A photoshop/illustrator mock up of a "carbon-ized" browser, displaying the actual Mercurial site which I also designed. My concept: that the company could do the impossible, show you things you'd never seen before, and help any client to flourish (even in adverse conditions). All done while working as Lead Graphic Designer for Mercurial Communications. This visual treatment was also intended to illustrate my idea for producing a lightweight, large-scale molded plastic browser for marketing use at trade shows.
It's funny, just yesterday I was admiring how subtle Basecamp's "you should upgrade" nag was. The button was greyed out and there was just a tiny bit of unobtrusive text underneath. It was appropriate.

Cause I'm perfectly happy with the number of projects I have now, thanks, and I'll let you know when I need to upgrade, thanks.
With screensharing we learned that the user always sees him/herself on the left... so our dreams of doing a digital "wave" were shattered.
This is a screenshot of Inkscape 0.46 running in X11 2.3.2 on Mac OS X 10.5.6. The UI text (menus, dialogs, tooltips) is enormous, way bigger than it should comfortably be.

A first partial mockup for a "next-gen" Netscape browser. The idea was to bring about a measure of elegance and simplicity while allowing for the expansion of features (ie; the addition of RSS and News feeds). As Lead Graphic Designer for Mercurial Communications, I was responsible for this concept and design.
