On a cool and rainy day.
I'm sure glad this made explore because I hiked quite a bit through ankle deep mud to get there!

Looking up from beneath the neoclassical wall of Gibson Hall (15 Bishopsgate) at the looming height of the tallest building within the Square Mile, 22 Bishopsgate.
Several layers of London’s architectural history rendered from a single viewpoint, including the old NatWest Tower, which dates back to the 70s, and one of the latest additions to the city’s ever-ascending skyline, 22 Bishopsgate a.k.a. TwentyTwo.
Left of frame is 60 Threadneedle Street, home to Berenberg Bank’s London HQ offices; on the right is 1 Threadneedle Street which dates to the early 90s; straight ahead is 1 Old Broad Street which was built in the late 1880s ...

A dusk shot of 22 Bishopsgate, one of a number of new City of London skyscrapers.
Despite being one of the tallest towers it seems it still doesn't have a catchy nickname yet. Any suggestions ?

From Wikipedia, "22 Bishopsgate, also known as Twentytwo, is a commercial skyscraper in London, United Kingdom. Completed in 2020, it occupies a prominent site in Bishopsgate, in the City of London financial district, and stands at 278 m (912 ft) tall with 62 storeys. The project replaces an earlier plan for a 288 m (945 ft) tower named The Pinnacle, on which construction was started in 2008 but suspended in 2012 following the Great Recession, with only the concrete core of the first seven storeys. The structure was later subjected to a re-design, out of which it became known by its postal address, 22 Bishopsgate."

Day 22 and it's beach hut number 22.
First up .... HAPPY BIRTHDAY to .... EionaR. hope you have a lovely day :)
I was going to avoid beach huts, coz that's too easy ... but ... this beach hut is near to where my Mum spent her final months, and today would have been her 98th birthday.
PS ... the horizon is straight, but nothing else is :))))

It's an "old" picture, I took on monday after a little shower:)
I am thinking so hard about a mirrorless camera like the A7R or A7II. But I am way to uncertain if I should buy one or not... :D
Any opinions? :)
Thanks so much for your support!
Window washers scuttle across the Honolulu skyline. Dangling in boatswain’s chairs at the twenty-second floor, they squeegee their way down to earth between glass and sky.

I got up at 5.30am this morning in order to head into town with my camera before it got busy with the seemingly random crowds of people that like to wander around the city aimlessly on the weekend.
I had a couple of locations I wanted to go to, including a return visit to 1 Poultry with a view to capturing a few images with my tilt shift lens and nicer light than my last grey-skied visit.
On the way between the Bank area and my next location at Broadgate Circle, I looked up from Threadneedle Street and noticed this golden shimmering reflection of the NatWest Tower, mirrored in the back side of the relatively new tower of 22 Bishopsgate, aka TwentyTwo.
This is not an image I have seen anywhere else on Flickr or Instagram, so it felt quite special to capture this novel sight, especially with the beautiful golden sunlight which gave the NatWest Tower such a warm glow at 8.00 in the morning.
This was a quick fire handheld shot from my trusty little Sony RX100 mkIII, as I know the light can change very quickly and I didn't want to waste time rummaging around in my rucksack to retrieve the Canon 6D in case I missed my moment!
If I'm between locations I'll usually put the 6D away (especially if it has that huge 17mm tilt shift lens attached) but will always try to carry the Sony compact just in case something interesting crops up.
(I know it's called Tower 42 these days, but it will always be the NatWest Tower to me! A bit like I will always think of the Sears Tower in Chicago despite it being called the Willis Tower for the past 12 years ...)

Beautiful light late this afternoon at Man O War Bay in Dorset.
Nestled beside the famous Durdle Door, this lovely little cove sits mostly in shadow at this time of day/year with only the Eastern Cliffs soaking up the golden warmth of sunset.
Despite living about an hour away, this is only my 2nd visit to the Lulworth area, but it was a welcome oasis of peace and tranquility after the relative madness of half term at Monkey World.
Wex Week 7
The Leadenhall Building, aka the Cheesegrater, with its angled smooth glass face is starkly juxtaposed with the Lloyds building but reflects only the sky on a brilliant blue windy day punctuated by fast moving cumulus clouds. At ground level the winds diverted down these monoliths blew so hard that lying on the pavement was the only way to stay steady.
Lake 22 trail is one of the most popular trails in Washington and to avoid the cloud I did this one at a Sunday afternoon. The way to the lake was kinda rocky and there were tons of mosquitoes near the lake. The lake was purely melt ice water and it was crystal clear.
Appearances are deceptive: these office buildings do not look radically different in height from this angle. However, 1 Undershaft (formerly the Aviva building) on the left is the baby at 118 metres and just over half the height of the middle building which is the back of the Cheesegrater (The Leadenhall Building) (223m) now put in the shade by the newest monolith on the block, on the right, the imaginatively titled TwentyTwo because it is number 22 Bishopsgate at a vertigo-inducing 278m but still 27m short of the maximum allowed in the City (1000ft). Despite falling slightly short it still makes the skyline of London take another step closer to MegaCity1, London's former tallest building, Tower 42's days must be numbered at a stumpy 183m, unless it is put in architectural aspic with a listing.
The question now with all the remote working that has been imposed is whether anyone is going to want 1,275,000 square feet of prime office space. Probably, eventually.
The Royal 22nd Regiment (R22R) is an infantry regiment of the Canadian Army. Known colloquially in English as the Van Doos (representing an anglicized pronunciation of the French number twenty-two, vingt-deux) or in French as le Vingt-deuxième, the mostly francophone regiment comprises three Regular Force battalions, two Primary Reserve battalions, and a band, making it the largest regiment in the Canadian Army. The headquarters of the regiment is at the Citadelle of Quebec in Quebec City, also the site of the regimental museum, and all three of its regular battalions are stationed at Canadian Forces Base Valcartier in Saint-Gabriel-de-Valcartier, 15 kilometres (9.3 mi) outside of Quebec City. The regiment serves as the "local" infantry regiment for the province of Quebec, where it draws most of its recruits.
London - Tower 42 as seen in TwentyTwo London, taken in Threadneedle Street. Tower 42 (formerly the NatWest Tower) was designed by Richard Seifert in 1971-80, whilst TwentyTwo was completed in 2020 and designed by PLP Architecture.

City of London, England - TwentyTwo Bishopsgate from Threadneedle Street

Really nice waterfall within the creek, just off Mountain Loop Highway. The creek drains from Lake Twentytwo, which I plan to hike to someday (I have hiked to Heather Lake which is just over its western ridge).
