Pacific Pond Turtle close up profile. I thought it was interesting that the algae on this turtle is the exact same color as the eyes and green markings. Mother Natures Camo in full effect here!!

And this little guy is my new turtle, his name is reptar.

Checking out some turtles from a glass-bottom boat.

This is a "memory-turtle." He has a story to tell! Below the sea... think of all of the tiny items.. that once were special to someone. Perhaps an earring lost when swimming on a late summer afternoon. Perhaps a nail from a sunken ship... or a coin fallen from the pocket of a man who jumped over the side of a boat to save a child. Or even... a jewel tossed off of a cruise ship after a lover's spat. One never knows... what treasures are buried in the sand for only the sea turtles to see!

These turtles were everywhere at the Hyderabad City zoo in India. I thought they looked kind of funny and worth a picture.

Same turtle from earlier, just a different angle.

I have 45 images that I took the time to process sitting in a folder labeled "Flickr" that I haven't bothered to upload. So I'm going to upload a whole bunch of them so I can just be done with it!

While his wild brethren are burrowing down for a harsh winter, the GTCD's red-eared slider turtle does his morning yoga routine under his heat lamp.

I didn't take this shot ! My partner was out yesterday morning and spotted this turtle on the path, and came back for my camera so that I could at least see what he had seen. I just love how her head looks like it has been in the pond so long that it has become part of the pond. She (I presume it's a she) has been scratching in the sandy parts of the pathway, so I presume she is looking for a place for her eggs. The path is not a good spot, as ATV's often use it even though they are restricted from this area.

If I hide my head here, no one can see me!

DSCN6750 There was a giant crane in the road lifting a fallen tree over a house to remove it, and about 20 neighbors standing about taking in the spectacle.

Suddenly I noticed this turtle, covered in moss, in the middle of the crowd trying to lay her eggs in the rock between two driveways(!).

Nature will have her way regardless of the modern suburban (Wayzata, MN) world we have created.
