Is it instability, that leads to turmoil,

or doubt, that makes you turn, or is it...?

River bend in Serbia near Ovcar Kablar mountains, gosh I don't remember the name of the river, this viewpoint was not easy to find, you need to drive on a single lane paved road in bad condition that dead ends at a seemingly abandoned village and walk up first a 4x4 road and then a trail marked by paint signs, the viewpoint itself can be quite dangerous if you want to avoid the tree branches, having suffered a fall only 3 years ago, I didn't take the risk and thus I have those distracting branches in the frame. It takes about 20-30 minutes hike from the end of normal car capabilities to this spot.

Happy Monochrome Monday!

There was some beautiful blue ice on the shore that runs besides the rocks wrapped in paper thin ice

And they managed to fit me in anyway.

Turn-off to Mavora Lakes. We always stop at this beautiful pond.

One of the many small threads of the South Fork of the Snake River forms the Kelly's Island Camping area as seen on a chilly morning at sunrise.

Говорят,что в местах поворота реки происходят необычные явления… У меня тут разрядился последний аккумулятор и из 4 кадров с силуэтов на 3-х появилась горизонтальная красная полоса!

А у вас такое бывало?

They say that unusual phenomena occur at the places where the river turns... My last battery ran out and out of 4 frames from silhouettes, a horizontal red stripe appeared on 3!

Has this ever happened to you?

November 18, 2021 and many of the trees are still holding on to their beautifully colored leaves. Fall colors this year came in the last week of October peaking at the end of the first week of November. But, as one can see here, there are still some trees with leaves on them.

As in life. After using my Pentax Spotmatic for many years I decided to get more modern and went with a Minolta 7000i autofocus 35mm SLR. Sony purchased Minolta's camera division and carried on using A mount with its DSLRs. So I ended up with quite a few Minolta lenses that were very inexpensive second hand - before the Sony purchase. This was taken with a Minolta AF 200mm f2.8G APO on my Sony A7R with Sony mirrorless adapter.

Life keeps taking turns and you never know whats after it. Keep flowing ...like the river!

The Madison Turn returns to BNSF’s Lindenwood Yard on 9/2/2005 in Saint Louis, Missouri. This may have been BNSF’s train or TRRA’s train. They swapped “ownership” every couple months.

The Denver & Rio Grande Western had complained for some time that Utah Railway's Alco powered coal trains were too slow pulling loads up Price Canyon. To remedy the situation, the Utah Railway established a pool power agreement with the Union Pacific in Provo for high horsepower locomotives late in 1977. One of the first Union Pacific powered 'Martin Turn' coal trains departs Provo Yard with a UP SD40X (UP 3045) and two SD40s (UP 3092, UP 3074) for power on Nov. 6, 1977.

One of the bowls I recently turned. They aren't that great but I haven't done any turning in 30 years.

Finally after waiting for the Keolis/MBTA trackage to clear up the freight got its turn.

Mass Coastal Railroad train MC-3 from Taunton is southbound on Main 1 at about MP 38.3 on the New Bedford Mainline approaching the Cotley Streetcrossing. They have seven cars in tow destined for the Wharf Yard in Fall River for delivery to Gold Medal Bakery and Borden and Remington Corporation trailing a pair of rebuilt GP38-3s, LTEX 3815 and MC 2012.

The former began life in Jun. 1965 as a GP35 for the Santa Fe numbered 1388. It was renumbered ATSF 3388 and painted into the yellow bonnet scheme in the early 1970 and then was remanufactured into a GP35u at Cleburne in Apr. 1983. In 1998 it was patched and renumbered BNSF 2888 which it kept until leaving the roster for Larry's Truck and Electric in 2015.

The latter began life in Oct. 1966 as a GP40 for the Milwaukee Road numbered 199. It later passed to the Soo Line and then after retirement was derated and rebuilt as a lease unit numbered GMTX 2685 and then after that spent time working for BNSF before coming here about a year ago in July 2022.

This three mile stretch of the new South Coast Rail service between the new East Taunton station and the junction at Myricks is the busiest as it sees all train movements. For decades this was a single track 10 mph railroad seeing no more than one freight train a day each way and now in addition to that freight (which now can cruise along at 40 mph) it sees 58 passenger trains pass at up to 79 mph!
