(4880 hits in Google scholar, answer: it depends)

I won the Mauger-bucks from "the hat".

Gordon thanks everyone for coming out to help support Jason.

It wont be long before Supportive Living Week is observed in Illinois. The annual, week long highlight of the Supportive Living Program by the AALC (Affordable Assisted Living Coalition) is held each spring with local, regional and state held events, culminating in the state's capital. One of the most anticipated event is the state wide contest held for all supportive living residents. In the past, there as been a talent show and spelling bee; this year it is a trivia contest.

Every year, each Supportive Living community holds the contest among their residents. The winning team/individual from each community goes on to compete in their regional contest. From there, the winner(s) take a two day trip to Springfield to compete in the championship where an overall winner is crowned.

The Pointe residents really feel like this is their year. Trivia is very popular among the residents and they have always held several "trivia hours" each week, with huge turnouts. Last year, the residents even challenged the staff to a trivia contest, a contest that the residents won!

Three teams were organized for The Pointe's in-house contest. After a close fought battle, a winning team was declared. The residents on the winning team who will be representing The Pointe at the regional contest are:

Margaret "Peg" M.

Bernice B.

Gloria "Glo" O.

We are all looking forward to the next round of competition and will be rooting our team on. Check our website and our Facebook page regularly for updates on this contest as well as all other happenings at The Pointe.

cookie trivia: The food, originated in Rome sometime around the 3rd century B.C., and it was called 'bis coctum' meaning twice baked.

The Roman 'bis coctum' was not sweet, it had no sugar added. 'Bis coctum' is the origin of the word 'biscuit,' which is a flakey quick bread in the U.S., but in England a biscuit is what in the U.S. would be called a cookie or cracker. - foodreference.com
