For a brief moment, the boundary between people and nature disappears. A small Eurasian tree sparrow perches lightly on a hand, trusting enough to eat crumbs straight from the palm, while another waits close by. The background melts into soft branches and winter light, making the quiet exchange feel gentle and unplanned.

Tyntesfield is a Victorian Gothic Revival house and estate near Wraxall, North Somerset, England. The house is a Grade I listed building named after the Tynte baronets, who had owned estates in the area since about 1500. The location was formerly that of a 16th-century hunting lodge, which was used as a farmhouse until the early 19th century. In the 1830s a Georgian mansion was built on the site, which was bought by English businessman William Gibbs, whose huge fortune came from guano used as fertilizer. In the 1860s Gibbs had the house significantly expanded and remodelled; a chapel was added in the 1870s. The Gibbs family owned the house until the death of Richard Gibbs in 2001.
Tyntesfield was purchased by the National Trust in June 2002, after a fundraising campaign to prevent it being sold to private interests and ensure it would be open to the public. The house was opened to visitors for the first time just 10 weeks after the acquisition, and as more rooms are restored they are added to the tour.
The mansion was visited by 216,759 people in 2014, a rise of 1 per cent on the previous year.
An absolute delightful place to visit. Every aspect of the cottage, gardens and woods, part of Charnwood Forest, is so picturesque. Staff and volunteers are friendly, polite and informative. 5 Stars!

I am so busy actually, that i am not even up to date with commenting your beautiful posts of the last days!! But i watched many!!!
So now i feel the urge to upload a capture, which represents peace, relief, and an absolut stress - free situation :-)))
This is my cat Benjamin, a wild and aggressive street cat in the beginning, who bit me several times and was really dangerous (you can still see a scar at his nose, not to talk about some on my arms :-)) ).
But my constantly talking to him, petting him as much as possible, allowing him to stay, where he felt safe, let him free, when he needed to keep distance, finally tamed him.
Today he loves me wholeheartedly (not yet unconditional, i have to earn it every now and then again ....... haa haa haa ), trusts me (not yet completely, but more or less ;-) ) and tries to stay close to me, whenever possible.
And this touches my heart so deeply - i can see, how much he struggled to overcome his nearly inborn fear of human beings or of being hurt, beaten or rejected.
Isn't this the same with human beings? Being patient and friendly, giving space, when it is needed, hugging, when sadness is around and trying to create a space, where the feeling of safety and shelter can grow - can also tame the ever living fear in human beings of being rejected, being abandoned, being hurt.

Good Evening folks, I know it's just after Christmas and money is always limited at this time of year, but if you can help it would be really appreciated.
We are running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for the Teenage Cancer Trust at the end of March.
Most folks will not know that when I was younger I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Disease, a type of lymphatic cancer. I spent a couple years getting treatment including chemotherapy, radiotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. It was a long and difficult period of my life to go through.
I received a lot of help going through my treatment and one way I would like to give something back is by myself and Suzanne running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
I would really appreciate any help with donations you can give, every donation does make a difference.
