There are days when we see lots of Chipmunks in our yard, and days when we feel lucky to have seen just one.
They are extremely territorial so on the days when the yard seems overrun with them, if/when one of them sees another one they are constantly chasing each, charging with tail erect, to shoo the intruder away and claim victory.
SO, it's a rare treat to see two of them relatively close to each other, like these two, eating in peace. Of course that doesn't mean the chasing commenced moments after this shot was taken.

These two bull moose were fixated on a couple of dogs walking a trail directly behind me with their owner in Arapaho National Forest. Moose are very wary of dogs, thought to be because they see dogs as a threat due to their similarities with wolves, their primary predator. Though wolves aren't in this area of Colorado, moose still have that instinctive reaction. In this shot the two bulls appear to be looking right at me, but they couldn't have cared less about my presence, ignoring me for most of the two hours I spent with them.
Three million views as of yesterday. Thanks everyone.
Will be absent for a few weeks starting tomorrow.
My heart is a wolf ruled by two moons: One which beckons me back into the night, the other is calling me home.
Two Jack Lake, nestled in Banff National Park, Alberta, Canada, is a serene mountain lake offering a tranquil escape into nature. With its clear blue waters and picturesque surroundings, Two Jack Lake is a popular spot for camping, picnicking, and water activities. Visitors can enjoy stunning views of the surrounding mountains and forests while immersing themselves in the peaceful ambiance of this charming Canadian Rockies gem.
I was "admonished" (not seriously) by an acquaintance yesterday for not using my Hasselblad enough, so today I accepted the challenge to make some images with it. This frame made use of the 0.5 Proxar closeup filter.

Here's a photo of the Kelp Tank at the Two Oceans Aquarium in the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
The best time to photograph an open-air aquarium is around noon... when the sun is directly overhead... providing the optimum amount of light to the tanks.
Unfortunately this is also the busiest time at the aquarium... with hundreds of people passing through each hour.... which is not ideal when you want a nice clean shot.
But this time my patience was rewarded... after about 45 minutes of waiting for people to clear out of the shot... suddenly the hall emptied except for these two boys and their moms.
The moms looked at me and immediately understood... they smiled and sat down on a bench behind me... and encouraged the boys to go and play down by the glass.
I had about 3 minutes before another group of people entered the hall... I took about 30 photos during that time... this was the best one by far!
It's one of my favourite photos from my book entitled "50 Portraits Cape Town"... now available at Exclusive Books and all the other major local book sellers.

Two Seasons
A poem by Katie Gabrielle
The two seasons
are like a landscape
of powdered snow
decorating the world
just for you to see
Each season is
a new picture
and a brand new
way to look
at life.
Not quite reminiscent of FDR,
we enjoyed discussing worldly events
and perhaps somethings a bit more lighthearted too.
“I could not, at any age,
be content to take my place
by the fireside and simply look on.
Life was meant to be lived.
Curiosity must be kept alive.
One must never, for whatever reason,
turn his back on life.”
- Eleanor Roosevelt
i dropped Nivvy into the bushes and tried to help Noah fix his neck. Then we lost Niv to the Outside World, and went fishing. :3
Two bridges by the Clinton Presidential Library, in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas. The short bridge in the foreground connects to a small island in the Arkansas River. The old rail bridge in the background was built in 1899 and is now used as a pedestrian bridge.
another two berg-cystals, that I wanted to give a try with the green laser, to emphasise the inner structur. This two are vey clear crystals with only minimal enclosures.
