This youngster was hanging around with two adult does. They were curious as I slowly approached......they were in the woods but close to a parking lot. They never did run away, but slowly walked off after a couple of minutes.
I saw these two tumbleweeds kissing the east Mission Bay water here at San Diego, California during my last walk for the year 2020 and this photo claims to be my last one also for 2020. When walking by the beginning of the movie The Big Lebowski came top of mind as an appropriate answer to the Our Daily Challenge topic of:

Happy Trails and Happy New Year!
I've been very busy the past two weeks, but I missed playing with textures. And since today I received my new Sigma 24-70 2.8, I had to try it out...
I must confess I love doing still life, because you can go crazy with the textures, the possibilities are limitless.

My latest experiment is redscaling Fujicolor C200, which I then rated at ASA/ISO 12. "Overexposing" by four stops really tones down the reds, which is what I was trying to do; I prefer these yellows and browns. Rating at 12 also meant I was able to shoot on really sunny days between f/1.4 and f/2.8 to get some shallow depth of field.

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
I couldn’t decide between these two edits. I look so sad here, but I liked my makeup a lot. I guess it’s ok to wear this emotion on my sleeve sometimes.
One of my friends got herself a brand new D60. Just couple of minutes after we met, this girl passed us holding another D60. It seems Nikon is on the wave.
Taken the same day as the previous post, this is the view behind me.

Returned Friday from 7 days of shooting at Bosque. The foliage was wonderful and the cranes abundant. Last year it was primarily about snow geese. This year it was 98% about cranes. In spite of poor light a couple of days, it was a joy to see the birds and photograph them, with the occasional nice image.
Lots of obstacles have prevented me from posting or commenting over the last month and I have missed seeing everyone's wonderful images. I look forward to reconnecting.
bringing water from below to above. One, self replicating.
The other ceases to duplicate the moment thoughts about it disappear.
What are we to make of the difference between things that manifest without thought, and those that manifest only with thought?
One could answer: "Thought itself is a thoughtless manifestation, i.e., thought grows into existence through no effort of its own."
To put it more clearly, a mind that thinks, grows into existence before it can think.
Would this be right?
I have been invited by The Huffington Post to post my images regularly to their photography blog. This is my third post: Rust and Roll on Route 66
