Voluntary manslaughter.. "investigations" is just newspeak for political deals. BART is dragging their feet on this.
If you're planning on heading out there, have a backup plan because BART might shutdown Fruitvale station. There did this back in November with the "Stop the Raids" demonstations, so it won't be surprising if they try to reduce our numbers today.
Oakland AC Transit Map [pdf]
AC Transit buses 19, 47, 48, 50, 53, 54, 62, 63 will all go to Fruitvale. The 1, which runs down the length of International/14th St, will get you there one block north--get off at 34th Avenue.
If you're heading in from SF, you can ride the OX from the Transbay Terminal (fare will be 3.50), get off at Park & Buena Vista in Alameda, then transfer either to the 50 (westbound) or 19 (eastbound). If they're only shutting down Fruitvale Station, you can ride BART out to Lake Merritt, walk two blocks north to 11th, and take the 1 (southbound/westbound to Bayfair), getting off around 34th Ave.
511 Trip Planner - under Additional Options, you can exclude BART for a backup plan.
This could've been any one of us. Show up, even if you can't make it 'til 7.
