We too often look elsewhere for beauty, don't we? Sometimes, it is nearby. Submitted for your approval: the Upper Tahquamenon Falls in Michigan's Upper Peninsula, a very beautiful place. The color comes from tannic acid leaching out of nearby cedar swamps.

Nice to get back onto the Southern Edge of Kinder Scout yesterday. Earlier in the year I’ll be exploring the Northern Edge. Much busier around here though.

If this is your car i hope you dont mind me adding this photo I love minis i have not seen a real mini in many years and often worked on them. the world record for how many people you can get in a mini stands at 28 I can honestly say if you offered me any one of these 3 vehicle i would take the mini no question.
Captured near the beginning of the tour, the canyon quickly widens into huge galleries before narrowing again into a traditional slot canyon. Was it crowded? Absolutely. Was it worth it? I think so

The Ammersee is the third largest lake in Bavaria, southwest of Munich, an idyllic jewel in the middle of nature. Along the shores of Lake Ammersee are picturesque towns like Dießen, Utting, Herrsching. On Lake Ammersee there are still old-fashioned paddle steamers, you can get on and off at various places around the blue-green lake.
Upper Antelope Canyon
These canyons are always so red with highlights in yellow, so I converted it to B&W then added red in the shadow and blue to the highlights to get this effect.

Last waterfall of the hike that's worth posting. We missed it on the first pass and had to drive back to get it on this trip. The rule says if we don't finish the hike we have to go back and we wanted to finish... not that we'd mind going back.

On the plane ride to Portland we sat next to a guy who lived in Sandia Park, right up the road from us. He raved "You've gotta try Silver Falls. Ten waterfalls in a single hike!" He really sold it, to the point of pulling out his phone and showing us pictures.
With that much enthusiasm, how could we resist?
Descriptions vary as to the trail length: 6.9, 7.2, 8.7 or 9 miles, but in those miles are 10 waterfalls, all different and each would be worthy of a hike of its own. Put all 10 on one hike and you've got a winner.
