Both elegant ole stylish ladies these , both 95 years old and holding their age well and both are sisters , 1926 Lancia Lambdas . Their on a Sunday outing with other members of the Lancia Car club with these girls getting that added respect for age and grace .

This is (yet another) shot from one of the most visually stunning shows that I have ever seen. It features two members of 'Kataklo', an athletic dance group from Italy, composed entirely of former Olympic gymnasts.
I became friendly with the show's producer (Angella Kwon) this year, having met (and become friendly with) her sister Boram (who currently studies at my old university in Stirling) last year. Both are South Korean and Angella was producing two South Korean shows at this year's Edinburgh Fringe...and also Kataklo.
We were having lunch, the day before the last Kataklo show (I had only seen them perform on the Royal Mile) when Angella kindly invited me along and asked me to take photographs. I could not have taken this shot with my old camera. This (and several others like this) were taken at 3200 ISO, hand held with a shutter speed of 1/20th of a second (I just love image stabilisation) and relying on autofocus. I love my Canon EOS-5D!
Just to prove I know a number of talented people, my friend Ken Campbell has a progressive rock group called 'Crooked Mouth'. At the moment, he is preparing their second album ('Hold in the Sun') for release. I will be providing photographs for the CD, the idea being to produce a photo that represents each different song. This is a large and flashy butterfly and I have been pleased so see so many of them this spring. All these images were taken in Montell, Uvalde County, Texas.
These two pine trees were massive. Taken during hiking around Trout Brook Recreation Area in Jefferson, MA.
Guarding nation's boundaries is a career which involves a great amount of sacrifice not the least of which is surviving intense cold and lack of basic amenities at these heights!

Macro Mondays: two
The larger one is under two inches, the smaller one barely more than an inch. I thought the undersides of both quite lovely, with some really pretty details.
Two minute exposure of the golden gate.
It didn't really seem like the clouds were moving all that fast, but the longer exposure really brought out the motion. There were actually some surfers, but they didn't hold still long enough to get a clear shot. How rude...

Martha Hall Kelly - Original title :Lilac Girls
Both have stories which deal with the Second World War and in particular the women's concentration camp at Ravensbrück. The Lilac Girls is in a large part based of facts with some fiction while The story in The Paris Secret has only got the concentration camp as a smaller part of the story.
Both were very sad but good reads.
