The curry tree (Murraya koenigii) or curry leaf tree is a tropical to sub-tropical tree in the family Rutaceae (the rue family, which includes rue, citrus, and satinwood), and is native to India. Its leaves are used in many dishes in the Indian subcontinent. Often used in curries, the leaves are generally called by the name curry leaves, although they are also actually sweet neem leaves in most Indian languages. It is a small tree, growing 4–6 m tall, with a trunk up to 40 cm diameter. The aromatic leaves are pinnate, with 11–21 leaflets, each leaflet 2–4 cm long and 1–2 cm broad. The plant produces small white flowers which can self-pollinate to produce small shiny-black drupes containing a single, large viable seed. The berry pulp is edible, with a sweet flavor. 2166

Ceiba pentandra is a tropical tree native to Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean, northern South America, and to tropical west Africa. A somewhat smaller variety is found throughout southern Asia and the East Indies. Kapok is the most used common name for the tree and may also refer to the cotton-like fluff obtained from its seed pods. The tree is cultivated for the seed fibre, particularly in south-east Asia, and is also known as the Java cotton, Java kapok, silk-cotton, Samauma, or ceiba.

The buttress roots can be clearly seen in photographs extending 40 to 50 feet (12 to 15 meters) up the trunk of some specimens and extending out from the trunk as much as 65 feet (20 meters) and then continuing below ground to a total length of 165 feet (50 meters)

Bombax ceiba, like other trees of the genus Bombax, is commonly known as cotton tree. More specifically, it is sometimes known as Red Silk-Cotton; Red Cotton Tree; or ambiguously as silk-cotton or kapok, both of which may also refer to Ceiba pentandra.

This Asian tropical tree has a straight tall tree and its leaves are deciduous in winter. Red flowers with 5 petals appear in the spring before the new foliage. It produces a capsule which, when ripe, contains white fibres like cotton. Its trunk bears spikes to deter attacks by animals. Although its stout trunk suggests that it is useful for timber, its wood is too soft to be very useful.

The dry cores of the Bombax ceiba flower (Thai: งิ้ว) are an essential ingredient of the nam ngiao spicy noodle soup of the cuisine of Shan State and Northern Thailand, as well as the kaeng khae curry.

Bombax ceiba grows to an average of 20 meters, with old trees up to 60 meters in wet tropical weather. The tree is widely planted in southeastern Asian countries ( such as in Vietnam, Malay, Indonesia, etc.) , south China, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

This tree is commonly known as semal (Hindi: सेमल) or shimul (Bengali: শিমুল, Assamese:শিমলু) in India. It is widely planted in parks and on roadsides there because of its beautiful red flowers which bloom in March/April. This tree is quite common in New Delhi. The cotton fibers of this tree can be seen floating in the wind in early May.

Mae Charim National Park is a national park in Thailand, located in Nan Province. The park is named after the Mae Charim River, which flows through the area. Although Mae Charim National Park is less well known than some of Thailand's other national parks, it offers visitors a beautiful natural environment to explore. The park is known for its lush forests, scenic mountains, waterfalls and crystal clear streams. The landscape is diverse and includes dense forests, green valleys and steep limestone cliffs. It is an ideal destination for nature lovers, hikers and adventurers looking for peace and beauty. In Mae Charim National Park you will find several hiking trails that you can follow to explore the natural splendor of the area. A popular trek is to Mae Charim Waterfall, an impressive waterfall that flows into a refreshing pool. It is possible to do wihite water rafting in Mae Charim National Park as the Mae Charim River flows through the area. The river offers different levels of rapids depending on the season and water level. This makes it a suitable destination for adventure activities such as rafting and kayaking. In terms of flora and fauna, Mae Charim National Park is home to a variety of plant species, including tropical trees, orchids, and ferns. The park is also home to several animal species such as monkeys, deer, birds and butterflies. If you plan to visit Mae Charim National Park, it is advisable to prepare well. Bring plenty of water and snacks, wear comfortable clothes and shoes.

In Mae Charim National Park, located in Nan Province Thailand. White water rafting on the Nam Wa River is the premier adventure activity of Mae Charim National Park and is considered one of the most difficult and fun white water areas in Thailand. For the weather, there are summer, rainy season and winter. Summer starts from March to May. The rainy season starts from June to October. Winter starts from November to February. The difficulty level varies from level 1 to level 5 depending on the season. The difficulty of rapids is from June to October at level 3-5, from November to February at level 3-4 and from March to May at level 2-3. The Nam Wa River is about 100 km long, making it impossible to go down the entire river in one go. We do the 19.2 kilometer route with levels 3-5. White water rafting is a great activity to enjoy with my wife Kanitha. As we paddle down the winding river, we are surrounded by lush forests and breathtaking scenery. During the whitewater rafting we have to use skills and teamwork to navigate the rapids. We'll feel the adrenaline rush as we maneuver through the turbulent waters, dodging sparkling waterfall bursts and conquering the exciting challenges of the river. There will also be time to swim and float in the river with a spectacular backdrop of dense vegetation, majestic mountains and waterfalls cascading down the river.

The Pink Poui (Tabebuia rosea) is a large, tropical tree found in the Americas. Also known as Apamate or Rosy Trumpet Tree in its native range, it has been introduced to various countries around the world, including Trinidad & Tobago. It is often planted in parks and gardens, due to the large and attractive inflorescences (flowers) it produces in various hues of pink or purple. The trees may flower several times during the months of February to April, which each subsequent bloom becoming increasingly profuse from the last; and signal the oncoming change from drier to wetter months.

Image caption: Abstract of a Poui Tree in bloom. Trinidad and Tobago.

This was my first ever tortoise beetle, so it was a very exciting find. It was under a leaf on one of the big tropical trees that overshadow the sand on the beaches. I think it may be Aspidimorpha deusta. It was less excited to see me the first time ;-)

The flame tree, also known as royal poinciana or flamboyant, is a member of the bean family (Leguminosae) and is widely regarded as one of the most beautiful tropical trees in the world. This aptly named tree produces striking flame-like scarlet and yellow flowers in spring before the leaves emerge. As the trees mature, they develop broad umbrella-shaped crowns, and are often planted for their shade-giving properties.

Sea Shell, Sea Shell,

Sing me a song, O Please!

A song of ships, and sailor men,

And parrots, and tropical trees,

Of islands lost in the Spanish Main

Which no man ever may find again,

Of fishes and corals under the waves,

And seahorses stabled in great green caves.

Pandanus is an unusual tree that stands on prop roots the way corn plants do. I have always been fascinated by this tropical tree. It calls to the child in me who is amazed with the world! Pandanus scrambles along coastlines, builds up new land and provides protection for young fish.

Pandanus is also called Screw Pine because its trunk twists and turns like a corkscrew as it grows. Its thorny leaf edges make it hard to cut back. Pandanus produces cones that are about 7 inches in diameter and are quite heavy when they fall to the ground. These trees become quite woody and gnarly and strong enough to face up to tropical winds!

The Common Screwpine (Pandanus utilis) is a tropical tree native to Madagascar. Contrary to it's name, it is NOT a pine and doesn't even look like a pine. It is sometimes called a "Madagascar Screw-pine".

The garden houses 2000 species of trees, including 23 types of bamboo, 65 types of fig and 150 different palms. It was founded by US sugar baron Edwin F Atkins, who initially intended to use it to study different varieties of sugarcane, but instead began planting exotic tropical trees.

I'M GOING TO VISIT THE FLOWER OF THE JACARANDA, BEFORE SHE PEEL OFF LIGHT.

Jacaranda mimosifolia, comúnmente llamado jacarandá, jacaranda o tarco, es un árbol subtropical de la familia Bignoniaceae oriundo de Sudamérica y ampliamente cultivado por sus vistosas y duraderas flores azules.

Jacaranda mimosifolia is a sub-tropical tree native to south-central South America that has been widely planted elsewhere because of its beautiful and long-lasting blue flowers. It is also known as jacaranda, blue jacaranda, black poui, or as the fern tree. Older sources give it the systematic name Jacaranda acutifolia, but it is nowadays more usually classified as Jacaranda mimosifolia. In scientific usage, the name "Jacaranda" refers to the genus Jacaranda, which has many other members, but in horticultural and everyday usage, it nearly always means the blue jacaranda.

The Common Screwpine (Pandanus utilis) is a tropical tree native to Madagascar. Contrary to its name, it is NOT a pine and doesn't even look like a pine. It is sometimes called a Madagascar Screw-Pine. Interestingly, like corn plants, it has prop roots to hold it up. They become woody and gnarly and strong enough to face up to tropical winds! Notice the long leaves with sharply serrated edges and the ridged, twisting trunks.

See the green cone, the ripe cone losing orange ripe teeth, and the swirling flower that starts it all.

Tabebuia ochracea, known as corteza amarillia in Spanish, is a timber tree native to South America, Cerrado and Pantanal vegetation in Brazil. It is very similar and closely related to and often confused with the Golden Trumpet Tree, Tabebuia chrysotricha.

A Fern leaf that thinks it is a (Christmas?) tree... lol.

It came in a mixed flower-bouquet, I loved the way it looked so much that I put it in a separate vase, lovely... and sprayed it gold!

There are four particular types of habitats that ferns are found in: moist, shady forests; crevices in rock faces, especially when sheltered from the full sun; acid wetlands including bogs and swamps; and tropical trees. I often see them on roofs, walls, places where NOTHING else grows.

Ferns have been studied and found to be useful in the removal of heavy metals, especially arsenic, from the soil.

Thanx for your time and visit, (*_*)

Cassia fistula, commonly known as golden shower, purging cassia, Indian laburnum, or pudding-pipe tree is a flowering plant in the family Fabaceae. The species is native to the Indian subcontinent and adjacent regions of Southeast Asia, from southern Pakistan through India and Sri Lanka to Bangladesh, Myanmar and Thailand. It is a popular ornamental plant and is also used in herbal medicine.

Cassia fistula is widely grown as an ornamental plant in tropical and subtropical areas. It blooms in late spring/early summer in hot, dry weather. Flowering is profuse, with trees being covered with yellow flowers, many times with almost no leaf being seen. It grows well in dry climates. Growth for this tree is best in full sun on well-drained soil; it is relatively drought-tolerant and slightly salt-tolerant. It will tolerate light brief frost, but can get damaged if the cold persists. It can be subject to mildew or leaf spot, especially during the second half of the growing season. The tree blooms better with pronounced differences between summer and winter temperatures.

The Powerful Presence of a Historical Tree

"It is the hour of the recount and of the united march and we have to walk in a tight box like the silver in the roots of the Andes. The Peoples are United only with Bonds of Friendship, Fraternity and Love ". José Martí

The Tree of the American Fraternity just outside Old Havana and next to El Capitolio that Formed the Central Axis for the Flow of Peace.

It's a "Peace Giving" Java Kapok tropical tree ( Ceiba pentandra ) in the Park of the American Fraternity planted in the Cerro quarter the day of the Establishment of the Republic and transplanted to the centre of the Park of the Fraternity on February 24th, 1928 ,the day of the celebration of the 6th Pan-American Conference in Cuba.

Once there,it was planted with soil provided by the 28 republics that participated in the Conference.

* Storms make the Trees grow Deeper Roots ... *

Beautiful its harmonious ramifications that extend high into the flawless blue sky, deep its roots into the earth and sturdy its trunk to weather all storms ...

Native American Indians refer to trees as “The Standing People”.

It's worthwhile to stop in front of this Natural Giant, circled by a high fence crowned with the shields of the different countries.

( The base of the fenced enclosure is formed by marble blocks quarried from the mountains of the second-largest Cuban island, the Isle of Pines ( the Island of the Youth ) or the island La Evangelista as Columbus named it when he landed in 1494.US visitors, who once came for the cure-all properties of its springs, called it "Shangri-La".

Legend says that the iconic novel about pirates, "Treasure Island",

by Sottish author Robert Louis Stevenson - published in 1883,

is based on this untrampled corner of the Caribbean. )

The single-leave gate of the fence has something written on its surface long ago,it's rather illegible now,but on the upper edge of the fence you can still read : click on image to enlarge.

"Es la hora del recuento y de la marcha unida y hemos de andar en cuadro apretado como la plata en las raices de los Andes. Los pueblos no se unen sino con lazos de amistad, fraternidad y amor."

"It is the hour of the recount and of the united march and we have to walk in a tight box like the silver in the roots of the Andes. The Peoples are United only with Bonds of Friendship, Fraternity and Love ".

The phrase was taken from José Martí 's writings and tells us a lot about the spirit that should always surround the park and the world.

" Everything that Divides men, everything that Separates or Herds men together in Categories, is a Sin against Humanity."

Jose Marti

" In a time of Crisis, the Peoples of the World must rush to get to know each other." Jose Marti

I kept a patch of " blue sky" ... and moved on to get to know Jose Marti, aka "The Cuban Apostle", better ...

The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new places, but in having new eyes to look at the world. We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves to shape us as we go ...

Thematic Photography interspersed with high ideals and essential principles ...

It’s time to visit Memorial a José Martí.

Called by the Hawaiians Nāhuku, this lava tube is found in the tropical tree fern forest not too far from the summit of Kilauea at an altitude of 3,900’. The official name of the cave is the Thurston Lava Tube, named after Lorrin Thurston, a local newspaper publisher. The 500 year old lave tube formed when a river of lava was flowing down the side of Kilauea. The top of the flow harden but the still molten lava was moving underneath this crust. When the source of the lava was cut off or the eruption ceased, the molten rock moved out downslope leaving an open space or lava tube.

Such lava tubes are common in basaltic flows and I have walked and crawled through them in Idaho, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, California, Oregon and Iceland but this may be one of the most accessible i have visited and it has lights! There are many lava tubes like Nāhuku throughout the flows in Hawaii Volcanoes National Park.

Using Tai ceramic pots enablled a connection to the garden and resulted in this interesting addition amongst a dense planting of the hardy Aechmea blanchetiana, a dryland, hardy bromelia.
