I last took a photo a few years back - the CV-63, USS Kitty Hawk.
The other ships in no particular order are: USS Dubuque, USS Rodney M. Davis, USS Ford, USS Ingraham, USNS Rainier, USNS Bridge.

Vineyard scenes I've encountered while finishing the work there for this summer, hopefully. Grape picking should be the next, in about a month-and-a-half, if the weather serves us well.
Taken with ancient Konica Minolta Dynax 7D digital camera and a slightly less old Sony DT 18–55mm F3.5–5.6 SAM kit lens.
CCD sensors can really produce magical colours.
My new US Paratrooper! Credit to Bantha for the spare chute idea. It features:
-Dust Goggles (Lego ones cut then superglued elastic on the back)
-M1 Helmet
-Removable Helmet Netting! (with drawstring so as not to damage the precious M1)
-Working handmade Parachute (not the best, it took 5 mins!)
-M1A1 Carbine Prototype!
This is the title of the display in the London Natural History Museum of the kind of "modern" people (Cro Magnon type) that lived in western Europe some 30 000 years ago. This is another brilliant reconstruction and, by putting a straw or whatever into the man's mouth, showing the playfulness or the freedom of modern human beings from their environment.
A simple title for a simply lovely pair, they came up together pushing through the substrate and so they are loved.

OK, so I have found out about some really strange side of the internet. Apparently it is very popular in Brazil it seems to be a fake person. There is a TON of people using stolen photos on orkut.com in profiles they make up of fake people. They have groups all about being fake people. I do not speak Portuguese, so I have had a great flickr contact (who's daughter was a victim of this as well) translate for me. I do not know much more than what I have said.
Thanks to another contact who found her daughter on there and recognized Gemma, I have been introduced to all the rage among teens in Brazil. I went through and found a few other flickr folks featured...complete with new names and I am sure fancy new fake life stories in Brazil.
I have to say. I just don't get it.
