I hope you find them usefull.

So I finally got around to doing my Arm Swap tutorial. As you may or may not know I don't like the long arms on the pre-Club Birthday My Scene guys. So I'm going to show my method for swapping out the long arms with the shorter arms.

1. Here I have my arm swap candidates. Club Birthday River will be getting Fashionista Ken arms and Getting Ready River will inherit Club Birthday River's arms.

2. When you turn the arms palm-up you'll notice a little metal pin in the elbow. You're gonna wanna pop that baby out. You can use anything to do this. Just make sure it's something hard but small enough to fit inside the elbow hole.

3. Once the pin is out, the forearm will separate from the elbow joint.

4. Here are the short arms with the long arms. To reattach them, just put the forearm onto the elbow joint-disc thing, pop the pin back in place and your arm swap is done.

I hope this will be helpful to someone.

Thank you, Xander Perrott, for allowing me to demonstrate your beautiful design!

I'm calling this a kinda glasses tutorial, cause ya, these are like one step so...

If you go searching into the depths of etsy's supplies section you'll find a few sellers with these acrylic glasses in a few different styles.

I ordered from here:

www.etsy.com/shop/SVJewellery?ref=seller_info

I chose them because they were cheap, came in a three pack, the seller does custom sizes, and if you ask nicely they'll send you a mixed color pack with the colors you request (that's what I got)

The default size they have in stock is probably best for msds, they only just fit Knox.

I looked at a few different materials for the arms, but toothpicks worked perfectly. They fit sungly in the holes and won't damage the doll's faceup, and you can decorate them as you want, I left mine plain.

I just used a little bit of white glue to hold them in place and done.

(I don't have a pair but I think MonstroDesigns does the same thing with wire for the arms, these are way cheaper anyway)

Then just decorate as you want. I used some little fruit slices I had (also off etsy) and some crystal things I had left over from an old project.

Super cheap easy project and your doll can have awesome cat eye glasses! :D

macramè tutorial

...and the last for today.

Decorate the inside of the bells with small pointed cylinders of white or colored clay (or, even more fun, glow in the dark), taking inspiration from real jellyfish.

Or decorate the outside. But the how to for that will come in our next installment, with the two hundred last steps of this tutorial.

Snowman Quilt Tutorial @ Sunshine in the Attic

Agora vem a questão "destreza"..

E pra frente Brasil!!! hahaha

Should I make/upload a tutorial for my phone booth to YouTube?

My acc. Is same name as this one.

Es la primera vez que hago un turorial, espero que sirva como referencia.

Start adding the leaves to the stem. Here, I'm using the florist tape to wrap and stick the leaf to the stem.

You could use the masking tape as well and later paint it.

Or look for green washi tape!

Short video tutorial on how to make a 7 wrap thread crochet bullion stitch.

I find that three things help me in making bullion stitches:

#1: I make sure the wraps are evenly side by side against my crochet hook, snuggled together.

#2: When I yarn over, I yarn over at least 1/2 inch away from the wraps and then I pull the thread through the wraps. (the extra thread that you skip winds up in the middle of the bullion stitch)

#3: I hold the wraps gently but firmly in place with my left hand as I pull the thread and crochet hook through the middle of the bullion stitch.

For those interested in how I work, here's a tutorial or run through of my last picture, "Another Century Episode (Team B)".

PART A

1. Background

My white posterboards were too small to use, so I opted for my livingroom wall. It has a slight yellow tint and texture. The texture is smoothed out in photoshop by selecting areas with lasso - copy - paste - gaussian blur. Selecting areas too close to the figures (4) result in overlay when blur is applied. Erase the overlaid areas.

Tip:Sometimes it's not so bad because it kinda creates haze which may work depending on conditions such as: objects in far distance, weather/atmospheric effects like dust, fog, or smog, or adding to the illusion of largeness of a toy robot.

2. Lights

The 3 bulb lamp 2a is mainly used for warm lighting. It's placement dictates what kind of sky background image I'll use. Since it's low relative to the scene, it's going to be a sunset, thus I look for sunset images.

I used 2b along with a white cardboard (to reflect 2b's light) to light up the area on the wall close to 2a that was poorly initially lit.

2c is supplementary lighting so the background (1) area on the left won't be too dark. I also use this light source for scenes that require cooler lighting or even afternoon sun light.

3. Foreground/ground

This item as foam recolored mountain which I use for a lot of my pics.

4. Figures

I took several pics of the figures in order to 1. make it easier to digitally erase the stands, and 2. change up the dof in case I want certain characters with more focus. The images are later evaluated and spliced together in photoshop. Erasing unwanted areas is no hassle.

eg. Xan's (mid character who is jumping) stand blocks out the figure to its right, Laevatein (see 4). I simply copy Xan, then paste in a layer over a picture that was taken without Xan. After that clean up and make sure no unwanted part is in the copy/paste Xan.

5. Stand

I highly recommend a stand. I still move it all around to get tilted shots. Tip: set iso to 100, control your breathing so you won't have shaky hands, and if not.. shoot with the timer.

PART B

Digital

A. Background: Used a sunset image.

1. Placed in layer over original picture, and

2. set layer property to overlay.

3. Adjusted lightness/darkness and saturation to increase vibrancy lost when layer property was changed from normal to overlay.

4. Erased overlapping sky background imagery. Tip:Sometimes it's ok to lightly erase overlap, leaving some to create illusion of reflection.

B. Figures

Created a seperate layer set on 'screen' and airbrushed lit up eyes, and Laevatein's hair. Added another screen layer and went over airbrushed eyes and hair and added blur for glowing effect (then lowered opacity a bit).

In another screen layer I created a colored circle, erased middle leaving a doughnut, multipied layer for further manipulation, and used distortion tool to angle fittingly around Xan.

Used doughnut: Erased unwanted overlapping areas, set slight gaussian blur, multiplied tilted circle layer - set property to screen- added more blurr for glowing effect - set layer opacity down.

Did the same technique for power doughnut behind Xan using a copy of the original doughnut layer, but I changed up it's color patter a bit.

C. Len's flare

Set origin from the right, just off the screen. Selected percentage I thought would be a sufficient amount.

D. Extra

Sharpened a few areas, mostly on Xan's torso, and added dust under Eva 02.
