You approach the Abandoned Truck, your giant spiked club rests on your shoulder but your grip is strong and ready. A filthy man emerges, "The fuck you want..." he says turning his head to spit on the ground. When his face turns back to you it is met with your club and a spike to the brain. "I want your truck." you say, as the man falls. You dislodge your club from his smashed skull and step inside your new shelter.

The DRD Abandoned Truck is available on the 17th at Remnant. No skull smashing required.

Happy Monochrome Monday!

60 tonne truck in the Stawell goldmine.

Saw this truck on a little road trip the other day. Several days later as we drove back through town, I spotted it parked behind a building! Guess it wasn't really camouflaged...

although it doesn't seem so, the design is translucent with thousands of small holes, so i imagine you can still see thru it.

A life saver before my time.

Many many trucks like this approached Ottawa carrying Canadian flags including prime minister Justin Trudeau anti-flags (F*CK TRUDEAU). This truck had our flags upside down obviously a protester to our government and general opposition to vaccination mandates and public health restrictions. Below a group of trucks including the common anti-Trudeau slogan…

An rusty old truck (1948 International) in amongst the weeds and flowers. This photo was actually taken recently at the Cincinnati Flower Show. A participant actually hauled this old truck into the display area and displayed it along with his floral designs. Very well done don't you think. I took other photos that I will display at a later time. Note the hornet's nest on the dashboard. View On Black

Trucks wait for drivers that will not show up as the storm got worse on Friday. Happy Monochrome Monday - Processed with Nik Silver Efex Pro 2

We don't give much notice to the ubiquitous garbage truck, yet without it, life would get pretty interesting within a few days.

In Elgin Park, there was only one such truck, owned by "Pip" Paulson, and he made the rounds tirelessly, 5 days a week.

All of the town's castoffs were taken down by the river, at a place called Bunkie's Landing. This used to be a notorious area for rum running and other nefarious activities, back in the 1920's and '30s, but times had changed and the town's dump was now there.

Back to "Pip" Paulson; he was a valued citizen who performed a very necessary task that kept the town running smoothly. He bought himself a new Buick in 1948, seen here, which he kept in tip top shape and remained his only car until he passed away in 1965.

A hail and hearty Hurrah! for the "sanitary engineers" throughout the world. This photo is dedicated to you.

As for the model...the business end of the garbage truck, in the photo, was handmade, based on an early '50s design. It is constructed of styrene plastic and found objects.

On a different note...

Heard this noise outside and looked and this huge truck was dropping off a big recycle bin.. Couldn't imagine what the neighbor needed anything as large as that truck bed .. Well he was cleaning out his garage .. They picked it up today... Happy Truck Thursday, Everybody!!

The best food bank in town. Delivering food to the local charity in my hood who distributes to the needy.

The truck carries the name of the National Chloride Company which extracted liquid calcium chloride brine from the nearby Bristol Dry Lake. After a brief search I could not tell if the company is still operational. The area is embroiled in legal claims and counter claims over water and mineral rights. The town of Amboy relies on trucked in water to supply the few residents.
