Finally I was able to design a Hindu Goddess! I didn't do so for so many years for 2 main fears:
- didn't wish to go beyond 64 grids (uncharted territory)
- didn't wish to make a messed up model, would've pissed people off!
[These fears are still pretty much alive XD]
I designed this months ago, for a competition,basically as an experiment. It turned out well, so I am comfortable sharing it now. It's not perfect though - I wish the face could've been better...but I learnt to shape the crown ,hair and ears for the 1st time!
(And yes, the irony is not lost on me - me folding something depicting wisdom+music+arts!😆)
About the model:
The Goddess is standing on a swan, itself perched on a lotus. The Goddess' 4 arms hold the rosary (meditation/spirituality) , the Veena (music and arts/harmony) and a book/script(knowledge). One hand is shown giving blessings.
The Goddess is usually depicted in white color, signifying truth, peace and purity. The swan is considered a sacred bird in Hindu mythology, which, offered a mixture of milk and water, is said to be able to drink the milk alone (signifies wisdom to discriminate between good and evil.)
Maybe now I can give Indian Gods & Goddesses a good try?!
