This last two weeks we travelled to Alaska and then back home and then onto Grasslands, Saskatchewan to see the night sky. A lot of miles!
I don't know how to photograph the night sky but my husband did for the first time. Our experience was ASTOUNDING! He came away from that experience with some beautiful shots.
Living in a city with so much light pollution we seldom get to view the depth of the real night sky. I still cannot process the amount of stars that popped out of the darkness to reveal themselves. We went to bed very late but I needed to look one more time at the sky. I got up at 2:00 am and woke up my husband to come out again. Then we got up at 4:00 am and again went out to see the incredible beauty of the night sky. How small we are as we go about our life's, underneath the canopy of the vast sky!

Used the same feather which I found on street yesterday, the same feather was also in yesterday's shot. This time with my 100mm 2.8L macro glass. First attempt towards photographing water drops on a feather. Though the feather was appearing blackish, I like it was shinning deep purple and blueish when I used flashlight at a certain angle.

C-GLBO, the prototype Bombardier BD-700-2A12 (serial number 70001), was one second away from touching down on runway 33 at Downsview Airport in Toronto, Ontario. It was completing its maiden flight. Originally named Global 7000, the model was subsequently renamed Global 7500 after flight tests confirmed a greater than expected range capability - 7,700NM at Mach 0.85. The chase plane during this mission was C-GERS, the prototype Global 5000 (serial number 9127). It had flown for its first time at the same airport on March 7, 2003.
On a windy and cold day in Randolph, New Hampshire. My photographic forays from the vehicle were numerous, but brief, with the heat turned up high in between.

Two engine houses - such solid construction. I’m pretty sure the one in the background was one of the ones in Poldark.

I was taking a walk with the dog along the pond when these two Eastern Kingbirds landed along the edge. I was lucky that my camera was ready and I was able to get the landing with open wings!

I'm trying to work out a way to use Fomapan 400 as a Kallitype negative, but it's proving difficult to get it to work as I want with Pyro developers. With Pyrocat HD it produces lots of density but higher values are all mashed together into a flat mess. I think I will give up and stick with FP4 for making Kallitype negs.
This is the second of two identically exposed sheets of Fomapan 400, this one developed in home made Mytol, an Xtol ascorbate clone.

Beautiful on the beach yesterday afternoon, and there were quite a few people enjoying the sunshine. I took a lot of gull pics and when I looked at them later, I couldn't believe how many of them had their backs to me!!
Two early risers sit under a shelter watching the sun rise over the River Thames. The Tower of London, HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge can be seen in the distance.
Some overnight rain soon cleared and this Monday morning dawn led to a glorious spring day in London.

On Marina di Vietri beach, there are two reefs called the two brothers. According to a legend, the god Poseidon placed two magnificent reefs to witness the courage of two shepherd brothers sacrificed to save a girl from the fury of the waves.
The legend says that one day two shepherds were with their sheeps close to the beach of Vietri . Looking around, they have been enchanted by the beauty of a woman who was swimming over there. But, suddenly the sea got heavy and they rushed to help her. The two shepherd brothers were followed by thier sheeps, too. Everything was in vain, because all of them dead by drowning.
The king of the sea, Poseidon, could not save them. He was impressed by so much generosity and turned the brothers into the two big reefs and the sheep into the smaller rocks. Today, trusting or not to this belief, you can admire (or swimming around) the Reefs in the beautiful scenery offered by the sea of Vietri sul Mare.
This was a little celebratory shot I took a few years ago when I had just gotten over a bad eye injury, so what better way to enjoy that first drive than by hopping in a little blue Maserati GT Spyder V8. Definitely a two thumbs up day!
