It is a cruel world out there... especially for wild turkeys. Wild turkeys lay 10 to 14 eggs. Some or all of the eggs might get eaten by possums, raccoons, or other predators. The poults that hatch out of the eggs have the possibility of becoming lunch for a hawk, owl, fox, or raccoon. This hen had two poults left and she seems to be keeping a keen eye on both of them. And sometimes we think we have it rough!

Tuesday's L-CHI101 finally shows up two days later in Joliet, IL with a Warbonnet, Bluebonnet and a mix of BNSF units. The old main 1 signal has been slowly turning in the wind and is now facing the way it did again.

The Two Harbors Light is the oldest operating lighthouse in the state of Minnesota. The lighthouse is located in the city of Two Harbors, overlooking Lake Superior's Agate Bay. The construction of the lighthouse was completed in 1892, and it is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The 49 foot tower is made of brick and the head keeper's residence is attached. Nowadays, the lighthouse is still used as an active aid to navigation, as well as being a museum and a bed and breakfast. I took this shot thru a chainlink fence 'cause I was too cheap to pay for the tour...
Arctic turned out to be a bit of a bully so we replaced him with two new yearlings. Iggy pop in front and Icarus behind. (They come with registered names). Although a year younger Iggy is larger than the others. I think he has a bit of giraffe in him.
Reprise of a shot that I did a couple of weeks ago. Another view of the same staircase, this time with my 12mm prime wide-angle lens, and twice as much me's tha last time. I like this version more than the previous one.

This guys learning how to catch food. The parents still feed them at the nest 10 am and 2 pm.
My guess is they will be gone next week

I like being able to get two species of anything within one photo. Here is a Spotted Deer , aka Axis or Chita; deer. (people in Texas will know these) and a Sambar deer.
