tried this shot in my grass on a rainy day. I was thinking of submitting the shot to the four element theme on Macro Mondays but I thought it was too busy. Water drops on a grass leave, heavily edited in topaz studio to try to create this "artsy" look.

With the Delaware Water Gap looming in the background, the crew of Conrail train UPS continues to the Portland Diner to get a bite to eat. I was out with a friend, and we decided to follow UPS when we saw it in Bethlehem. Somewhere along the way, we ran into the late Walter Schopp, who was also following UPS. We caravanned all the way to Portland, and when we completed this shot, Walter, who was a tall, large-framed man that never missed a diner or mom-and-pop restaurant, suggested that we try the diner. He and I both decided on peach pie, and I asked for it to be heated on the grill with a scoop of ice cream. Walter followed my lead, and until the last time that I saw him, he always suggested taking a trip to Portland for pie.
I had heard about a technique quite a while ago and I have been meaning to try it one day, it consists of taking an object, photographing it multiple times all around it and then blending the layers in varying opacity in photoshop.
This is my first attempt - 12 photos taken around this nice little pot of lavender, blended in PS. I've then added some textures to finish the look. The left-hand image is my base image or starting point as a comparison.
The technique can be used on outdoor objects as well like trees, statues, fountains, buildings etc, etc...

Here's another from our trip out to the great wide open prairie last night. Here, the constellation Orion takes stock of Pawnee National Grassland in northeastern Colorado (note the abundant light pollution below).

Trying to see, but sometimes (or regularly in fact) I seem to return to the same subjects time and time again. There must be some meaning in that for me I think

Trying to ride every day after work before it gets too dark to ride. Straight from the stock camera app. (Beta iOS 10.1)
This lake bed was mostly drained to repair a breached levy and it appears hard enough to walk on... Ahhhhh not quite so.... When your shoe goes down in the mud and you pull back a bare foot you must accept your love of photography for what it is.......;-)))))
Tried to catch the early light, but it was a bit cloudy with some rain. Great for the dryland wheat farmers, but disappointing for my images. This is about 1.5 hours from home, so we'll be back with my new drone.
It's football season on the Siuslaw River. Tourists and locals alike were making bets on whether the sailboat's tall mast would split the uprights.

Une bonne gamelle, un filtre cassé, un temps d'expo trop long pour le bon filé, une ouverture trop grande... TRY TRY TRY !!!! (Au moins la lumière était bonne !!!) / A good fall, a broken filter, an expo too long for the good yarn water, too much ... TRY TRY TRY !!!! (At least the light was good !!!)
